This sub has been a huge inspiration for my own little setup. Shout out to the few people here who have stacked monitors, you've helped a lot more than you know lol.

Here's the setup...

  1. Samsung Notebook 9 15" (NP900X5T-X01US)
    • i7 8550U, MX150 2GB 25W, 256 GB NVME SSD, 16 GB DDR4, plus a 256 GB microSD card

  2. BenQ GW2280 1080p monitors X2

  3. Vivo Dual Monitor Desk Stand

  4. Dell KM717

  5. Fiio E10K (mounted under the desk) and Sennheiser HD569 (also under the desk)

  6. Cable Matters USB 3.1 docking station

  7. An old tablet stand, link here, though I don't recommend spending that much on it. I totally lucked out on this one cause this laptop has pretty terrible thermals, so propping it up allows heat to rise out from the hinge where the vents are. It's not a huge improvement to thermals, but I can still win some games in Apex so I'm not complaining.

Just a little venting and maybe some advice for anyone working on their battletop. If your laptop has a Thunderbolt 3 port, and you intend to connect multiple monitors via a docking station, figure out how many monitors your laptop supports over Thunderbolt. It turns out my laptop only supports ONE monitor over Thunderbolt, which screwed me over. I have to use a USB 3.1 dock, which only supports up to 10Gbps, while the port on my laptop supports up to 40Gbps. Because Apple laptops (supposedly) only support one monitor over Thunderbolt, the vast majority of Thunderbolt 3 docks only have one HDMI/DP port, and another Thunderbolt 3 port. I ended up spending quite a bit on a Thunderbolt dock that is no use to me, which is a little annoying. I spoke to Cable Matters support at length about this, and they helped a great deal so I definitely recommend their products.

I've never really seen the pegboard before honestly but it just came to me. I wouldn't recommend it though, it took a bunch of time and is only for someone who likes doing organization. As far as cable management tips:

  1. My desk, the Alex from Ikea, actually has a compartment built in for cable management which is great.

  2. If you already have a desk maybe THIS would work for you,I'm planning on using this on my next desk.

  3. And if you wanna just do basic cable management, I can't recommend THESE enough. They're cheap, reusable, and work great. You could also add a SLEEVE to keep the wires together.

So I'll admit I felt like old people buying this thing but I spend 16 hours a day on this chair this cushion is an absolute necessity. Word to the wise, the 17in width is just a little bit too much. It fits but it's kind of shoved in there. If you can find one that is 15 inches wide you're going to have a better fit.

I'm interested in those Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers, found some for 50$ and they fit the grey of my monitor. Would these be a good pick?

Cable management will be great soon, final setup will be online soon.

Also getting an MX Master 2s, would i still need an oversized mouse pad?

Here you go! :)

Laptop: Asus Zephyrus S GX531GM Signature Edition

PCMR and /r/headphones liked it, so I thought I'd post here.

Had a spare second while waiting for some Adobe CC programs to install so tried my hand at a A E S T H E T I C style picture.

If anyone is interested, this is the Model - XPS 15 9560

Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 ohm. I'm using a FiiO E10K DAC/AMP for better sound/volume control and as there is a tiny occasional crackle with the built in headphone jack.

(This was taken with a Phone indoors, so don't expect a super sharp picture)

The ones i buy for work aren't cheap but are amazing for the price. For what you're doing I'm sure that works fine, if you want to upgrade at some point something like this acer is probably fine, just keep an eye out for deals on IPS monitors and find a resolution / screen size you like.

^^I ^^went ^^to ^^Ohayocon ^^last ^^week... ^^Obviously ^^I ^^don't ^^know ^^anything ^^about ^^watching ^^Japanese ^^cartoons ^^on ^^a ^^second ^^monitor ^^>_>

Trying to go for as clean of an aesthetic as possible while also not braking the bank. Everything you see here(besides the desk) totals to less than 900 GBP. Here's a list:

Unless you plan on touching that dock once in awhile, you should get some 3M based velcro strips and mount it under the desk since it looks like you value minimalism.

Yes it is. Just a note - if you want to stack two of these monitors and have them more than 1" above the desk, you'd also need a longer mounting pole

If anyone is looking for these mounts, I found them on Amazon

Screw on mount

Small connector arm

Big connector arm with elbow

I just used some heavy duty mounting tape to fix the keyboard to the screw mounts.

This one from Amazon: Adam Hall Stands SLT001EW Laptop Stand White https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009VBVXNW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Xby3AbB2QV9TV It's actually for DJs, and is height adjustable.

Do you mean the mounting hardware? In which case I used this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S7IDJQ?psc=1 . I also used some books to inch the side monitors up.

I am a fan of the vertical mouse. I used to get dull pains all up my forearm and down my index finger. If I use a regular mouse for an extended period of time, the pain returns in full force.

I started with a Lugulake a few years ago - hey, for $10, it's not a big loss. Two weeks of getting used to it and I was hooked. I now use an Evoluent at the office and this Anker everywhere else. I actually prefer the Anker over the Evoluent.
