There are some good and reasonably priced spinners on Amazon. I have and like this one https://smile.amazon.com/EZOON-Spinner-Aluminum-Replaceable-Spinning/dp/B06XZ13FC1. It's big and light with good gyro. Does great with a button upgrade, like a 22m Kong.

I love this large, heavy beast: https://smile.amazon.com/ATESSON-Spinner-Stainless-Precision-Material/dp/B071Z68LGL

This one is solid copper, and is decent. https://smile.amazon.com/TYZEST-Spinner-Durable-Precision-material/dp/B01NAPTIZQ

I don't have this one, but have seen a lot of people raving about it. https://smile.amazon.com/Aesthetics-Spinners-Stainless-hybrid-ceramic-delivers/dp/B073Q8TNYF

This one sounds really fast and has a great bearing. https://smile.amazon.com/Xelparuc-Spinner-Perfect-Anxiety-Children/dp/B06XSRQT7G

Wow! This one went down to $5. I have it in silver and it is one of my favorites. https://smile.amazon.com/Spinner-TANAAB-Durable-Spinning-Balanced/dp/B07263LRFV. It's pretty light, being solid aluminum, but very smooth and beautiful.

Atrium Anniversary! 🥳

In honor of today’s Drop of the Abacus I decided to polish up my Copper Atrium and carry it today at work. I can’t believe it’s been two years since the original Atriums dropped. Preorders started 10/22/17.

After receiving it I ordered tritium vials in Green and Purple and added them with UV resin. Have been real happy with how they turned out and a delightful display in the night.

I have been letting my Copper pieces patina. But about once a year I have been repolishing them with Blue Magic and then recently started applying Renaissance Micro-Crystalline Wax Polish. I have been super impressed with this wax and how long Copper and Brass/Bronze items remain shiny. Some are free from patina even when they come back around in my rotation a month later.

So I have the cheap plastic spinner with the bearings in the arms; and while it's really satisfying in its own right, I figured it's time to upgrade to something metal.

I have $50 towards Amazon, and I would like something that can share a pocket with either my phone or wallet that has some weight to it and preferably a decent spin time. (And I prefer any color besides gold/brass, but that's less important to me.)

Here's the ones I've looked into so far:

Zendial bar

Zendial star

TYZST

Nomad

Apsung

Yes a bunch of these suggestions came from scouring this subreddit, and honestly I don't know jack about these sellers or the "authenticity" of these spinners. So please let me know what you think, and I am open to suggestions that aren't what I have listed here. Thanks guys!

Edit: Sorry, I know no one has even looked at this comment yet, but I think I'm gonna go with the Zendial star. It's only $20 and I get prime shipping; and people on here seem to trust that company. Let me know if this was a bad idea.

Apsung

https://www.amazon.com/Apsung-Spinner-Tri-spinner-Minutes-Antiqued/dp/B06XCT29RX/

$20

80g

606 hybrid (Si3N4) 9 ball bearing with threaded retainer

Out of the box, the table spin time for me was around 5-6 minutes. I cleaned it and added a tiny bit of oil to reduce noise which slowed it down a bit, but I prioritize stealth over spin time. It does sing a little bit at high speeds.

The buttons are nicely concave. The edges of the body could be a little smoother, but they are not too annoying.

The bearing retainer is just slightly askew in the body and there is a little bit of play in the bearing and between the bearing and the button so there is a little bit of wobble, but it is not too bad.

This is my first "heavy" spinner and I have mixed feelings about it. For the price, it is not bad, but I find my preferences leaning towards smaller, lighter spinners for quiet fidgeting in an office environment.

The case it comes in, with foam cutout, is nice, although it makes it bulky.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Honestly, my favorite so far has been the Neutron by Infinite Spin in the center of the bottom row. Only about 40g, but with an R188 bearing.

PSA: The Apsung U13 and the v2 Antiquated Bronze version are on sale on Amazon for $9.99. The price keeps fluctuating dramatically (I bought the v2 a week ago for $17.99 and have seen it at $15.99, $12.99, and $9.99 in the last few days) but the spinners are nice, spin solidly (got the antiquated bronze to go for 6:15) and are incredibly inexpensive! Definitely a heavy spinner (which I like) and the ceramic bearings are nice and it looks good :)

Very good and helpful video, thank you!

Regarding the Loctite that you're using, you might want to check out Loctite 641 (bearing retaining compound). At first I was skeptical about using anything other than 242 (blue, which you use here), but when I heard about how fast 641 cures and how easy it is to clean, I was won over.

242 is very runny, and can get everywhere. As you mention here, it also incapacitates your spinner for a good day or so, otherwise you'll have trouble with the Loctite not holding properly. I can't recommend it enough, having used it over blue for the last 6 months or so. If you do try it, let me know what you think!

Yes Ogralin's method will work well. Great advice. You just need to take your time. I think the best locktite to use is 641. It was made for retaining bearings in housings and cures when sealed without air.....if I am explaining that right? Until the seal has had a little time to settle you can do some repositioning. The bond can be broken if you need to remove the bearing at any time. It takes a short time to cure but it's best to leave it a few hours to make sure. A little goes a long way. https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-442-28802-Retaining-Compound-Controlled/dp/B000NZZZ7A/ref=sr_1_1/134-0573283-8528024?ie=UTF8&qid=1492203103&sr=8-1&keywords=loctite+641

Haha I did the same thing a few days ago since I never buy anything from Amazon. Ended up getting this zentri clone and I love it, honestly. First metal tri.

u/fidgetmonkeys · 2 pointsr/FidgetSpinners

OnDaq,

This one from Amazon seems like a pretty good deal.

https://www.amazon.com/VXB-Ceramic-Miniature-Bearing-8x22x7/dp/B01JKBUR1Q

It's a full ZrO2 bearing. There are two types of ceramic bearings (Si3N4 Silicon Nitride, and the ZrO2 Zirconium Oxide). Then you have full or hybrid. A full means that all components of the bearing are made from those elements. The hybrids will usually have the ceramic balls and the rings/races are made from some other material. Just make sure the size matches to the existing bearing in your spinner if you're buying a replacement online.

Regards,
Nate

Hello! I live in the US and looking to get a spinner with a spin time >5min if possible, budget up to $100USD or so. I've bought a few things off amazon while experimenting... my favorite so far is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0719HCMJL/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought one of these but was pretty disappointed, not getting anywhere near the spin time that reviews claimed :/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071Z68LGL/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't have any super strong preferences on materials or designs, except that I do seem to prefer spinners with 3 or more spokes (unlike the bars I sometimes see). Circular ones seem pretty cool too.

u/Vernicious · 2 pointsr/FidgetSpinners

You're underestimating both the je ne sais qua feeling of quality, and how much nicer and more fun more mass feels. Most makers have done a nice job of smoothing out the edges, so the hot spots you're theorizing about don't show up on many spinners (but you're right, there ARE spinners with hot spots; do your homework). This was my first all-metal spinner, not to expensive, no hot spots ... in fact, despite having a few $100+ spinners, I still often come back to this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XCT29RX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I would state unequivocally that all you need to do is order that, and you'll understand everything you need to understand about metal spinners.

u/Inathero · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

You could grab some light-weight loctite like loctite blue: https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-Heavy-Duty-Threadlocker-Single/dp/B000I1RSNS/

Then put a very very small amount on the threads, screw them as tight as you can, and let them sit. They'll be secure. And since you're using something like loctite instead of super glue, you can still unscrew them (though it'll take a lot more effort)

I picked this guy up last week at that price point and it's honestly fantastic. The grooves are starting to patina a little bit but keeping it in your pocket a little bit when you aren't using it is enough to keep it at a near-mirror finish. With fresh bearings you can get 8+ minute spins easily but that quickly averages out to 6 minutes after a few days of use and some schmoo has worked its way into them.

The case ("X-Large" one)

This was recommended to me from /u/ladsinsane. I wish it was just a hair taller (the gear one can't stand up), but very happy and it holds all my stuff.

u/sock2828 · 2 pointsr/FidgetSpinners

I've been using this YoYo lube on my loud spinners that actually leave the house. It seems pretty good and makes them virtually silent, and as long as I use as small an amount as possible on my bearing it doesn't reduce spin times that much either.

I've only ever tried this lube though, so I'm not sure if there's anything better out there. Anybody else have any suggestions?

u/Honda_TypeR · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

I use Pelican 1170

https://www.amazon.com/Pelican-1170-Case-Foam-Black/dp/B0038VETHS

Stores 20 safely, basically mil spec grade protection which is great if you have a lot of exotics or rare pieces. You can buy multiple and they stack too.

u/Syren__ · 2 pointsr/FidgetSpinners

everyone in the forums is using blue loctite for their bearings because they would like to remove them at some point again to clean or replace the bearing. I would recommend using that to seat the bearing.

u/Highlander_316 · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

I have the spinner that looks like this. It spins for about 7 minutes. Not expensive and works great.

u/Roughknite · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

Got a 35$ Amazon gift card from work. There are so many spinners on Amazon I don't know what to get. Suggestions? I was thinking of getting an inexpensive one then replace with a fully ceramic bearing. Thoughts? This is the combination I was thinking (comes to just under 35$)

I'm looking to get a 3 sided, silver spinner with a nice and quiet spin time. I'm specifically eyeing the zentri spinner off of fidgethq. Does anyone have this and can confirm the quality of it? I've heard great things, but I want to hear a couple more opinions before I whip out $40 for this.

Edit: Also found this Apsung and TYZEST. Both are rated highly, anyone have those and can vouch?

u/MetallicMan666 · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

I got mine last week but from a different seller on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAPTIZQ). I'm loving it so far. A 2-handed spin on the table can get me a spin time of about 7:30 minutes right now. My only complaint is that the bearing doesn't have a cage to hold the bearings in place. This causes the spinner to produce a slightly louder spin when it is held vertically. I was wondering if this was the case for you.

u/WhenTheBeatKICK · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

I've seen this design go by different names. I don't want to spend $45 on a spinner though. Is there a $15 version out there on amazon? (preferably that rainbow color or just matte black) Does that design have a name I can use to search for that style specifically on other sites like fasttech/aliexpress? I want to get one shipped to me prime and then probably buy a few more on the cheap from china.

u/rainbowraptor · 3 pointsr/FidgetSpinners
  1. Heres an amazing one made of copper.

  2. Have you tried to polish it?

  3. You might need a new bearing.

Been collecting em for a while now and figured I'd share. I may have some a few haven't seen so let me know if you have any questions

I can post other pics as well of each out if asked for

I tried a one-drop 10 ball and an NSK ds plat in there as well; neither come close to the 6 seconds shy of 8 mins I can hit. That was with a pretty average "strong" spin on the table.

u/Budluv · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

I've got this one and really like it.

Just got this case in the mail today (thanks to /u/dillthepill & /u/ohitsjustpete for recommending it). The elastic straps keep the spinners secure.

and for a EDC pouch I'm trying out this leather coin pouch.

Do you think you can replace the bearing? Maybe with a hybrid 608?

u/ataraxy · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

Check this one out. It's similar to a phat boy junior but it's 41mm which is the size of a zenduo (42mm). I've been looking for one around that size (a little bigger than the zini) also and stumbled onto it.

u/G-wow · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

As far as the bearing goes, I've seen them from $10 (vxb via amazon) all the to the $100s. I personally haven't bought any full ceramic ones yet, but I'm waiting on some of the spinners I ordered to arrive so I might be looking to replace them if I'm not content with the ones that come in the unit.

u/muddkipz420 · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

If you're looking for a torqbar clone usually it's the least expensive. I know if you go to Amazon, search "fidget spinner," and filter by low price they have it for about $2 (Amazon link). You might be able to still find it on eBay, price may vary.

The terminology I use is 2-arm/bar spinner for the torqbar.

u/boomhauer100 · 1 pointr/FidgetSpinners

No, the lowest I see anywhere is a pack of two for bones red but for 1 dollar more (5.50 if you divide 9 by 2) you can get a single all ceramic bearing
I took off my sheilds with a knife. But that is because I bought ones with non-removable shields. Here is a video which apparently shows how to remove the shield

Regarding the Amazon post, looks like they either updated it or I recalled incorrectly. It says its a stainless bearing now.

I think copper with a ceramic bearing is what's in use on the spinner with the highest spin time (the Rotablade Stubby), but the brass doesn't affect the smoothness of the bearing, just the weight. I believe the ceramic bearing is the smoothest, but I could be wrong about that. As far as what's most 'popular', it depends on how you measure that. It's probably not the most widely distributed, but is perhaps the 'preferable choice.'

u/wolfsharktomahawk · 33 pointsr/FidgetSpinners

Looking for my first spinner and I have a little under $50 to spend. I have found a few decent looking ones:

1
2
3
4

But I have no clue on the quality of any of these. Does anyone know about any of these or have any suggestions of your own?
