If he doesn't already have it and you can find a copy of it, I recommend "I Know What I Like" by Armando Gallo. It's fantastic.
Alternatively, there is Genesis: Chapter and Verse. You can probably find a better price elsewhere.

Armando Gallo wrote the definitive Genesis book in the 70's, and has now released it as an app with tons of audio/video content.
Here is the iTunes store link and the Kindle link. It will probably be all you need.
Other good sources are these two documentaries, and if you can find the BBC one from a couple years back (Genesis: Together and Apart), it's very good too.
