FYI, Amazon cites this one as the "newer version" for $39.99: https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Camera-6-Lane-Motion-Recording/dp/B07HVNCQF3 looks like form factor has changed a bit, but still has great reviews. Seems like a great value.
Not the same person, but after reading around a bit I bought an Aukey DR01. It has really good quality, even in low light/night (no "night vision" infrared mode though). It has most of the basic features and is only like $60 on Amazon. You'll still need to buy an SD card, but really 16/32GB is good enough, just make sure it's class 10 minimum.

Wait, I'm famous??? Lol
And I was recommended the Apeman Dash Cam. I'm just not sure if I want to spend the extra $50 to get the rear camera as well. But I'm a bit tight on budget and have been recommended this one as a good cheap dash cam. It has great reviews, as well.
Check out techmoan's review on YouTube over this one front and rear camera from Aukey. He gives it a pretty good review and the quality is great for the price. It also has a capacitor instead of a battery so you won't have to worry about it dying when you need it most to save whatever file it's recording. He has lots of other dashcams that he's reviewed if you search a little.
Edit: here's a link to the Amazon page for the Aukey DR02

It's Veckle Mini 0906
At first, the quality was set to fine and it was a little blurry, but after switching it to Super Fine, the quality is awesome.
I bought the Rexing V1LG. I'm very happy with it, and it was a great value for a front & rear cam. This particular camera was recommended to me by someone who's had their Rexing for 2 years. Supposedly their customer service is also very good if you have questions or issues.

It's a CrossTour CR300! $38 on Amazon and one of the best dashcams I've ever owned. Highly recommend. I live in Florida and drive a black car, so in the summer it frequently gets over 100 degrees and inside my car probably gets to 120. Haven't had a single issue* with the camera getting overheated or falling from its suction mount.
*I guess the only "real" issue is when my 64gb SD card filled up, the camera would record for a few minutes and then automatically power off because it ran out of space to record. As soon as I deleted irrelevant clips and freed up space, it worked perfectly again.
Most dashcams record 24/7. I'd go on r/dashcam and find a good one. The one OP linked doesn't have the greatest reviews. This one

Seems good
Edit: or the ROAV A1 someone else posted is good too. Really, if it has 25+ reviews and it has above 4 stars it’s probably pretty good. Watch some YouTube videos of the video quality just to make sure though
Here’s a link to the one I use. Works like a dream, easy to install/use, and it’s a great value

7 IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS AND EASY TO USE - Loop recording, motion detection, on/off audio, license plate stamp, time stamp, auto power off, screen saver, burst photo. All of these functions basically cover what you need for daily driving. Comes with 1 suction cup, easy to use.
BUILT-IN G-SENSOR CAR DASH CAMERA - Automatically detect a sudden shake/collision and lock the footage to prevent the video from being overwritten even in loop recording. Accident scene can be truly restored.
170° WIDE-ANGLE 6G LENS CAR CAMERA - Larger viewing angle to be recorded, captures 4 lanes of traffic.
Read the reviews, but I’m happy with it.
You're going to be surprised at how simple they are once you do put in some time to research them.
Mine is as simple as sticking it to the top of my windshield and plugging it in to the power. It will probably come with one of those power adapters that plugs into the circular-shaped power port (that cigarette lighter thing), but I got one of these and a long USB power cable instead, since it takes up less space and gives me an extra USB plug so I can charge whatever else.
I'd suggest this one, it's the one I have. The instructions are super easy to follow, and it has everything you need. They also have a comprehensive tutorial on their website if you need it.
You don't need to be techie to install a dashcam. You just need the dashcam and a few minutes. It must have taken me a total of 15 minutes to get my car set up with mine, and that includes the time it took to hide the wire properly.
One more note, if you are going to consider buying one. If your car gets hot while it's parked, consider getting a model that is detachable (like the one I referenced - you stick a small piece of plastic that allows the cam to clip on or off) or one that is mounted to the rear-view mirror. When your car gets hot, it softens the adhesive or suction, and the weight of the dasmcam might pull it away. In my case, the small piece of plastic is so light that it doesn't matter, I simply put it on and take it off when I need to. And if it's clamped to the mirror, the heat is a non-issue.
For consistency's sake, here's a link to the one I got
Built in screen lets you review video from the camera itself. Saves to micro SD card. I highly suggest getting one like this "SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring Card" made specifically sustained constant writes. (Since it is constantly saving video)
It plugs in via USB to the cigarette lighter thingy in your car. I got one like this so I would have extra USB ports for charging phones, while still having my two spots for the dash cams. It comes with its own which I think has two USB ports total. I just wanted more ports.
When the device receives power, it boots up on its own, and turns off on its own when you turn off the car.
The way it writes video, it saves it in increments that are a few minutes long (You can set the duration) and when the SD card runs out of space, it just over-writes the oldest movie it has saved.
If you get in an accident, or just see something neat you want to save, there's a button you can press to make sure it saves the specific movie.
Since you'd have the long cables routing all over your vehicle, it's wise to route it so it doesn't get in the way/is hidden. I actually did need longer cables, but fortunately this dashcam uses a mini USB to standard USB.
EDIT: If you do not have a computer (and only a phone or tablet) your options for transferring the files from the Micro SD card are either getting an adapter to read micro SD on your respective phone or tablet, or buying a dashcam specifically with bluetooth connectivity if you would rather go that route.
Check out Anker or Aukey brands on Amazon. Super cheap with a slew of great reviews. I got my Roav for about $60 on a Kinja Lightning Deal and can't imagine driving without one!
There's an Aukey dash cam for $29 with 10% off on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HVNCQF3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_L-YEDb3ZHCE7N
AUKEY Dual Dash Cam HD 1080P Front and Rear Camera
It was $97 when i bought it in July but looks like it's $130 now. still a great camera for the money.
If you’re willing to spend a little more, I love my Rexing dash cam. It has a front and back camera, and you can download an app on your phone to watch the videos, it even connects through WiFi.
Edit: it also records your speed, which I love!
I got this aukey cam and I really like it: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B075S7W6FR/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527127539&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=aukey+dual+dash+cam&dpPl=1&dpID=41S%2Btz6NMeL&ref=plSrch
Here's a video from it that I made: https://youtu.be/xo90JRwRo_o
The length of each clip can be adjusted but 5 mins at a time seems good. I have a 64 gig sd card in it and I think it still has every moment saved since I installed it a few months ago.
That was my philosophy too, the only ticket i got was that aforementioned one I got out of, thankfully my father just randomly bought me mine for christmas one year.
Here's the one i've used for the past few years. It's cheap for sure (and worked well enough to save my butt).

Love my roav

This is the one i use and i absolutely love it, has a mode for whem your car is parked and it monitors surrounding and the video quality is really good
This is a pretty cheap one I got on sale for about $42, works great! 1080p 30fps or 720p 60 fps
Apeman Dashcam 1080p 170 wide angle. $49.99 on Amazon. The instructions are in Chinese but it’s the highest rated dash cam on Amazon and their support is A+
Edit: Just found another Apeman for $39.99 APEMAN Dash Cam Dashboard FHD 1080P Car Camera DVR Recorder with 3.0" LED Screen, Night Vision, G-Sensor, WDR, Loop Recording, Parking Monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078LR9ZPX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_YYEpDb1EV81M4
That camera is awesome but if you live somewhere that gets really hot in the summer (gets up to 100 where I live pretty routinely) you may want to consider getting a camera that runs off of a capacitor instead of a battery. This is what I got when my last one melted.
No offense to OP but this is a better product for the same price. Anker makes great stuff
Roav DashCam A1, by Anker, Dash Cam, Dashboard Camera Recorder, 1080P FHD, Nighthawk Vision, Wide-Angle View, WiFi, G-Sensor, WDR, Loop Recording, and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076GYGVY5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_QHmO58pDnQSMT
The exact model that I have is discontinued. I'd definitely go with the sidebar for /r/dashcams, their most basic suggestion is $60, and they're certainly a better judge of quality than I am.
posted a reply to op but thought you might want to look into this

If you’re interested, it’s a great beginner cam. If you get it, make sure you get no larger than a 32 gb micro SD.
Thanks, it’s an apeman dual dashcam. It has a rear view as well. I’ve been pleased with it so far.

I agree that /r/dashcams is a good place to start. My most recent camera I purchased is this Auckey dual dash cam (front and rear). It has worked out well for the 6 months I have been using it.
Been using this one for a little while.
It’s extremely reliable, has great resistance to heat and cold. Unfortunately, no interior camera. That’s a tough one to find all 3. But this one is superb. Highly recommended.
Get the rear/dual camera too!
I got this one 7 months ago and it works great
AUKEY Dual Dash Cam, 1080P HD Front and Rear Camera, 6-Lane 170° Wide-Angle Lens, Night Vision, G-Sensor, Dual-Port Car Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075S7W6FR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_yH4TCbV1DDVWA
Same! I got one of these AUKEY.
For some reason ever since I gotten it everyone's been nice and safe about driving
Get the dashcam. Totally worth it. I've had a Rexing V1P for about 6 months now and I don't think I'll ever drive without one again.
The Rexing V1 Basic is $50 on Amazon, and the V1 is $100, and Amazon has a 20% off coupon right now to make it $80.

Just bought on Amazon, just make sure if you do get one, it has a capacitor and not a battery. It'll suffer the Texas heat better. The one i have is cheap, but it works well enough until I upgrade to a higher quality that has both front and rear cameras.
Yeah just spend some time researching if you have specific needs. I got this one and it fits my requirements fine:
AUKEY Dash Cam, Dashboard Camera Recorder with Full HD 1080P, 6-Lane 170° Wide Angle Lens, Supercapacitor, G-Sensor and Clear Nighttime Recording https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072FGL63X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_nKS6CbYK6RHPQ
I have a Viofo A119 I’ve had for a few years now that I’ve had good luck with. There are a few different A119 variants but they all seem to do well. Here is a link to something similar to what I have.
There is a newer model that’s even cheaper.
I know you’ve gotten a few suggestions, but I use this guy: https://www.amazon.com/Channel-Dashboard-Recorder-G-Sensor-Recording/dp/B01EX8ATKK
It’s front and back and I really like it. I haven’t had to use any of the footage (thankfully) but it’s a good picture. Front quality is a bit better than back but it’s still good. Only real negative I have come across is with the rear camera at night, it can’t pick up much if there are too many headlights behind me. Day it’s perfect though. Don’t have that problem with the front camera with lights. It operates on looped footage so it will overwrite the oldest. You can do it in 3,5 and 10 minute increments (I think). It also saves any footage if it detects a collision so you don’t have to worry about that getting overwritten
That new Viofo A129 and that knockoff GoPro thing I've been eyeballing are looking better and better every week.
My A119 is an excellent camera, but I saw some footage on /r/roadcam this past week and the A129 looks so much better.
I just got a Veckle 0906 and really like it so far. It comes with a rear cam as well.

These are pricier but are very nice.
We just installed this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075S7W6FR after review by techmoan. It's way more expensive, but it's a very nice dual cam.
Anker Roav DashCam A1, Dash Cam for Car, Driving Recorder, 1080p FHD LCD Screen, Nighthawk Vision, Wide Angle Lens, Wi-Fi, G-Sensor, WDR, Loop Recording, Night Mode, Motion Detection, Dedicated App https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076GYGVY5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_QA2hDbV958NY0
This is the one I use personally
It’s pretty good for 50ish bucks, decent low light performance if you position it correctly
This one has paid for itself 10x over in the two wrecks I've had within the past year. Once was in a parking garage and the other time I got rear-ended and pushed into the car in front of me.
It's an investment, but it's well worth it in my experience.
I use this one. I've had no trouble with it and I love the clarity. The wire is extra long so you can tuck it into the paneling of your car and wrap it around to a power source. It looks really nice with no exposed or dangling wires. I also like that it automatically turns on and off with the car ignition so I never have to touch the camera. Just drive and forget.
The Look on her face is priceless.
Btw, This is the one I got. Nothing fancy, but it's a good quality camera. Aukey Dashcam
This is the one I have:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M592J9C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I haven't looked into them in a couple of years so there may be better options by now. I like this one though because it's fairly cheap (I don't care about the bells & whistles others have), and some of the parts are made by Sony. It's also lasted through a couple of GA summers, so it seems to be reliable.

I got a Rexing dual camera dashcam
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071LPV7G6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_w6BwCbPN4QMS2
It works pretty well and it has continuous recording. No night vision mode sadly. Other than that it works just fine.
EDIT: I believe this is the camera with 1080p on both cameras. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EX8ATKK/ref=sspa_dk_detail_8?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01EX8ATKK&pd_rd_w=fdHEq&pf_rd_p=10ebaf99-73de-4f5d-a994-e7f5fc52f86f&pd_rd_wg=42xXH&pf_rd_r=3CS0ZMVZKNFQJNV5V8R0&pd_rd_r=5834fe18-29c3-11e9-950e-c9e76c8cf3b3
Hey! Here’s the link, it’s a bit pricey but was totally worth it in this case.

I use the B1W which is 40 bucks right now. It's a popular cheap option.
I personally like my Roav Dash cam. Roav S1

This one.
This is the one I have, looks like full price is $99.
The quality is good but depending on how far away the car is/lighting it might not grab the plate. Rexing has a 4K model but not sure how the quality is with that one. If you leave the mic on, I always make it a point to read the plate out loud so I have it recorded.
Tried looking it up and turns out I bought it on a different account. So the one I actually bought is the one in this article. The problem being... the listing is now something completely different??
Anyways, this one is close both in price and function of the one I bought. I was worried about people stealing the dash cam if they saw it so I thought maybe disguising it as just her mirror would keep her car safer. Hope that helps. :)
You can't go wrong with the $30 Crosstour as a starter
I bought this one. I like it a lot. Plus, it uses a capacitor in stead of a battery, so you won't have to worry about a swelling, possibly bursting, lithium battery:

There are two types of camera sets.
There is one that is for taxi/ride-share drivers that has a camera that faces forward and a camera that faces inward.
There is another set that has a forward facing camera and then a rear facing camera.
Viofo A129, front and back cams. There’s also the Viofo A119 that’s just the front one

Get the one that OP has and I have as well
https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Wide-Angle-G-Sensor-Dual-Port-Charger/dp/B075S7W6FR
I've had it for a year now no issues whatsoever, also on the plus side it's FRONT and BACK
Not 100% sure, but OP's comment history show
"Crosstour Dash Cam 1080P FHD Mini in Car Dashboard Camera with Park Mode, G Sensor"
This one is $30, probably the one

AUKey DR01. Got it on an amazon deal day a few weeks ago. First clip I've saved. Was cheap, great 'first dashcam' option for me. Found a power kit that I tapped into the cigarette lighter wiring, ran cable around the windshield to hide. Wish I could do a rear camera easily, but it's a convertible and I'm not about to go crazy with my 2-month old Benz. Maybe when my debt ratio decreases.

Discrete and highly recommended by me. Footage is as good as a modern cell phone and audio is crystal clear if you want to record that too.
AUKEY Dash Cam, Dashboard Camera Recorder with Full HD 1080P, 6-Lane 170° Wide Angle Lens, Supercapacitor, G-Sensor and Clear Nighttime Recording https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072FGL63X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oZY7CbSH5X5SZ
I did catch a fatal accident on it (but I won’t post the footage out of respect). I handed it to police and hopefully it helped make sure the wrong person wasn’t blamed.
Also caught me getting hit head on in the snow (luckily not too fast) and the guy fled. Unfortunately front license plates aren’t required here though.
Model of? Dash Cam? I have this one (https://www.amazon.com/Rexing-Dashboard-Recorder-G-Sensor-Recording/dp/B00X528FNE), there's different versions/models from them. But I just wanted something basic and didn't want to spend a lot in case it turned out to be crap. Then you can get these https://www.amazon.com/10-Pack-Add-circuit-Adapter/dp/B01DYQM6EO and tap into a fuse if you don't have a free/open one.
I've been meaning to buy one for a while. This video spurred me into action. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07GRV85NP/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3EIWO8B4N47Q5&psc=1
I bought this one with the 128Gb card and mount. If someone rear ends because they're texting, eating, or reading a damn book, I want video proof so they incur any additional charges for distracted/reckless driving.
