I bought the Spigen Liquid Air, which protects the whole watch body. I really like it because the watch body is protected without appearing bulky. I didn't buy a screen protector, but the IQ Shield is very popular. Note: The Spigen doesn't have edges raised high enough. So if on a rare occasion, I were to lie my watch face down, then my screen would definitely touch the surface.

Download the Galaxy Wearable app as well as the Watch Active2 Plugin from the Play Store. You'll need these, at the very least, when pairing your phone and your smartwatch. When setting up your watch, go through each and every possible setting through both, the app and the watch itself. On the app, I haven't found a way to enable the PIN security, but I was able to through the phone with some exploration. I adjusted the settings to help preserve battery life, like turning off the Always-On Display (AOD), being picky about which phone apps I wanted to receive notifications on my watch, adjusting the heart rate monitor to only check manually, adjusting brightness, etc. Flossy Carter on YouTube posted a nice review and setup process of the watch.

As ThatFoxyThing said, the watch's keyboard is a T9. I like it because it felt nostalgic, but I can understand why others wouldn't. I don't know if there's a keyboard watch app to download as a remedy if you don't like the T9 setup.

I've experienced a few connection issues with Spotify before, but it has since been resolved so far. The app is great now for me.

I bought my 46mm LTE about 2 months ago ($380 brand new from Amazon). Prior to getting it, I purchased the Active 2 44mm to try it out since it was the newer watch. It's a very nice watch, and not to knock it, but I really didn't like the way it looked. It's a bit on the feminine side and just looks odd. I returned it the next day solely based off its design.

I have since purchased a Ringke bezel for my 46mm...it looked awesome to begin with, but the silver bezel just puts it over the top.

I run 5 miles a day with it, and workout at the gym. It records (almost) everything perfectly. Plus, even with LTE on I get outstanding battery life. So not only is it a great looking watch, it is equally a great fitness tracker.

Honestly, this little piece of tech is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time.

For an active setting I like MD 153 or SportMinimalLite, and for a more professional look I like AS_Watch_Mod or X2 Viron.

Barton makes the absolute best silicone strap, it has a curve on each strap that makes it more comfortable for a larger wrist.

LOL. Well, we all know that no keyboard is better than the other. It's what works best for you. I am pretty tall and have wide shoulders so using a regular keyboard hurts my wrists since I have to bend them. I type an average of 5 hours a day and that keyboard has been a lifesaver. Took some time to get used to it but after a day or so, I got fully used to it. Personally for work, I think it's a great keyboard.

Back to the watch, this is the one I got from Amazon. So easy to install it and remove it in case you need to change the band again for a different occasion.

I got my Active one of these and I've really liked it so far. Had it since May and feels like it does a pretty good protecting from accidental brushes against a wall or whatnot.
It completely covers the buttons, so hopefully will help avoid what happened to OP (sorry OP, that sucks).

Doesn't detract from the look of the watch either (at least with my black version) -- honestly I think it makes the watch look better.

If you decide to get one again you could try the IQShield like someone else posted. I've found it can contour to the screen's slightly curved sides which is nice. I'm pretty happy with it for daily use and scuffs. But it probably won't provide much protection against a hard direct hit to the screen.

I have these IQShield screen protectors for my 40mm (they also have them in 44mm); it was a little fiddly to put on and at first I thought the edges weren't going to stay down but after a couple hours it dried and secured nicely. Looks great, can barely tell it's there, and is smooth to swipe on for navigating. (I also used these for about a year with my old Fitbit Versa and they were a nice inexpensive option & can stay on a couple months without peeling up.)

It's not a glass protector, but it's a semi hard plastic that has a wet application. The adhesive dries as the water/soap spray dries, and it's almost invisible on the watch. Given the application process you're able to re-center it for up to a few minutes before the glue dries so it's perfectly centered every time. I highly recommend it!

At the time it was 290, looks like they have raised the price since then.

The problem is it doesn't come set with the US country code even though it says "US Edition." So Samsung Pay is NOT on the watch and cannot be installed without setting the country code correctly, which is a little bit involved, not just a setting in the menu.

Some have said that it's actually the international edition of the watch and that it won't have warranty coverage. I don't know if that's true, but there's something at least slightly shady there. I kept mine after changing the country code, but I can't recommend that seller to anyone else.

If you search "Samsung Pay" here, you'll see many others in the same situation, also in the reviews on that page. So as long as your refurbs aren't coming from the same seller, hopefully you are OK.

Aside from the slight increase in weight, I've always found metal bands to be more comfortable cuz silicone/ rubber bands tend to stick on my wrist. I've tested this out with the default band and the galaxy active band and still think metal bands are better. However if you rest your hand on a desk for too long it might get a little uncomfortable. An alternative could be leather bands but those aren't waterproof.

This band is quite comfortable, but I may switch out to the black leather one. Installing the band was an exercise of frustration - following the V-Moro install video didn't help at all, and I spent about half an hour trying to get the bands to fit. I finally got them on by installing them "backwards." Instead of doing the normal way of putting on the non-lever side first than fiddling with the pin to get it in, I installed it lever side first, then used a 1/16 jeweler's flathead screwdriver to pop the other side in. Worked soooo much easier.

I got theIQ Shieldscreen protector after I got a small scratch on my screen. It fits really well and you can't really even tell it's there, though it does feel different than the glass screen. As a bonus, I can't seem to see the scratch anymore, I'm guessing the adhesive or film sort of fill it in.

The screen protector can be a pain to apply, you have to be patient with the edges and don't get discouraged. I had a few air bubbles, but they seemed to disappear over a 3-4 days. I too have zero interest in a bezel cover.

I also ended up painting the case/cover a matte black finish, to better match everything else. It gets chips in it, from time to time. I just put another quick coat of paint on it and go from there.

I can't stand straps that don't have the curved end links. They just look out of place. This one was easy to install (uses the quick connect pins) and seems to be high quality. I've had it since around Christmas. Only complaint is no fine adjustment to size. You can only adjust by adding or removing a link.

If you check camelcamelcamel, which tracks Amazon prices, the watch only sits over $300 for a week at a time. Last time was in February through March, about 10 days.

I was looking at something like this plus a tempered glass screen protector. I haven't seen one for the 44mm yet but I would imagine it's coming out soon since they have the 40mm out.

This is the product from Ringke. I can take a shot from an angle later today. It does not look obvious that it is a stick on accessory. In fact when I show my watch to other people, they can never tell it is a separate accessory.

The adhesive for the bezel is one time use, so once you remove it, it cannot be reused.

A tachymeter is used to measure the speed of something when you know the distance its traveling.. e.g. if I know point A to B is 1 mile long and it takes X seconds to reach point B you can do some math to approximate the speed.

For me it's just a cosmetic thing since I could never remember specifically how to use it without looking it up. And I have no need for it anyways.

No issues with mine, I have a black ringke bezel cover and it always works.
