The wheels are both 16"x3.5" (Roland Sands Diesel), and the Coker tires are 16"x5.1". That's why the front tire looks so much "fatter" than stock. So far they've got just under 1000 miles on them. Street performance is great, and the ride is super comfortable. It took a little while to get used to turning, though; the wheels resist the turn a bit more than stock at first, but once you get started they really want to keep going.
Here's my reddit post from when I finished her last year, if you want to know more.
Good thread. Hadn't figured someone would steal a helmet I had sweated in so much, but people being people... So I just ordered this from Amazon. The reviews were good; price was right, and gotta' love Prime - I'll have it by Sunday.
I got the day lighter "knockoff" off amazon or eBay for like $60.00 with shipping. Pretty
Easy to install looks good and doesn't cost $500.00.

First, check to make sure the battery connection is tight; second, check to make sure battery has a charge; lastly, do you have fuel? When the bike is parked, keep it on a trickle charger. Attach a pigtail to your battery so you hook it up easily when you get home every night. If you're getting a click-click-click when trying to turn it over, it's probably the battery. I bought this trickle charger a while back and haven't been sorry at all. It also comes with a pigtail. Good luck.
I’m in the same boat as you. I’m looking for more of an ok rider/winter project though. Pick up Donnys unauthorized tech guide. https://www.amazon.com/Donnys-Unauthorized-Technical-Harley-Davidson-Present/dp/1475942826/ref=nodl_
I bought it and have been reading through it and it’s a gold mine. Hope someone can offer more good luck.
I can’t speak for clutch but for headlights and turn signals all I can say is Amazon. I got this LED Headlight:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B018LXCV4U?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
And these front signals:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07F1G3P1G?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
I have no complaints and they saved me probably $400 if I bought them from the dealership.
Read the reviews for reassurance if you’d like but they are a must have!
Hope this helps.
Wisamic 5.75"

Works great in my 2002, should fit the same in the '94 headlight bucket. It's a tight squeeze but it works. The light is awesome, especially compared to the OEM shitbox.
Do you know what particular model it is? I recently got an iron 883 and purchased this LED headlamp off Amazon and it is awesome!!! Super easy install and makes a hell of a difference at night!
LED Headlamp
K) I also need a phone mount and how the F do you get a charger or "cigarette lighter" to keep the phone charged for the Waze.
Battery Tender 12 Volt Junior Automatic Battery Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CITK8S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_aJygDb3YPNVR9
Battery Tender 081-0158 Quick Disconnect Plug with USB Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DJ5KEF4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PHygDbY6Z9FSG
That gives you a charger and a battery tender.
I have this mounted to the dash extender on my Dyna:
SCOSCHE MAGDMB MagicMount https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I608BJ8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_lKygDb5V5QAWE
It's been rock solid for years (the tank is higher than the phone so wind doesn't catch it) and it's not mounted to the handlebars where it can distract me or vibrate loose. My post history has pictures but I've never seen a Sportster with a tank mounted dash so you'd have to stick it on the paint.
And this in the windshield of my truck too:
SCOSCHE MAGHDGPS MagicMount https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q69U8YM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_aLygDb46TW35Y
For etiquette, I keep just about everything to a quick wave or beep-beep at most. If I happen to see some others, I usually just fall in line with them as far as our paths are the same. I ride in the back of the group and keep about the same amount of space the rest of the group has. If they ride side to side, I get as close as I feel comfortable (and that isn't side by side lol). If they're staggered, I stay staggered too. Stop lights are different. Pull right up next to them and give them a quick head nod or maybe a compliment lol
Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but this is the one I have:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DZU30S0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_exGSJbUqNpNv9
It's $50.99 and looks just like the Daymaker. Ive had it for about a month now and it's been great. Easy to install, no extras needed, and no issues with it so far.
Not sure the years, but any EFI sportster tank. 2010 and up should be safe. The hole should be on the left side of the bottom of the tank if the tank is sitting normally. Carbed tanks have their hole on the right.
Something like this should work:
http://www.amazon.com/Bikers-Choice-EFI-Sportster-Tank/dp/B00JDPVJG2
If you want official, the part number for a 3.3 gallon off of a 2015 '883 is 61348-07, but they're 500 just primed.
Go here: http://www.shopronniesharleydavidson.com/
And click on the parts micro fiche. They don't have '16 48s there yet, but you should be able to use 2015.
Start by buying this. Then the FACTORY service manual. The older manuals aren't great, but you'll need it. You're also gonna need a few specialty tools that the manual will tell you of, depending on what needs to be gone through- clutch hub puller, transmission sprocket nut socket, 4 speed shifting fork timing tool, timing light for ignition, torque wrenches, a bottle or blue 243 LocTite and a bottle of high-temp anti-seize compound.
After that, it's a matter of good mechanical habits, using LocTite on all fasteners that don't get anti-seize compound, and so on. Read the Donny Peterson book. It's filled with useful stuff you'll encounter.
I got a Daymaker style LED off of Amazon for less than $50 and it's amazing. Even during the day I can see it's reflection off of road signs. I highly recommend it.

> The lights that blockhead used i cant even find on revilla or j&p cycle.
He used an Amazon Chinese special. They're actually reasonably reliable, and there are plenty out there for Fat Bob as well. If it's Amazon, the returns policies are pretty good if it's a dud.
Ram X mount. This is the handlebar clamp option but you can also get a mount for your brake reservoir or handlebar clamp bolt mount. This is the best mounting system I've ever owned.

And these cheap foglights
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01E69KPFU/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have a real hard time driving my car at night. I cant see crap unless I have my high beams on.
Honestly I wasnt impressed with the headlight at first, but once it was aimed properly Im quite happy. The fogs are almost to bright. Being a new rider I was very apprehensive about driving at night. Last night I had no choice and I will now say that ill take my bike over my car in the dark every time. I was able to see everything much better than the high beams on my car. This was running the low beam and fogs.
On a side note, I am now being told I have to lead if im in a group because my lights are so bright.
Seconded (thirded?). I bought a can of high heat paint off amazon for a rebuild that I ended up letting a buddy use on his Sporty's pipes. disassemble the whole shebang and tape over the ends, paint it on a nice day, let it totally dry. This stuff goes on almost like primer so it didn't need much prep work either.

I got the one made by Sunpie on Amazon. Love it. 5-3/4 5.75 Daymaker LED Headlight for Harley Davidson Motorcycle Headlamp Projector Driving Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018LXCV4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Uq75yb2FQGAQV
This is the one I bought 2 years ago. It has been running great! Plus, it shouldn't have any issues with any sporty, I put this on my 2014 iron, and then later my 04 roadster lol
Now that I look at that page again though, theres one with a halo, I might purchase it lol
I went with this one for $50 from Amazon. Side-by-side, the only difference I can make out with an HD Daymaker is the little bar and shield w/ a light in the bottom-center. I've been running it for a few months now and it's a great light. Also, with Prime shipping, I had it two days after placing the order.
I got a daymaker rippoff from Amazon and it works great. 50.00.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DZU30S0/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492538569&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=daymaker+headlight
I'm surprised no one has mentioned a flat repair kit. Either fix a flat cans (usually need two) for tubed tires or plugs for tubeless. The plug kits are awesome and small http://www.amazon.com/Stop-Go-International-Tubeless-Plugger/dp/B001BBSD9C/ref=sr_1_29?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1381160933&sr=1-29&keywords=tire+plug+kit comes with co2 cannisters to fill it up.
I also carry a different set of glasses so I can switch from day to night riding, and a couple tools, rain gear if there is a chance of it.
Point you in the direction...
Honestly, just start watching as many youtube videos and reading as much as you can. I guess I would start with these two books:
The Original Wild Ones
[Hell's Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga](http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0760335370?pc_redir=1412297263&robot_redir=1]
You can also start reading up on motorcycle club history in general.
Or, you know, find an established club and go hang around with them. Books and the internet will teach you a lot, but going out and living it is eve better.
You're good on the kickstand, just roll the bike forward a few inches every few weeks so the tires are not always resting on the same spot all winter. Also, you can pick [this Black and Decker] (https://www.amazon.com/Decker-BM3B-Battery-Charger-Maintainer/dp/B0051D3MP6) tickle charger up for $20. If you don't have the $23 to spend to get a trickle charger, well you mentioned Christmas gifts. Ask for one and wait another 25 days.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018LXCV4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0VyJDbS9S9NHS
This headlight plugged right into my 03 Night Train without any modifications or extra parts being needed. Turn signals, on the other hand, require a load equalizer if you’re replacing all four with LEDs. I use two LEDs up front and everything works fine. Replacing all four with LED without adding an equalizer will make the bike act as if a bulb is burnt out (rapid flashing).
Get yourself a trickle charger. like this one. If the battery isn't too far gone, the trickle charger should revive the battery and let you start the bike.
I bought one off Amazon for 20 bucks. Here it is:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00062YWNI/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you have an OEM gauge, it'll fit in there. Don't second guess it, just do it.
if you look on amazon you can get a battery tender for fairly cheap. With my bike I plug it in when I put it in storage and unplug it when I'm ready to ride. I don't do anything else to the bike to winterize except change the oil in the spring.
Edit: Here's the tender I bought, it's 25 bucks...(https://smile.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-021-0123-Junior-Charger/dp/B000CITK8S/ref=lp_15707061_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1480528572&sr=1-2)
Do you have quality lighting? If not I upgraded my halogen bulb to an LED headlight I found on amazon and it made a huge difference.
Amazon link here.
Thanks man!
The headlight is one of the cheap amazon ones. So far no issues.
Wisamic 5-3/4" 5.75" LED Projection Daymaker Headlight for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles 9 pcs Bulb-Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DZU30S0?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

$10 and may just save your ass if your phone dies out on the road and you need help, or to look up directions, etc....
To add to this suggestion, this paint works well:
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B003CT4AKC/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_alFVCbDETHETK
Sure thing. I got the fairing off Amazon for around 30 bucks
Front
Fairing
It comes as a "translucent black" so I just lightly sanded and sprayed it black. Bolts right on to the headlight screws.
Appears to be a good design. The only spot I could see water being a problem would be the the 2-pole connection, but you do not have to use that or could hide the connection in the battery compartment. But for $40 I would attempt to make this myself. Just make sure you have an inline fuse. Or look at this and it even has USB. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FR2JF0W/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_x5XEub01RE0HP. If you are looking for just USB there is this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DJ5KEF4/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_A8XEub0EXCW4G
Battery tender JR on amazon is probably the most common and highest rated battery tender available.

I got the Daymaker knock off for my '16 Sportster from Amazon for $50 and it's been perfect. Bight as all hell. and was a breeze to install.

i find it hard to believe a $400 headlight is necessary...
To add to the Garmin comments, I have decided to switch to a gps instead of my phone simply because I have many times found myself in an area of poor cell reception-and no cell means no GPS. This is especially irritating when I have GPS'd my way TO that spot, and now can't hit the cell tower to put in a new destination.
Anyways after much consternation I finally bought the super expensive Zumo 595LM. In this day and age it REALLY hurt my feelings to drop that kind of cash on a gps when Google Maps works so great AND has live traffic. But anyways, its hard wired to the bike and has a bonus USB plug all its own. So now I can run the GPS all day long AND leave my phone plugged in through the Garmin cord so I can run Waze. Good stuff.
A much cheaper solution (and what I have been doing up until then) is to drop 10 bucks on Amazon for a trickler charger to USB plug, THIS ONE. Pro tip, I buy a usb cord (or lightning cord for a fruit phone) and electrical tape it to this plug so the connection is nice and tight. In the past I've had the cord jiggle which was really irritating having my phone wake up and go to sleep, wake up and go to sleep. Also it eventually burned out my Amazon plug. So get a nice charging cord and dedicate it to the bike. Never a problem since. Just toss that cord/plug combo in your saddlebag with your RAM mount when not in use.
No doubt. When you decide to, this light upgrade is a must. The stock headlight could probably be outperformed by my iPhone’s flashlight lol.
There's this one I've seen in various shops
Stop & Go 1001 Tire Repair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001BBSD9C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_4v0yDb9Z0WQGM

I swear by it. It's the only thing I use on my Harley. Chrome/Paint/Glass. Look no further.
Which light??? Sorry I was on business. If you're talking about the headlight I got it as a steal from amazon. Wisamic 5-3/4" 5.75" Round LED Projection Daymaker Headlight for Harley Davidson Motorcycles Black 9 pcs Bulb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DZU30S0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7dOqzbHE35FWS

I actually bought this. At the time that I was doing my mods, it was shortly after I bought the bike so I was trying to save money. I hacked off the stock housing (...by hand. Bought a cheap 10 dollar saw, took a while to do), ground it down with the same brother in law's grinder, and smoothed it out with some epoxy. Didn't come out perfect, but in more able hands it would be (this was the first time I tried anything like this).
I wrapped the speedo in a layer of electrical tape, and then a layer of hockey tape, and it fit perfectly in the autometer bracket. Its attached to the bolt that holds the front of the gas tank to the frame. I may have had to drill a bigger hole in the sides of the arm of the autometer bracket to get those bolts in there (with the nuts), but I think I did that because it was the only bolts I had laying around...
Here's a shot of it from the top. Since the bars are low my seating position is a little weird, but I can see from about 20mph to 80mph without moving my head. I get NO vibration on it, which is good.
Here's a shot from the side. Ignore the shitty wires from the coil relocate. It was all they had at the store, and I haven't gotten around to replacing them yet. They are too long so they are looped around, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of cleaning up the wires anyway...oh well.
Sorry for the shitty cell phone pictures and the messy wires lol. I'll eventually get around to cleaning them up too, but my bike is mostly a commuter, so people usually don't get that close to see my novice work.
