I've been researching portable dac/amps and here are a few to check out.

Fio K1- Its one of the most popular and well reviewed portable dacs at the moment. 24-bit/96khz dac/amp that is supposed to be well balance with a low noise floor for about $40.

Dragonfly Red / [Dragonfly Black] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F7L3I14/ref=dp_sp_detail?psc=1) . All the reviews and impressions I've read for these devices are that the Black not bad, but Red completely blows it away in terms of sound quality but is also about double the price at around $200.

SMSL IDEA / Sabaj Da2 - Made by the same factory and using the same chipset under different brand names. These have also been getting rave reviews due to being sub 100 dacs but have the sound quality of much more expensive dacs. Also both come with usb-c otg cables. Both seem to be more favorited than the Dragonfly. Both can be found on amazon with the IDEA being a little more expensive than the Da2.

Things to keep in mind are that there are some glitches when some of theses are connected to android phone which have work arounds.

*Hissing or screeching when plugging into phone: Start music first and then plug in dac. Changing the usb mode to midi works for some people as well.

Also the inline remote controls and mic on headphones won't work with these.

I use this for my wired headphones and it has been great. Sound quality is excellent as well. Allows the phone to be charged.

I too am interested in this. What if you wanted a durable case that also came with a screen protector? I've seen the Armor Box on Amazon.

But there is also the Caseology Parallax and of course the OtterBox Defender although I feel like Otterbox might be quite bulnky.

I got this one on Amazon. I did a ton of research and that was the best I could really get. If your phone has a case, you'll have to take it off but it does have a card and key slot so there's that. I ran a 10k in it this morning and it was good to go.

There's really a lot of variety in the cases out there, so it depends what you're after, and what you're willing to sacrifice to meet those ends.

I went with diztronic for what I felt was the best compromise between price, heft, thickness, hand feel, clean-ability, button-press ease and rigidity, and no dust collection near camera-cutout.

Curse you Spigen for messing up the Pixel 2 line-up! But I liked their Pixel 1 offerings.

Not a solution but rather a workaround...this converter has been suggested before and I bought one and it works great. I had issues with the Google dongle too and haven't had any with this one.

Can it be USB-C? This one works great for me. I'm sure the newer one works the same.

It's a 5-port multi-USB charger, with 1 USB-C port that works great for my Pixel2.

I used the same car charger I've been using since I had the Nexus 5 and just put this on it. Works fine for me.

It works. But I still mainly use BT headphones so it's just a backup for me.
