I know there's a lot of Harley hate but this is exactly why I bought these Harley steel toed tennis shoes. http://amzn.com/B001O11EWM
I absolutely love them and they are great for hammering gears. They are great for wearing out on the town when riding. Hell I almost never wear my boots anymore.

I already have these ready to go. I just need a day off from work to swap everything over. I was pleasantly surprised to find that that big aluminum piece that has the pegs is only 35 bucks

Yeah. One of my instructors lent me this book:

Sport Riding Techniques: How To Develop Real World Skills for Speed, Safety, and Confidence on the Street and Track, by Nick Ienatsch. The book answered a lot of questions that I'd had, and taught me things I wouldn't have thought about.

So yes, MSF is a start, but there's a ton of more information to learn, and other places to learn it from.

Ive had success with this spray but it comes off fairly easily.

My next project is to install a servo to a switch on the bars that just flips the plates up when going through them.

Yeah, that was a bit cunty, my bad.

If you're going to do it (wouldn't recommend it), but at least look into a better container. These are for a different kind of fuel, but it's aluminum and apparently a lot of people use them for gas.

Wash the bike so it's spotless, then spray it down with Maxima SC1. It'll shine and smell amazing, no way she could possibly object.

Now, invest in a helmet mount

Mounting helmet on top is ok. Get annoying at highway speeds as it wants to pull your head back

Mounting on side looks better (the video itself) , but leaves your helmet unbalanced.

Mounting on nose of motocross helmet seems to be the ticket.

If you want to talk, get a mic. I use this one.

You could attach these with a piece of wire to the chin vent. An added advantage would be the feeling of 8'' plastic nads slapping you in the chest each time you downshift.

I used this for my stuff. But its thin, so itd be a pain for tracing a decal out.

There are 2 inch versions that would be easier to use. Finding the color you want might be hard. Example 1, Example 2

It looks like plain electrical tape until you shine a light on it when its dark.

Tending 4 at once is not cheap but Dealerships do it all the time. http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-022-0148-DL-WH-12-Volt-Management/dp/B000CIPHUI

They even have 5 and 6 bank tenders.

I use these year round. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-phantom-gtx-gloves

In the winter I stuff in these liners if it's between 35-40:
http://www.amazon.com/Ibex-Outdoor-Clothing-Conductive-Merino/dp/B00DSAIH68/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416855608&sr=8-2&keywords=ibex+merino+glove+liner

If it gets super cold, as in under 35, it's these heated liners:
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/powerlet-rapidfire-heated-glove-liner-kit

The heated liners kinda suck but are dirt cheap and get the job done. (The heating element does not extend to your fingers, just the palm. You need to make sure you put it on your palm, else you will burn the back of your hand.)

I ride year round every day, rain or shine. The heated liners can keep you going without too much discomfort until about 15F, past that your fingertips start to get unhappy.

Also buy this for your neck:
http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Fur-Double-Layer-Warmer-Chelonia/dp/B002BGF1OG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416855912&sr=8-2&keywords=neck+fleece

Stuffing it between your jacket and helmet will keep you much much warmer.

That has might eat up that plastic. Or add chemicals to your gas. I don't know but I picked up one of these.
Laken Fuel 1-Liter Bottle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AR7BY6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rjpLxb0VHH1H4)

u/nitrogen76 · 1 pointr/CalamariRaceTeam

Nah, it's just these Mechanix wear gloves.

u/D1RTYBACON · 1 pointr/CalamariRaceTeam

I'm sure actual plastic specific fog shit exists put i just used fog x and I haven't had a problem in ~2 years.
