You do not need a $500 machine to play Minecraft or Civ 6. These aren't demanding games and you can easily find a base PC for under $300 that will satisfy your needs.
Here is the base PC I bought. You can drop an additional $70-110 for a dedicated GPU if you're looking for maximum performance.

That Nvidia GT 710 is really meant to give you graphics when your CPU doesn't support it so you have SOMETHING to display. It really sticks out to me as the bottleneck of your system. Get a GTX 1050 ti ($150), the difference will blow you away.
