Butane torches, I've loved my Newport (it comes in other colors if gold isn't your thing). My guy has one of those and a Blazer Big Shot which is nice as well. Both have stood the test of time. The Newport you can operate with one hand, the Big Shot is possible to operate with one hand but slightly more difficult. I ordered a 6-pack of Newport butane with my torch and it's performed wonderfully. A cheap Bernzomatic torch from Home Depot will conk out on you, so just factor that in to whether you want to make another trip to pick up a new torch in 6 months, or buy a slightly more expensive one that'll last twice as long if not longer.
If you're going the propane route and have a TI nail, just make sure you don't overheat your nail. Titanium reacts with oxygen when it reaches a certain temperature, creating titanium oxide (the white coating you see on some TI nails) and titanium dioxide dust, which you can inhale and is definitely not good for you. You can reach this temp with butane or propane, but because propane burns about 1000 degrees (F) hotter than butane, you can reach that temp much easier. Those big blue propane tanks at Home Depot run about $5 though, if you're looking for a cheap and efficient route.
This has been asked a thousand times, at least twice this past week. Please use the search next time. Anyway I'll just copy and paste my last response:
I would go for this chamber:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vacuum-and-Degassing-chamber-1-5GL-/221257099507?pt=BI_Pumps&hash=item3383f368f3
If not this one, then a stainless steel one, the bell plastic chambers are not good if you have a heat pad or something in it.
Go for this vac pump:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005CO9GX6/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1375793140&sr=1-5&pi=AA160
You could get one cheaper there on amazon or eBay, it's up to you, but I recommend a 3 CFM pump or higher.
This hot plate is battery powered, fits in the chamber, and can keep a pretty good constant low temp:
http://www.amazon.com/Aroma-AHP-303-Single-Plate-Black/dp/B0007QCRNU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375192614&sr=8-1&keywords=battery+hot+plate
Hopefully this gets you started in the right direction, there are many many options for a nice vac set up, I'm sure if you look around you'll find good deals.
I purchased mine from the link below, you can build whatever syringe you want. (Highly, highly recommend at least 30ml or 50ml.) I have a glass-on-glass 30ml syringe with a metal luer lock.
http://www.zorotools.com/g/Glass%20Syringe%20Reusable/00141141/
And I get a 10 pack of filters from here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005T45FZM/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And you have it backwards! Here is how I use this syringe: Pull the plunger out, screw on a filter (skipping this = oil falls right out the bottom), pour from the measuring cup into the top of the syringe until it matches the 30ml line, then place the plunger back in, and begin applying pressure to pass the oil through the filter at the bottom. It is slow going considering I usually run batches of 200-300ml, but I cannot say it doesn't give GREAT results. It is a bit of an investment initially, but I only use one filter per batch, and the syringe is still working great after 5 or so batches, so I'd say it's a damn good one if you like pretty extracts.
Get a drop-down for the reclaim then get Five Star PBW Cleaner to clean all your glass. I have tried ISO + Salt, 420 cleaner, darkstar...and tons more. This is the best hands down. Soak overnight and it is perfect in the morning.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001D6IVZG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Five Star's PBW
http://www.amazon.com/PBW-Five-Star-1-lb/dp/B0064O7XBA
This stuff is truly amazing. I have used Isopropyl + salt, the 420 cleaner and many others. This stuff can't be beat. Just make sure to rinse with a small amount of iso to remove the chemicals afterwards.
The absolute minimum? that would be blender hash. The best way to do it is to buy these http://www.amazon.com/Bubble-Hash-Extractor-Gallon-micron/dp/B004XDY524 faily cheap, great product!
They make some pretty good battery powered ones that are small enough to fit in some chambers.
Just make sure you know the measurements of each before you buy, or you'll learn the hard way.
EDIT: here is an example
Something like this would be a better option. Though it is about 3 times as expensive. I wouldn't go cheap on your pump though. You'll end up wanting a better one later.
You could try soaking it in something like PBW but I would bet that in order to get that off you would end up removing the top layer of the dish. If you don't mind that then you could use some soap plus some steel wool but honestly it's never going to be the same.
Newport Zero. I love it, but the tank is small so it runs out fast. However, I like having a small torch and can't get a bigger tank unless I want a bigger torch, so I'm cool with how it is. Amazon
I'm in the process of figuring all of it out. Coil should be here Thursday(4/3/14) so I'll let you know about the Thermocouple K status. As for wiring I'm going off what I've done previously and info I get.
so far I have found this which has helped - http://mediarealm.com.au/articles/2013/04/xlr-wiring-standard-3-pin-5-pin/
I'm not sure exactly sure how I should wire, but I'm sure if I do some more digging I can find out how.
And this is the XLR plug I got - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00502CLRS/ref=pe_790750_114569500_em_1p_1_ti
I may go with this XLR plug next time - http://www.amazon.com/Neutrik-NC5MP-Chassis-Mount-Neutrik/dp/B00AELJ3ZI
Edit: OP posted this a while back - Dnail's XLRs are wired like this... pins 1 and 2 are power, 3 is TC+, 4 is TC-, 5 is ground. so I guess that's figured out somewhat.
I'm assuming you're using a torch and a titanium domeless nail. The best and most precise way to take low temp dabs is to buy yourself an infrared thermometer and measure your temps that way.
Another method (sighting) is just to heat up your nail to a slight red, then allow it to cool. This takes trial and error. Time how long it takes to cool (5, 10, 15 seconds) and then take your dab, cap it. Check if there's any oil left on your nail, if so then your nail is too cold and you should take your dab sooner. If you took your dab too soon, the you'll get a slight burn and diminished flavor in your dabs.
I find waiting 8-10 seconds after torching is the best for me, but everyone's nail is different.
these are really great for cleaning any smoking device, I have a bunch https://www.amazon.com/Bundles-Zen-Pipe-Cleaners-Bristle/dp/B000W5R6UA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478012971&sr=8-1&keywords=zen+pipe+cleaners
/u/herrschnaufer is correct - freeze everything: iso, bud and any jars that will be used for the extraction. The reason for this is to lock water solubles to the plant. I freeze for 24 hours in a deep freezer. The other plus to this is that you can do multiple washes and if done timely enough, your product will still be amber.
Use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. The 8% extra water content in 91% will mean you need to purge longer and will strip water-solubles faster than desired.
Use the finest filter(s) you can. I am planning on using one of these for my next run : 0.2um syringe filter
Here's my latest run, first wash and second both made from Mr. Nice Guy buds. The second run was intentionally turned from shatter to wax.
here is my parts list lol i think this would be a better idea splitter. can-tap. going from the splitter to my glacier top. and camico adapter. and ball valves. Does this look adequate or which part do I need to be able to press the valve depressor?
I'm a fan the of "fatboy" tanks that are shorter and 16oz because if you use something like this the torch head tends to be at a level where you can just set the tank next to your bong and it'll heat the nail up.
If you go on amazon and a few other places there are parchment papers that don't use silicone or quilon coatings but rather a vegetable based coating that is non-stick like silicone coated papers. Many extract companies are using this type of parchment paper to package grams and whatnot.
This is one of the brands I use and isn't supposed to use silicone or quilon according to what information I can find and based on the reviews with people asking if is silicone coated or not
http://www.amazon.com/Regency-Inch-Parchment-Paper-Length/dp/B000R9MKNE/ref=sr_1_8?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1316044105&sr=1-8
Also plan on pairing the pvac chamber with http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001P7C7QM/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1395938434&sr=8-2&pi=SX200_QL40
Can I get anything better without upgrading to a vac oven?
Or is the pvac and this pump pretty high quality
A good 5 pin xlr coil? I buy all my coils from D-nails site. If you're talking about a female XLR to build with, this
careful with designs like this, horror stories of jars popping should lead you to get the correct equipment. This and this
I like this
This is the one I use (highly recommend it)

I've never used these myself, but I've seen it recommended on other forums before. YMMV, of course.
https://www.amazon.com/IRWINQUICK-GRIPOne-Handed-Bar-Clamp-Heavy-Duty-1964712/dp/B001V61452/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=irwin+600&qid=1567012980&s=gateway&sr=8-4
One of these, I dont see how you could apply 850 lbs of pressure by hand. This clamp applies 600lbs.
You would need a desiccator and some tubing. I bought my desiccator on amazon. The tubing can be bought at Home Depot.
Here's the link for the desiccator:
http://www.amazon.com/Bel-Art-Scienceware-420220000-Polycarbonate-Desiccator/dp/B002VBW9S2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343115957&sr=8-1&keywords=desiccator
Don't bother with the Harbor Freight ones. You will eventually replace it. Just spend a bit more and get the Dake B-10 Pick up a set of Low Temp Plates instead of these off ebay.

Hey man! I would advise you to do some research into Rosin and avoid using solvents to make your extracts.
You can make rosin, which is a solventless and dabbable extract, with just some parchment, and a hair straightener.
Check out /r/rosin
To make Cannabis Rosin
I start by pucking ~2g of cured nugs with a small pollen press
then take one half foot of Oil Slick Wrap foil backed parchment paper and put the puck in the center of that.
after prepping the nug in the parchment i squish it in a hair straightener that is unplugged with an irwin quick clamp
after that is squished to it's limit i plug in the hair straighener and put my ear up to the area where the nug is and wait for a sizzle. as soon as i hear the sizzle i unplug the straightener and undo the clamp..
Then you've got rosin!!!
