Your welcome.
One of my hobbies is looking for weird instruments and I've looked a lot. But I actually haven't seen anything like what you're looking for. That doesn't mean it can't be made, though. I'm pretty good with tools and I make a lot of my own stuff (I'm slowly teaching myself how to make guitars and other odd string instruments and I'm pretty good with other non-musical stuff) so if you find a design that you think could be adapted to your idea, let me know and I could help design it if you want.
Check out some books on simple musical instrument making. This book got me started and was where I first learned about aeolian instruments. Go here for some more on Amazon

Good luck and let me know if you need anything!

You beautiful bastard. This is perfect. Thank you!

Now to find out if it will fit my power supply...

Edit: do you think this one would work? My power supply in 9v, but this is a 12v switch...

My current power supply also looks a little shorter and stouter, but it's hard to tell...

that is like those fancy simple binoculars they use in theatres/opera, called opera glasses; https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Camera-Photo-Opera-Glasses/zgbs/photo/3381367011

edit: or if you don't care about both eyes and just need to see, you could get a more compact device a monocular, something like a gun scope https://www.amazon.com/s?k=monocular&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

edit2 also things like this https://www.amazon.com/Ultralight-Hand-free-Binoculars-Spyglasses-Adjustment/dp/B07V87LYSN/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_sims?ie=UTF8

May be more practical to get a wireless USB solution... like http://www.iogear.com/product/GUWIP204/ or http://www.amazon.com/HDE-over-Extension-Cable-Adapter/dp/B002WJ9S6Y (not wireless but can give you USB over Cat-5) or http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-USB-WIRELESS-Dongle-Black/dp/B001GV00ZM or http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-Wireless-Transmitter-Receiver/dp/B0036VNZHA.

Ultimately it may be more economically feasible to get a wireless device if you will be using it for a limited applications like a native bluetooth or wireless controller in your example above.

There is a levitron "anti-gravity" globe that doesn't have any physical support, but that also means you can't rotate it on all axis, only 1.

This sort of thing?

I've not personally used it, and the reviews are mixed...

I have a Yada Yada Yada that I got at Target for a few bucks. It only lets you record 1 sound at a time though. http://www.amazon.com/Yada-Colors-May-Vary/dp/B0015Z6B34

Not exactly what you described, but you might check out Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0385743572/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_p2rQAbNPEYVPN

The First Robotech War of the Robotech saga ended with a lot of Zentraedi soldiers stranded on Earth. The Zentraedi Rebellion novel specifically addresses their ability (or lack thereof) to adapt to life on Earth.
