I cant say anything re: parlor guitar, but I bought this jameson 5 string resonator banjo for SUPER CHEAP to teach my self how to play and it has been absolutely outstanding value.
It has 5 stars over 228 reviews on amazon - seriously the best deal ever on an instrument.
I know that $135 is over your $100 budget, but you just arent going to get a banjo for less than that - even an open backed one.
I do it myself, I bought a ceramic stick sharpener off amazon (this one, although it appears to not be around any more -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KN3OLI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
It's super easy, like 10 minutes. Hold the blade vertically, and let the mount do the angle as needed.
Probably would pay for itself after one or two paid-sharpenings.
Anyone know if an inflatable fishing boat is something to take down the river? Specifically, this one.
Wife and I have never gone down it, but we've had this boat for several years now. Any idea where a good place to start would be?
It's about 20' high and pretty clear LOS, except for a bunch of trees and reception is noticeably better on clear days after leaves have fallen. It's a very small and cheap antenna by the way but does the job, I had the same one when I lived in an apartment and mounted it on my porch and it was good there too. Perhaps the signal will be weaker in your case due to the building but you never know until you try...do the DIY antenna and see what happens.
I have this antenna . It works great for me a little north of Fort Collins. But I have a co-worker go bought the same one and says he can't get anything in South Fort Collins. Not sure if it is location or something on his end.
One thing I did notice, I hooked it up to where the dish used to be and used the same wiring. I had to disconnect the wires from the splitter in the garage and hook up the cable from the antenna directly to the cable that went to the receiver. With a splitter in between I couldn't get a signal.
If you want a really cheap alternative. Though you do get what you pay for.
