This is the older one you're thinking of?
https://www.amazon.com/Hitchhikers-Guide-Galaxy-Complete-Radio/dp/0563504196
The older one has five radio series, unconfirmed if it's the remaster of the first two phases and the extended edits of the next three, but I believe it is all that, and bonus disk:
>containing two programs from the BBC Archive: Kaleidoscope from 1980 (going behind the scenes of the second series) and Six Characters in Search of an Answer: Arthur Dent from 2002
Meanwhile the link you posted is explicit about being the remaster and extended edits. It has a bonus material of
>a 55-minute feature programme, Douglas Adams’s Guide tothe Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and a fascinating 50-minute interview with Douglas Adams
and
>Douglas Adams’s appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Bookclub, in which he talks to James Naughtie and a group of readers about comedy, sci-fi, the creation of his characters and his influences
disclaimer: I'm only going by what is described on Amazon from those links. I own the older box set as described, but yet to get around to picking up the newer one
I have yet to read And Another Thing..., but I have heard that it is both good and different. I would say get more opinions on it before reading Mostly Harmless. Moreover, if you do decide to go on with the series and want something that looks good on your shelf, I would recommend The Ultimate Hitchiker's Guide. It is the first five and some short stories, which are also good. Moreover, it is a very nice looking book. Then have And Another Thing... as a separate book beside it, as it should be being from a different author.
If I remember after I get around to reading And Another Thing..., I'll come back and update this.
I'm no expert on sci-fi, but 'Year Zero' was pretty good. It felt like an american angle on a hitchhiker type story. It's more funny than profound, at least when compared to hitchhikers. Most of it takes place on Earth, and the alien world has to be kept from being viewed by humans because it's beauty would overwhelm and possibly kill them. So it's hardly described at all.
The audiobook is read by John Hodgman, and he does a great job with all the voices. I had no idea he did voices.
The radio plays can be bought from amazon for the full set of the first 5 phases. I would particularly recommend buying the radio series, It really is the coolest thing since cryogenics.

Eoin Colfer really gets the style and feel of Douglas, If you enjoy Douglas's work you will certainly enjoy "And another thing", my only pet peeve is that I would have much preferred he had continued with the extended ending found in the radio series.
The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy includes all 5 that were written by Douglas Adams. The one I have on my shelf has a different cover than what Amazon currently shows, but it looks like it's all there. There is another Hitchhiker's book by Eoin Colfer working on Douglas Adams' notes called And Another Thing... you might also want to check out. Though you're probably better off switching to Dirk Gently before you get to that one.
I'd absolutely go with the Ultimate again. It is the definitive version, containing all of the real novels and the Young Zaphod short story. You can get it in hardcover, "very good" quality, for $7.00 plus shipping on Amazon currently. You can also now get the complete BBC Radio Dramas for the very first time at a reasonable price. if you've never heard them before, be prepared for an entirely new and wholly awesome experience, and quite a bit of original content not found in the written novels.
Never heard of it before, but piqued my interest enough to do some googling.
It looks like the script is in this book:
OJRIL: The Completely Incomplete Graham Chapman
Which is available on amazon, at least in the uk

Here's a box set on Amazon of all 5 radio series:-
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Hitchhikers-Guide-To-Galaxy/dp/0563504196/ref=pd_cp_14_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1E0Z1PTPGEBY0ZSKG1GG
Thing is the first 2 series, the "Primary" and "Secondary Phases" were the original series made by Douglas Adams. The other 3 'Phases' were recorded after his death and after some of the original cast, like Peter Jones & Richard Vernon, had passed away too. So if it's just the original radio series you want you might want to scan ebay etc. for second hand copies of the first 2. They've been released on vinyl and cassette tape (which I have) a number of times. Or you could go the whole hog and buy the box set on CD. It's not cheap but well worth listening to if you're a fan.
Yeah, the Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide is probably the best way to go. You can get it different formats and reprints as well. Mine is this [edition.] (http://www.amazon.com/The-Ultimate-Hitchhikers-Guide-Unabridged/dp/0517124858/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344483938&sr=8-1&keywords=0517124858)
i got this and this and made my own. The Etsy version wasn't made to fit the newest Gen Kindle, but i bet it would fit. I like smashing together two things myself.
How about the alien from most of the book's covers? This guy. Might be good for the top bar as well.
This is the best, in my opinion
You can buy the DVDs on Amazon. Or maybe watch it on Netflix. The Wikipedia page seems pretty detailed.
If I bought the books again I'd definitely go for the classiest option. It ain't cheap, though.
German special edition DVD of the TV series: https://www.amazon.com/Hitchhikers-Guide-Galaxy-Simon-Jones/dp/B0000647VU
Is the "special edition remaster" the same one as this? https://www.amazon.com/Hitchhikers-Guide-Galaxy-Complete-Radio/dp/0563504196
There are a few different printings of the full series.
Here's a link to the first one I found on Amazon The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Pretty cheap here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0345391802
but I don't know any free sources

Four bucks, dude. Orrrr maybe your not in the US?

Wait until the new BBC live audiobook they recently did to come out, Hexagonal Phase which should be much more listenable.
Edit: Available at Amazon/Audible now
Some can
$4.66 on Amazon for a used copy. Check your local used bookstore.
The radio scripts for the Tertiary, Quandary, and Quintessential phases.
I have this http://www.amazon.com/The-Ultimate-Hitchhikers-Guide-Galaxy/dp/0345453743 $13 for all in a convenient package is hard to turn down.
In 2005, I was thrilled when this became available in the US.
Link to Complete Radio Series on Audio CD
It was expensive, and it was a long wait, but before that the only versions available were MP3. The HHGttG was groundbreaking for many reasons, but one was the high quality of the audio, especially the effects. The reviews for the MP3 version often complained about the sound quality. Unfortunately, at least in the US, there just wasn't any simple options for listening to the series as it was originally broadcast until this came out. There was a previously released vinyl recording, but it was out of print and I haven't had a turntable since the '80s.
