I use the following rack and top box. Had them installed for a year now and they've worked great for a few camping trips on rough roads. Both are an easy install and they couple well together. Box is easily removed with a key, otherwise it's always locked when closed. The rack was quite a bit cheaper when I got it.

I made it home alright by engine braking and making sure to be delicate with use of front brake.
My helmet liner was a lot like this.

There's a left and a right lever, at least with aftermarket ones. These are the ones I got and I absolutely love them. There's similar pairs for less than $20. I think it's one of the best mods because it's cheap, looks really good, and easy to put on. As far as the stock ones go I would just call Honda and see if they're reversible but I don't think they are
Okay, okay. It might not be the most elegant solution, but this bad boy can handle a 15" laptop (allegedly).
I would try and confirm it isn't too big for the CB500X tank though haha.

My only complaint is that my Pixel 2 XL doesn't really fit in the map pocket up top, I can barely button it closed.
