Butane open blasting is generally the cheapest. For 1oz of bud you'll want 4x 320ml cans of at least 5x refined butane. For the extraction chamber I've used many things, but find a stainless steel water bottle with a narrow mouth works well. I use 150-200 mesh screen over the mouth, use a hose clamp to secure it, and drill a small hole that one of the butane adapter tips will fit in, into the bottom center of the water bottle. Blast into a pyrex bowl floating in boiling water in a pyrex pan; degas the poop soup using a candle warmer. There are lots of howtos on open blasting on youtube, it's pretty simple.

Before the future awesomeness we're living in now where I can buy extracts at the dispensary, I open blasted between 4-6 oz a month for almost a decade. I had a custom blown borosilicate glass extraction rig that would fit an oz of broken-up buds into it that was the tits...

(I realize a press might be cheaper, but to make a "real" press that can do 1/4oz of bud at a shot wants $100 or more at Harbor Freight or the like...)

You might be ok. I got thc pee strips off Amazon for pretty cheap. It's worth getting a multipack to see where you're at.

I (mostly) use quartz hybrid nails when I'm not using my double knot; if by 'chazz' you mean it turns it opaque, I'm just fine with a little gray discoloration on the inside of my nails dish, makes it easier to use the IR on & if any buildup ever occurs, that's what my little metal bristle Dremel tip is for.

My dishes last anywhere from 6 months (enail) to a year (butane) if I manage not to drop them by then.

Metal for sure, stainless is good enough. I don't care enough about my metal dabbers to spend more just to say I have a titanium dabber. $10 Amazon set got me basically every dabber end I could want.

seriously, order a smoke buddy on amazon. They're like magic, and if you ever notice it not working as well as it should just run it through the clothes dryer and it will start working like new again.

Just get one of those smoke buddies and you should be good to go!

You should be concerned about protection. I had a case setup pretty similar to yours and dropped the backpack it was in. I got lucky and all it did was put a small chip in it but I can see a tentacle or two snapping off in a bad fall
