I used a variety of dough recipes before, but settled on the Neo-Neopolitan recipe in this book: American Pie by Peter Reinhart. That dough recipe with the crushed tomato sauce recipe makes for a great pizza. I think one of the big tricks is finding the right yeast (I've had great luck with Bob's Red Mill Active Yeast and SAF Instant. On the east coast I used SAF, but replaced with the Bob's when I moved to the west coast.

Both yeasts will work well. The trick with both is to let your dough do a cold rise in the fridge. I will mix everything together to create the dough, then let it rise for somewhere between 15-60 min at room temp in whatever container I'm using to hold them (to keep moisture in the dough), then I let them sit and rise in the fridge for at least 24 hours, ideally 36-72 hours. Then when you're ready to make your pizza, bring the dough out two hours prior and let it rise.

This sounds complicated because you have to plan things in advance, but it's really not. It takes a combined amount of work that totals like 40 min and you have pizza dough for a week. It's also kind of fun to do, so there is that.

One your dough is ready, you need to cook it. During some point when the dough is rising, you should make some sauce. I like the crushed tomato sauce because it tastes awesome and is way easy. Get a can of crushed San Marzano tomatoes, put them in a blender and throw in oregeno, basil, maybe some garlic, salt, and that's basically it (please see recipe in book for detailed instructions). This sauce gets cooked when it's on the pizza, so I generally make the sauce about 30 min before I plan to put the sauce on the pie. That gives the flavors enough time to mix together when I have it sitting in the fridge, on-deck to go in the pizza. Keeping the sauce cool also has a nice effect on the dough when it's cooking (keeps the top of the crush soft while the bottom gets crispy.

Ok, so you're ready to combine it all. Grab a dough ball from the counter (that was rising for the past 2 hours), and flatten it out. People do different styles, but I like to flatten the doughball into a disk, and then toss that pizza dough like I work in a pizza place. This part is fun, but takes a couple times to learn, so expect that.

Once your pizza dough is all stretched out, put some toppings on it. I think it's great to do a plan cheese the first couple of times because it helps you figure out where to work on for improvement. Once you're ready, slide that pizza on to the pizza stone/steel/whatever you're using. Depending on the temp of your oven, that should be done in 6-10 min. If you have a brick oven (i want one so badly), you can finish a pizza in 90 seconds at 1000 degrees. For normal household ovens, you want to crank it as high as it will go, and if you're using a pizza stone or steel, let that heat up at the highest temp for at least 45 min so it can store the max amount of energy that will then be transformed into a perfect crust.

Ok, so those are the basics. You should buy that book because the instructions are way better than what I gave. Also, it has lots of dough, sauce, and topping recipes, in addition to the first half of the book being a story about a journey for the perfect pizzas.

Pizza is fucking awesome and once you begin to make your own and take pride in it, you will never be able to go back to shitty corporate pizza ever again.

Also, pic of most recently baked pizza. This was a good recipe, but I'd swap asparagus for romanescos next time and I think I got lazy with the oven heating and should have let it heat the steel up for more than 30 min. Tasted amazing though.

Listen up, kiddies, because I'm here to shove some science down someone's piehole. I know I'm late to the party, but gather around for some pure logic in this cesspool of illeteracy and disinformation.

You all need look no further than their website to know they are great chaps, altruistically looking out for farmers, big and small. They brought us useful chemicals like DDT, PCBs, Agent Orange, and recombinant bovine somatotropin.

This wholesale factory of human kindness was founded by the man named John Francis Queeny (note /u/JF_Queeny). Saint Queeny married the lass Olga Mendez Monsanto and birthed Edgar Monsanto Queeny, who ironically was a conservationist bird watcher / author.

Currently, the flagship of modern technological ingenuity and compassion is helmed by Hugh Grant, whose earnings cleary and rightfully place him at an elevated state above paying taxes. Might I add that Lord Grant was placed as CEO of the Year in Chief Executive mag.

If one needs information about the benevolence of Monsanto, let it be known that many fine executives have given up high bonuses to slum it with the dregs of the regulatory world.

But as my kin so elequently wrote in this thread, show me any evidence of their wrongdoings? Alas, the FDA, EPA, and USDA has written exhaustively on the absolute safeness of their products through tireless and exhaustive clinical studies replicated in 100% unbiased labs the world over.

Those countries, nay billions of misfortunate people, who chattered incessantly about precaution, and pandora's box, and crop contamination are ill-informed nay-sayers, forever delegated to the filthy obliette of illiterate uninformed emotional repose.

Little do they know that the bastion of human perfection, and the total and plentiful agriculture awaits them if only they'd look up to the sun, and allow the holy saviour of monsanto to shower them in the warm, pale glow of scientific salvation.

> PriceZombie did not spam images with his commercial website's url.

Yes it did

look in this picture.

I see a url which is an unwanted and unexpected advert. This is spam that is posted automatically as a result of comment stalking.

> PriceZombie is not an affiliate marketing site.

Yes it is. An affiliate marketing site is a website that provides links to products that pay out affiliate commission. This is exactly what it is.

For example you recommend a thermos here.

The price zombie website offers the buy link as

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BJHS6X6?tag=price0b3-20

The "tag=price0b3-20" is an affiliate identification code.

Find out more about amazon affiliate links

So a purchase on amazon from soneone who clicks that link will earn the owner of price zombie commission. If you did not know this, then you are naive or someone has lied to you.

> I appreciate people who provide me with reviews and share information about sales and deals. It is one of the primary reasons I come to reddit.com

By your recent posting history, the primary reason you come to reddit on this account is to reccommend people use PriceZombie. You hardly ever post. I looked at the first 4 pages of your history (less than 100 posts) and it is full of pricezombies recommendations. This is approaching 10% of your recent post history.

> I don't know that I would go that far but it is pretty clear you have an agenda.

I have an agenda to document advertising on hailcorporate. That is what hailcorporate is about. This was originally more of a meta post about hailcorporate overlooking simple posts but the response have been all about Price Zombie from supporters of price zombie. I keep getting replies that amount to denial of facts and distortions of the truth. A comment like yours is exactly the kind of comment that warrants a reply.

1.) This is a commercially produced ad. Nobody has 150k+ to drop on concepting, film crew, talent, location scouting, postproduction etc... this isn't some hacked together youtube spoof. Ad agencies have been releasing 'banned' commecials for years now. It lets them do more radical spots that wouldn't be suitable for their core audience, or simply wouldn't be allowed on the air. Releasing this spot on youtube works because it appeals to their audience of kids, while not offending moms because moms don't watch youtube (at least not 10 years ago when this was released).

2.) lets look at this article that discusses Lunchables..

"This idea — that kids are in control — would become a key concept in the evolving marketing campaigns for the trays. In what would prove to be their greatest achievement of all, the Lunchables team would delve into adolescent psychology to discover that it wasn’t the food in the trays that excited the kids; it was the feeling of power it brought to their lives. As Bob Eckert, then the C.E.O. of Kraft, put it in 1999: “Lunchables aren’t about lunch. It’s about kids being able to put together what they want to eat, anytime, anywhere.”

So.. in this spot a kid is inspired by lunchables to rebel against the norms of school by playing gangasta rap over the intercom, and all his pals congradulate him... Seems dead-on brand to me.

Let's see.

From this website I can get a 5 gallon bag of cola syrup for about $35 if I order several.

According to this website, I could make 214 pint-size servings of soda from that 5 gallon bag. So disregarding the cost of a restaurant's carbonator and the soda machine itself and the network of tubes connecting all that equipment throughout the kitchen, that's about $0.16 per pint, which is the figure we need.

This price of $4.99 would put the equivalent SodaStream syrup (12 liters, or 25.4 pint-size servings per bottle) at $0.20 per pint.

I can get Dasani DROPS for $3.59. At the recommended serving size, that would give me 16 pints of flavored water at $0.22 apiece. More expensive than that even, considering that I'm sure everyone uses more than recommended.

Now, if I go to the grocery store, I can get a 2-liter bottle of cola for like, $0.80. There's 4.2 pint size servings in there at $0.19 per pint, cheaper than both flavor drops and SodaStream but more expensive than restaurant-volume syrups. Good job, /u/Nefandi! Your complaints align perfectly with reality.

I read a book called the truth about drug companies and I highly recommend it. Medicine for profit creates a world of designer maintenance drugs. Why cure something when it's more profitable to create life long dependence! Plus, we can repackage the same drugs over and over as "New" and hike up the price. We've "improved" the formula by changing it just enough to legally call it new without actually improving anything.

More money is made by keeping people sick as opposed to actually helping them. It's counter intuitive to what we think medicine should be.

Downvote me all you want, but that's exactly how they do it, and that's how they've done it for over 100 years. What the company president does is select the best plant specimens that'll be the source of seeds for the next year's crop--he doesn't look at every plant throughout Central America. I'm using these cables for my phone and keyboard (don't hate me folks. Not a shill I swear) . The ports may not be magnetic like the old Mac chargers, but this gives the same utility using the heads. Wouldn't mind doing something similar for my laptop but would need an actual power supply that supports it.

Amazon will pay you money to advertise their products. you can read more on this at this page.

Notice the URLs he posts. Amazon keeps track of which user refereed the product by giving them unique urls with a reference code.

If he was just a normal person who thought they had a deal, he would have posted the normal URL:

http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Black-Ops-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B002I0GD06/

But instead he is posting this:

http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Black-Ops-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B002I0GD06/ref=zg_bsms_videogames_5

There is ref=something on every single link he posted.

That reminds me of the old '40s ads where people would write articles about their products. I remember reading one for a gas company that, due to their incredible gasoline, could make it so that bombers could carry two extra bombs aboard their planes to drop on the Japanese. It was ridiculous then and it's ridiculous now, just nowhere near as entertaining.

Edit: I found the ad. I have the exact same thing framed and it used to be in my bedroom. Little did I know it was going for ten bucks on Amazon TM, I guess I may as well get to selling :P https://www.amazon.com/Extra-Flying-Fortress-bombs-Mobilgas/dp/B00T0CEWDU

One of the first things he talked about was promoting a shitty book by a guy named Tucker Max who makes up fake stories. And he went out, defaced the billboard for the book, then wrote in an anonymous message with the picture of the defaced billboard. And put up fliers for a protest for the book then sent that in for people.

And he just emailed writers at HuffPo and Breitbart and other such sites, he didn't even post it to Digg (this was before Reddit). Nowadays he could probably just post the stuff on Reddit and people would give it thousands of upvotes without a thought or clue.
