This is lovely! It does look really nice.

If you'd like some resources for dog training, etc. (I'm a dog trainer... almost! I assist with dog training classes and hopefully next year will actually be in charge of some classes and start doing privates) here are some of my favorites!

  • Perfect Puppy in 7 Days by Dr. Sophia Yin - While you of course won't get a perfect puppy in just 7 days, it's such a good place to start! This book is easy to read, has concrete advice, and was written by a fantastic vet and trainer)
  • The Other End of the Leash by Patricia McConnell - this isn't a 'how to' book, but it's a book I wish everyone who owned a dog would read! It's absolutely fantastic in really explaining how dog's brains work.
  • Kikopup youtube channel. While sometimes the production quality of her older videos isn't fantastic, she's a fantastic trainer and there's tons of stuff she covered in her videos. There are other trainers on youtube, but she's one of my favorites.

A really nice source of knowledge is /r/puppy101 and /r/dogs and /r/dogtraining. Puppy101's sidebar in particular is quite good!

Also, depending on your area, you may want to start looking for puppy classes now! Sometimes they fill up fast, depending on the trainers in your area.

Hey great thoughts, thanks! I'm also in [a TN system with a single notebook and a card insert and kraft folder](https://www.amazon.com/Travelers-Notebook-Refillable-Leather-Moleskine/dp/B075ZVKXW5/. Since I don't get free FN (jealous!), I'm thinking of using those Tomoe River notebooks with 96 pages in the TN passport size (linked in another reply in this thread) or just using two notebooks.

What's the model number of the Jinhao copy of a Safari? Also what green is that? It looks a little like Lierre Sauvage from J. Herbin. That's a great pen/ink combo.

I’m guessing you mean refillable rather than reusable.

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks figuring out the system I wanted after keeping a bujo since August.

Here’s what I decided to use:

Tul Junior discbound
https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/1053367/TUL-Custom-Note-Taking-System-Discbound/

I didn’t get the leather because it has credit card sized pockets on the inside cover that makes writing a little bumpy. I didn’t get the plastic cover because I wanted a firm surface so I could write without sitting at a desk.

I didn’t get a six ring binder like Filofax or a simple half size 3 ring binder because I found the rings made it harder to write. Discbound lets you fold the notebook back on itself. I chose the smaller discs. Larger ones started interfering with my writing.

The Arc system from Staples is equally nice. I got the Tul because I found a Tul paper punch at the thrift store for $5. I looked at the Happy Planner because Michael’s carries it and has all those great 40% off coupons, but it was a little too cutesy for me. I like the minimalist bujo.

The key to refilling a discbound is to use a heavier paper than just copy paper. I’m so darn ADHD, I need two pages for a daily entry...one to scrawl notes, site grocery lists, to dos for the next hours etc to get myself back on track, etc, and the other is a page page that’s actually legible and useful with info to preserve. I intend to toss my scrawly pages. When I was using a bound book, there was too much clutter. Bujo is so great because everything’s in one place, but I don’t need to save all my daily anxiety for posterity. But I’d go broke paying the retail price for little filler packs of 50 sheets.

PAPER
After looking quite a bit, I settled on this very good deal on paper: https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Weight-White-Sheets-Letter/dp/B01EKHNVRW/ref=sr_1_29?keywords=Paper+box+32+lb&qid=1573008633&sr=8-29

It’s already cut in half. I was just overwhelmed with choosing from the paper reams and I don’t have a trimmer so this saves me having to cut pages in half.

I’ll probably use this link on this page to download a dot grid to print on my paper. I haven’t tried this yet so I’m not sure it works but it should. nIf not there are other dot grid templates around. https://savorandsavvy.com/dot-grid-paper-printable/

Before I decided to go discbound, I had tried a moleskine and this very nice inexpensive hardcover dot grid from Michael’s (extra cheap with 40% off coupon.) https://www.michaels.com/black-dot-journal-by-artists-loft/10532092.html. But I need to be able to rearrange pages and keep tweaking the pages/format I use.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F43QLG4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 These beat Leuchtturm hands down. The paper is better, it's less expensive, the pages are numbered, and I LOVE the pen loop on the spine. It doesn't come in colors, but I spruced mine up with decals and washi tape. It only has one ribbon, but it's easy enough to add a ribbon. I'm almost ready to migrate into a new one, and will be adding at least one ribbon when I get a moment. I found this tutorial on how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8_bYNgoyCo

It looks like a Zebra mildliner. Granted, it looks like they only have two shades. I got a pack of 15 on Amazon, and they only had one grey, but I like all the other colors too.

Talia is my favorite - add or remove pages, different types of pages available, different sizes and covers. Plus, minimum to no ghosting with any pens/markers I have used in it.

I got these on Amazon. Not expensive, good quality paper (I really just use a Pilot G2 but don't notice much ghosting/bleed), lays flat, has a pocket in the back, page marker and elastic to close/do the pen trick with.

Double vote for the zebra mildliner. These are the ones I use, mostly just the gray, but I get fancy some days.

It might be more trouble than it's worth, but you could look at "perpetual calendar" stamps like this one though you'd have to cross out the extra days on 30/29/28-day months.

Holy crap! The version I bought is even cheaper now; $6.39 with Prime, and it’s an Amazon Choice item.

It's the Oxford Signature. You can use an app with it but I don't. I just love the paper! So smooth, and no bleeding with gel pens. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oxford-Signature-Notebook-Hardcover-Masculine/dp/B004VV50YU
