Sure thing. The removal tools are right on Garmin's site or Amazon.

Here's the band.

The 22mm 2-piece NATO strap I purchased is available right here. I bought the black one with the PVD buckle.

You could also use the 22mm 2-piece Classic Nato Straps, here, too. The classic ones are a bit shorter and thinner. They should probably fit the device a bit better since they should be easier to fit (the HD ones above -- the one that I have -- are a lot thicker and heavier duty).

Really, any 22mm 2-piece NATO strap should fit perfectly. I'm sure you could use 22mm 2-piece leather straps as well.

My opinion is buttons are better to operate, especially on the move, or when sweat/rain/water are in play.

There are touch screen friendly gloves like these (no endorsement just top search hit).

I have one of these and it is really good.

Sorry to hear about your loss.. people suck sometimes.

If you are interested I have a brand new Garmin Montana 680. I took it 4 Wheeling 1 time and didn't like it... I'm not a Gramin guy.. I wanted to be but I didn't like the functionality (or couldn't figure it out). I use a mobile app that works well out in the middle of no-where. I read a ton about different GPS's and for my application this Garmin fit my needs... but loading maps, and using the interface was too difficult (compared to my mobile app anyway).

Anyway I bought it for +$450 from Amazon a few months ago and would consider selling it for $400.. or trading for a new(ish) GoPro.

I also have this mount I'd throw in.

Here is a pic of my Amazon order history with the Garmin.

Hmm for some reason Amazon has these for $569 now... lol maybe its a collectors item.

Fun and colorful? Lots of options in silicone, nylon or this or this too , leather in colors?

u/autovonbismarck · 1 pointr/Garmin

No, although I'm considering going that route.

It was like this: https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-010-12168-09-Fenix-Fabric-Wrist/dp/B00RTWL37G

Designed to extend super long so it could be worn over a ski jacket.

Assuming the strap is knackered, DCR asserts the replacement straps from Polar work even better:

Twenty quid from Amazon or take a risk on a 3rd party option for nine quid.

Before that though, you could try medical electrolyte gel on the contacts.

Also tattooed, also have sensitive skin. Got these and love them, no reaction so far: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ASOB32Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I do use an old toothbrush to wash the insides once a week or so or they get a little gunky.

I had tried polishing off the first few scratches off my FR 645 using a polishing cloth (I had tried with this one: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0128B5JZ4/)

While the cloth works amazingly well, the scratches were too deep to be completely removed. That said, with time I just got used to seeing them.

Heat loss. When you transfer energy some of it becomes heat. Since your going battery to battery some will be lost at the point of the garmin and some will be lost from the pack.

At home this doesn't matter because your have infinite power from the grid at least in relationship to the 300mAh of the battery in the watch.

The other thing you want to make sure of is the amount of Amps it can transfer at. You want 2A or above

Something like this is small , its about the size of a lipstick and its 5,000mAh which is likely over kill for what you need. Even if between heat loss and the battery in the garmin its 1,000mAh a charge this would provide 5 .

Therei s also this guy here if you want something flatter
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P7N0320/ref=psdc_7073960011_t2_B01CU1EC6Y

Sadly these are the smallest they come in from what I can find. For something like your watch if you only needed 1 or 2 charges it be nice if there was a 2,000mAh battery as it would be much smaller but the majority of this stuff is aimed at cell phones and then tablets so you can get stuff that can charge a phone at least once all the way up to huge 50,000mAh ones that can charge tablets multiple times

Is there a way to see what "version" of HRM-RUN you are buying? It is my understanding it has minor updates yearly?

For example, can you tell which year this is?

I’ve been using these for about a year and a half:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ASOGP1A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wQY0Cb59W5279

They grab my arm hair less than Archer bands.

I don't have a watch right now I have a vivofit

I’ve got tiny wrists so it’s a military style band (like a nato band but without the extra strap) just double-wrapped around my wrist with an extra hole punched in the end.

As far as I know, the Edge 510 uses a standard mini-USB cable - I usually use an Amazon Basics cable with it, without issue.

Normally, I'd say the cable you were using was bad, especially because the Edge was getting power but no data, which seems to be a common symptom of a frayed cable. However, you did try 3 other cables, and the chances of them all being bad... well, as long as it's working, right?
