>Over and done with the comics or with the movies? I can say that they actually did end up making some good Batman movies, which you wouldn't have known if you stopped keeping up with them in the 90's. They actually achieved making a good one.
I meant movies, and I think I've seen all of them (there might be a VOD animated film I missed). My three favorite are still pre-Nolan (the two Burton ones and Mask of the Phantasm).
I don't hate the Nolan films, but I think they're all in the 3-6 range and just seem mediocre.
Which is/are the good ones you're referring to?
>She seems almost overpowered to me, from what I've read. Like Marvel is finally introducing their Superman. I don't have high hopes for it, but I'd love to be wrong.
That's exactly what she is. She is superman. The comics are set apart from normal superhero fare, though, in that it's about her characterization rather than plot resolution. It's very tasteful, and she's still coming to terms with it - and her universe is entirely populated with superheros, because at the point where she became the next Captain Marvel (there have been 4? I think?), every single Marvel storyline has converged into chaos (x-men, inhumans, avengers, gotg, etc). In fact that universe is so overwhelming, I don't think I could navigate it enjoyably except through Danvers.
If you feel like trying it, start with this omnibus.
>What about the Marvel Netflix shows?
Idk. I was really keen on Jessica Jones for the first half of the show. After that half-way point, it just seems like the acting and production values were suddenly so much lower, like they ran out of time and money. The writing itself didn't end poorly, but it wasn't amazing anymore. I might try and catch Luke Cage at some point (he was one of my biggest problems in the second half of JJ), but I plan on staying far away from Iron Fist. That's scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas, I think.
Yeah, I've seen better likenesses of Russell on the same toy, I think the particular one I bought is kinda middle of the road. The same Groot comes with Baby Groot and the little dancing seedling from the first movie, but both of those are so tiny I just like the full-grown one better, and Rocket comes with yet another Baby Groot in Ravager uniform...
And I wish! I actually checked Amazon for the Keaton Batman and it's like 200 fucking dollars for some reason...: https://www.amazon.ca/Neca-Batman-Figure-Michael-Version/dp/B00BJAGP90/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys&ie=UTF8&qid=1504477982&sr=1-2&keywords=batman+1989+neca
Yeah, I mean, OLED is amazing. I'm not denying that. But you don't have to get an OLED to have a fantastic picture. I got this TV back in May, and out of the box it looked like total crap. After spending an afternoon getting it calibrated, it looks really great.

Don't watch those films yet. They're just shortened remakes of certain episodes from the main series. It's better to watch the main series first.
The series has a Blu-Ray release here in the UK and it's great quality:

That book sounds very interesting. Does it elaborate much on Malick's 20 year gap between Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line? I always wondered why it took so long for Malick to make another film. I know he spent a lot of his time in France, worked on numerous screenplays and didn't completely isolate himself from the business, but it still fascinates me.
Yes it is! Here's a link to Amazon if interested: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seven-Japanese-Tales-Vintage-International-x/dp/0679761071/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1498101308&sr=1-1&keywords=Seven+Japanese+Tales
