It’s perfectly fine to use tap water and a good quality car shampoo to wash your car. I also live in a hard water area, it just means that you have to be careful to dry the car properly using a chamois leather or a micro fibre towel, otherwise you will end up with streaks when it dries.
A detailing spray (usually sold as a rapid or quick detail spray bottle) is good for cleaning the car when it’s just slightly dusty. The spray lubricates the dust and allows you to wipe it away with a cloth. I like Meguiars but there are lots to choose from https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0002JMO8K
FWIW I found this a great starter 3/8 Socket and Screwdriver set. Includes the spark plug sockets and extensions you see in the vid. You can sometimes get it for £30 and it's decent quality. Really nice solid case too.
