Native Instruments is pretty good as far as product service goes, so you'll probably hear back right away. Unfortunately, I'm not sure about the answers to your questions.

I still strongly suggest to find someone getting rid of a used copy. The whole package is definitely pricey, especially if you only need a few pieces from it.

I still have Kontakt 3, from when it was sold as a standalone piece. It has a full library of orchestral sounds that you can develop via MIDI. I'm not sure if the free player has limitations, but my assumption is "probably."

The sounds are very realistic for their price range. The real benefit here is the player though. You can play pretty much anything. So, you can sample another orchestra's recording, slice it, mix it, then use it however you want in Kontakt.

I saw on amazon that someone is selling Kontakt version 3 (which will definitely do what you want) for $149. Check it out.

The 2018 Mac mini supports SODIMM DDR4 2666 MT/s memory. There are only TWO slots on the Mac mini so keep that in mind. Here is the ram I got. It’s not as easy as the iMac to upgrade ram, so you’ll need special torx screwdrivers. They are pretty cheap though and you can find some on Amazon. Just google Mac Mini 2018 RAM replacement and follow one of the videos. IFixit has one.

I should caution you, SOME people are experiencing audio issues with T2 Macs. The Mac mini is a T2 Mac and you may encounter some of these issues. Personally, I have not experienced ANY issue with audio on my Mac mini. I’ve used both USB and Thunderbolt interfaces at every sample rate, and it’s totally fine. Maybe I got lucky... I don’t know.

If you want to be safe, you may just want to find a refurbished 27” iMac on the Apple store. Ram is easy to upgrade, and you’ll be able to find a cheaper model that’s refurbished. Refurb products are basically like new if you’re getting them from Apple.

There is a kindle book, that came first. We made it first as a book, and then as an app. Maybe for IOS users for now it may be interesting. Kindle book is a little better, because it has all words in categories. For example word Compression and all relative terms to compression, etc. So, just put a link if anyone interested.

So here’s what I’m thinking...

Using this Behringer interface I should be able to use these 4 inputs along with a usb Audio-technica a2020 and a m-audio guitar usb interface for my other 2 inputs.

My only concern if the interface will run properly of the laptop power alone?
