  1. The swat officers and first responders to a mass shooting would be able to easily identify the teachers with firearms from the shooter because the teachers would be with students. Also the teacher would stand down when the police arrived. Very rarely does a citizen with a firearm who is protecting others from a shooter get seen as the shooter and even more rarely are they caught in the crossfire. One recent example I can think of is Sutherland Springs.

  2. This is my biggest problem but I live in Texas and we already have armed teachers at some campuses. My mom is one such teach. My wife will be when she feels comfortable (she has a concealed carry but doesn't carry to school.) Anyways, I mention this because there have been many many fights and incidents at the school and a gun has never been pulled on a student.

  3. I don't really understand this question, There wouldn't be a reason to identify mental illness unless there was an active shooter and in that case, I think the kid would a gun would make it clear.

  4. and 5. Go hand in hand. The simple answer is, if the teacher wishes to carry, then a finger print safe is required. These were provided for my mom's school to teachers who wished to carry by a private donar in partnership with the school

Sidenote: I don't ever want any of these firearms to be used at a school, but I would rather have them there in the hands of teachers who would do anything for my daughter than nothing there stopping a shooter.

Might try looking into wifi extenders or PoE access points (personally recommend Ubiquiti). There's also the Google WiFi system, which offers great performance at a cheaper price than Orbi.

I'm not your pal, buddy.

There are better ways to use a phrase that's been in society's collective lexicon for ages? How so? I'm not changing the way in which I speak because it was misinterpreted. And as we go back and forth on this we stray further from actual, important issues that we should be talking about in this comment section, like sexism and harassment and privilege, and how society has had a hand in institutionalizing a lot of these ideas.

Do i believe that Anita attacking Sargon was the right thing to do in this instance? No. Do I, however, believe that Sargon and co. were there for nefarious reasons? Of course they were. Their presence obviously intimidated Anita, and that is completely justifiable; to use a well-trodden anecdote, imagine going to a public event only to find your childhood bully there as well, wouldn't you feel a bit intimidated, at least at first? How Anita handled herself is a whole other thing, and I believe she handled herself poorly, but Sargon knew what he was doing and, speculation or not, I believe that to be true.

Boogie's interaction with Anita is, again, a whole other can of worms. Based on your comment history, you seem to have the idea that all problems are of the same caliber, and while I can see why it's incredibly easy to get behind that idea, picture in your mind some of the things I, a straight white male, can do in everyday life: I can talk to anyone I please without having slurs thrown at me; I can walk down the street without being catcalled; I've been able to get married to the opposite sex since before I was born or even knew I wanted to marry the opposite sex. These are, again, all anecdotal examples, but the point I'm making is that yes, because I was born into a middle-class, white family, and was born a male, I have advantages laid out before me that other people don't. My "rock-bottom" in life is several floors above other people's ceilings. In modern society you'd be remiss to deny that basic fact. It is for that reason that we should acknowledge that not everyone's problems are the same; we make "first world problems" into a meme, but it's based on the idea that the things people in first world countries complain about are way less serious than the problems of third world countries. Similarly, to say that the problems a white male has and the problems a black woman has are the same is just plain wrong.

I'd highly recommend giving Sociology in our Times: The Essentials, by Diana Kendall, a read. All of my info comes from there, as well as from personal experience and living life thus far. Published in 2015, it's the most recent textbook used widespread in the field, and you could possibly garner some new insights by reading and studying it. I certainly did.

I’m going to take my Bic For Her and write a strongly worded letter about this! If my husband lets me, of course!

My claim that it's not antifa? I'm basing that on the context of the video, what the video shows and doesn't show. There's a whole post where I break down all the discrepancies that I'd recommend reading, considering it's the start of this comment chain. If you'd like to respond to those discrepancies, we can discuss those.

You, like so many others, let your belief guide you into believing antifa was actually shown in the video. I propose that is simply not true. It's called acting for a reason - it's Manipulation 101. These actors know what you think of antifa, therefore they know how to portray a convincing fake. You think they are violent, so they pretend to be violent. You think they are secretive and work undercover, so they pretend to be secretive and work undercover. The act was so convincing that you would rather lecture me on how to identify social groups rather than analyze the manipulation in the editing and the details. You fell for their acting exactly like they wanted you to, and now you're defending it for them. It's honestly impressive how effective it was.

Also, nothing against you, but recommending a 600-page book on reddit is probably the worst way to address people. Literally no one will ever read a book from a suggestion they didn't ask for. Also, assuming I'm unlearned or lacking in knowledge is beyond condescending and insulting to my intelligence. Said another way... "I recommend you read books on manipulative rhetoric - This book is a good start."

Phil, have you read Trust Me I'm Lying? The book is hyper aware of what is wrong with the current state of the news-media-blog system. It might even be funny to see you use the tactics outlined in the book to exploit the system and reveal it's inner machinations.

Right-wingers seem to protest in the dumbest ways.

Destroying already paid for items, or buying a book with blank pages.

My opinions do not make me a bad person. My actions reflect that I am a decent person, this I can honestly say. Your virtue signaling doe not make you inherently good.

> inky, I guess it's supposed to be because I'm white?

Nononono, it's just a term we use in my region, related to pinkertons who were criminals which enforced the will of greedy capitalists on steel workers, which is effectively what neoliberals do.

  1. Vote manipulation is irrelevant here.

  2. What have I said that is slanderous?

  3. If I'm stalking you, go to the police.

  4. I did not know/forgot he had anonymous accounts.

  5. It is not for me to assume guilt of an individual that hasn't been prosecuted. Innocent until proven guilty.

  6. Do you always insult people who disagree with you? Quite aside from anything else, insulting people is not going to endear people to your point of view.

  7. Read this book on public shaming.

  8. If you've been raped, go to the police. Don't just go on Twitter/Reddit etc. and whip up a self-righteous virtue signal army.
