Reread OP and I know you wanted headset recommendations but I directed you to a headphones subreddit. I know thats not much help for gaming but let me recommend the V-MODA Boom Pro.

It will allow you to turn any headphone, with a removable cable in standard 3.5mm (many), into a good gaming headset. Here is the website for the subreddits recommendations list. That mic paired with a compatible headset from their list, will likely be better than any gaming branded headset you could buy for the same budget. I prefer this method over the Antlion ModMic because it is cheaper and overall allows for a cleaner cable setup at your desk.

If you are gaming with other people around look at the "Closed Back" list. If your budget is under $100, the only one with a removable cable (and a very good headphone) is the AudioTechnica M-40x. If you want a wider sound stage, and don't mind sound leaking an "Open Back" design might be for you. The AKG K240 MkII and Philips SPH9500 both work as well.

As you get more budget your options open up further. Feel free to check the site and see the subreddit for their reasonings.

My fiance uses a Logitech G430, if you use the USB plug, it has some nice noise-cancelling software built-in. Sometimes a little too much, if you speak too softly it won't catch your voice that well. But it's a very nice and very comfortable headset. Unless you already have headphones you like, I'd recommend the Logitech G430.

If you just want a mic, your options are only limited by your budget. Go for something with gain control, that'll help you eliminate background noise. The Yeti by Blue is a very popular pick for simple ease of use. It's not the godsend people like to say, but it's only around $100 and still works great.

It almost always comes down to budget. Your system warrants just about any monitor setup, it's just how much you want to spend. That said, this is a fantastic option. It's 144hz, 1440p, 27".

The monitor I have is the one you linked, the VG248QE. It's a great monitor, but if I was more willing to shell out the cash, I'd grab the ROG Swift. As far as colors go, it doesn't feel vibrant, but that's not a big issue to me. It still looks great and I'm happy with the purchase.

This one goes on sale a lot for under 200. I got one and its pretty legit. You will have to do some calibrations, the stock settings come pretty poorly set. But once done it's really decent for sub 200. Also if you get it from Costco even better. Cause if you decide you don't like it or find a better one later Costcos return policy is amazing.

I have to be honest, I actually have a slightly different Z88-labeled model, I just couldn't be bothered to find it at the time I was posting. But it's this: MechanicalEagle Z-88 RGB Backlit 104 Keys Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Blue Switches DIY - Replaceable Switches - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I1N6J34/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-RgFybN5ZFF8C

I love it. It's on my desk at work right next to my boss who has some giant white usb mechanical that I can't identify; we compete for volume in the office. :) I also have the tenkeyless version but I use the tenkey all the time and had to upgrade.

I also really like the look of that other one, wish I'd seen it earlier!

I got this (I ended up paying full price). It works really well, can read just about any disc I throw at it. according to this it works with Linux. Note: I have not tried this myself, however, I have played a blu-ray disk on windows with vlc and this player, and libaac, which is basically the only way you can play it on Linux other than ripping using MakeMkv. So I am pretty sure it will work.

Not sure about the keyboard you linked - but I purchased this keyboard back in December and it has been the greatest keyboard I've ever used. I almost bought another one for use at work!!

You really cannot beat the price of this keyboard, too.

Edit - only after posting my comment here, i notice that this amazon listing does not include the keyboard with the num-pad. Mine has the full number pad. Looks like it isn't available from the link I posted. Strange...

I did luck out, I thought I was doomed to the ebay bidding wars for weeks. That 970 board even has the 8+2 power phase I wanted in the 990fx boards.

Man, that really sucks about your pc. You did get a hell of a deal for it, so as long as you enjoyed your time with it, it was well worth the price.

As for a possible solution, I knew a buddy that used a low clearance cooler similar to this Noctua. But it's $50 so thats not much cheaper than the one you found. Then I was thinking you could go with a whole new motherboard like this one but if your lenovo board is propreitary, I would assume the power connector isn't a standard 24 pin so that wouldn't work. Hopefully you can find a workable solution.

Buying the newest pc components right now is not wise and I have already put off my upgrade build for a while waiting for RAM and GPUs to drop in price so I can start buying one piece at a time. But I want to wait on the mobo and cpu as my last parts for the newest tech. I suppose I should just be happy with what I have right now. First world problems lol

Good luck to you.

I would take a look at Vivo monitor stands/mounts on Amazon. Great quality for a good price.

Thanks so much! Could you tell me what you think about pairing either this or this with this? One question I have is.. do those have better graphics than the 2x AMD Radeon HD 6750s I have? I saw someone say you could still use GPUs with the APU, but would either APU be better in the first place?

Sorry for asking so much, I'm just on a tight budget and don't want to spend a bunch and find out something isn't compatible or isn't even an upgrade.

I personally have the C274FG70, but that's $270.

For your budget, I'd recommend the XF240H. Good specs and it's available at Costco.

The list price is pretty arbitrary. Waatcher uses price history and standard deviation to provide deal estimate. The percentage saved is based on the highest price. Here is the same Amazon product shown on Waatcher:

Well the tx3 does not work however the tx4 is almost the exact same price and it's pretty much the same thing

Just asked them about this for a couple different items. They said they are unable to do it.

The biggest is this one. I paid $120 for this at the end of September. Now it's $85.

i've added a 3rd monitor for some of the people I work with using a usb 3.0 displayport adapter

I didn't ask about the RAM but I did ask about the Motherboard. Here's the link for the Motherboard.

If possible I would instead get a plain old ~250GB SSD and then a external 1TB HDD for mass-storage.

Qpad is another re-branding I believe.

There are also Sennheiser gaming headsets that are basically the 500 series with a mic attached which are supposed to be decent. A bit pricey maybe.

A lot of recommendations for regular headphones with a modmic or V-MODA BoomPro.
