hah, I have actually never seen this. Asked the wife and she never heard of it neither :)

One thing you notice is that Japanese ground tools often have the wrong angle/ length since Japanese farmers tend to be old/tiny :) very annoying... Thus hand tools are probably more relevant for you.

Most Japanese tools are electric these days as well, but theres still some traditional tools around.

Besides these I use some ools that are different to their western counter part but in general not better or anything. Often worse to be honest (no spades here for example, and only shitty hos).
