Lots of great options. This is great if you change the temp a lot or forget to turn it off. This is great if you never change the temp (like me). This is great if you're on a tight budget.

I've been building 3d printed UIEM shells for a while, though my goal was more towards a totally repairable set of IEMs rather than hifi. Instead of the standard flush looking female mmcx connectors, I use this kind which has more leverage against being pulled out during unplug cycles. This is how I design the model to fit the connector, it works pretty well: https://imgur.com/a/xi5zTa0

How many rails do you typically utilize? For a two driver crossover I am imagining 4, yes? I'm considering putting together a headset with tiny breadboards above each ear for prototyping purposes. That way I could relax and spend an afternoon with a configuration before setting it into a build.

It looks similar to what I’ve used before. Just be sure it’s an acrylic paint and not urethane-not good to put certain chemicals in your ears :)

Here’s a link to one I’ve used:
Krylon K01303A07 Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating Aerosol Spray, 6 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001K65K26/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9cyyCb575YMXY

I’m not sure why, but when I did the spray acrylic, sometimes in about a month it would “glaze” or something - like it seemed like it was separating from the IEM. It might work temporarily, or it might work forever. Hard to say. Low risk to try though!

I have used magnet wire that I had laying around from RadioShack on al of my builds. Something like this.

It has worked very well and doesn’t cost nearly as much.

I am making non-hollow ones with Amazing Clear Cast its completely safe for skin contact. It wont have the rubbery feeling silicon does but is very hard and almost impossible to break. GKs are non ported so i would recommend them. Obviously though if something goes wrong in the internals you wont be able to go in to fix them later. I would definitely suggest having removable cables.
