If you ship through ebay, you get free tracking. You'll pay more than a stamp, but at 1 oz (this is the minimum) it should only be about $1.00 $2.00, and your buyers will want tracking. Plus it automatically emails the buyer all the tracking info when you purchase the postage. It's just much simpler than doing it yourself. I would recommend shipping through ebay, especially if you are looking at a lot of volume.

I use these labels and have been pretty happy with them. Labels printed through ebay are default 4x6, but if I'm not mistaken you can edit these settings on paypal...like if you have a thermal printer or something like that. If you don't want to buy labels, you can just print them on paper and tape them to the envelope with clear packing tape.

You can use the USPS calculator to check prices at different weights.

You get 50 free listings per month, then its $0.30 per listing after that.

If you're brand new on ebay, I think there might be limits on how many items you can sell per month. Not sure what they are, though.

Edit for getting the USPS pricing wrong.

Looks like a pretty good resource. Although the site is all over the place lol. I was actually looking at this book which seems like a good "reference guide/bible" http://www.amazon.com/eBay-Business-All-One-Dummies/dp/1118401662

Sorry to hear that you have problems with the weighmax, you should consider having it replaced, mine lasted 3+ years before starting to have smaller problems, and I can still use it.

I use two scales myself, I have a weighmax that is more or less crapping out on me, turns itsef on/off all the time and won't tare properly sometimes, maybe I should send it in for warranty replacement...

I've had mine for 3+ years and used it to weigh ~1500 shipments before it started acting up, and I can still use it although with a little difficulty.

The second scale I use is this:
http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-DIGITAL-DIAMOND-POCKET-SCALE/dp/B0042E4AG0/ref=sr_1_1?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1381201589&sr=1-1&keywords=eforcity+scale

Search for 1000g pocket scale on ebay and sort lowest price from US seller, you should not pay more than $7 for it

Since I mostly sell smaller items I can weigh ~90% of all shipments on it, it's much faster and easier to use than the weighmax scale, and it's small enough for me to keep on my desk.
Cons: battery powered, but it will last a long time still, can only handle ~2-3 lbs, somewhat difficult to weigh larger packages since you need to see the display at all times, I put an empty roll of tape on it to raise packages up and it works great
pros: small, quick, easy, extremely good accuracy, very cheap

Pick one depending on what you sell, you can always search by customer reviews on amazon

eg:

Seems to be good

Definitely get a scale. Seriously a great investment for saving as much as possible on shipping. Every ounce counts. I bought this scale and love it. Also make sure you round up when doing USPS. If your package weighs 4.1 oz, mark it as 5.

I have this one It's very good quality and it was recommended to me by a lot of people before I purchased. Having used it myself, I vouch for it completely. Nice bright display with big numbers and seems very accurate. Also whether this is for weightloss or not, /r/loseit knows ALOT about scales.

EDIT: Nevermind.

We're in the UK, so we only need tracking for anything that sells for more than £62. Anything below that is covered by Royal Mail by just having a receipt.

Those are pretty much the kind of toploaders we use. Sleeve-wise we use ones like these. Some prefer these instead because they're cheaper, but they're too loose in the toploaders for us to be comfortable with using.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W7IOV4/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 bought this one and LOVE it. it can stay on if its plugged in, if its via battery power it may turn off after a certain amount but i havent tested it for this

I currently use a label printer, as someone else suggested here, but i used to print them the old fashioned way like I see in the pic here.

What I did back then- I printed it normal size, but I used a paper trimmer to cut off all of the excess- the paypal stuff up top, the blank on the bottom, and anything outside of the black lines.

Moen. I am selling handles to a faucet still in the original package. I've sold probably 100 sets of these in the past 3 years and never had an issue. I have used the same picture since I started. It was exactly this this picture. The tutorial took all of 5 minutes to do, but still.

Not endorsing one product or price, but there are a ton of options out there.

Also, grammatically "vinyls" is not correct. What you're selling is a record album pressed on vinyl. So it can be vinyl records or vinyl albums, but the word vinyl cannot be pluralized.

What price do you normally start tracking at? I was thinking anything over $10.

I've been putting my cards in something similar to this when shipping.

Here you go plenty to choose from. The cheapest I found with manual and case is around $30 with shipping.
