My personal recommendation: Take the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohms version.

On Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-770-PRO-250-ohms/dp/B0016MNAAI?th=1

Reasons:

  1. High impendance. Puts the ESS Sabre Audio DAC to good use.
  2. Excellent sound quality. Basses are well reproduced with excellent audio clarity.
  3. Closed back: If you require near-perfect audio cancellation, this is for you.
  4. No gimmicks: You get a quality headset with no useless gimmicks such as virtual sorround (often baked to inflate perceived value, such as the Beats By Dre shills).
  5. Compatible with mod mics: If you prefer external microphone support, such as these by AntLion, you're in for a treat: https://www.amazon.com/Antlion-Audio-ModMic-Attachable-Microphone/dp/B00T6XUL8S

Speaking from experience, as that combination is my daily driver.

What do you get from all this?

(a). Independent volume control for both chat (via the mic) and in-game and audio output (via the headset).
(b). No compromises: Should you prefer to repurpose this headset for professional audio production, say, in a studio, any high-powered DAC will drive it.

Note that the ESS Sabre Audio is rated to drive up to 600 Ohm headsets, so it should be able to drive anything in the market. The reason I recommend the 80 Ohm over the 250 Ohm headset is because the perceived audio quality between the two headsets is almost identical, for a much more affordable entry point.

    Have fun.

That's a different version than the one I have. I actually upgraded mine with the firecuda sshd as well and that's working great for me although I bought a 2.5mm spacer because I'm OCD and the old drive was 9.5mm height. My MSI wasn't equipped with an area for an additional ssd but you could try something like this if you have an optical drive you won't use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004XIU4T2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_UXUTAb5HW5R6F.

Please know that I didn't look at the specs for your specific laptop and don't know if this one will fit. I would imagine there is something similar available if you really need a second SSD. If you go this route you'll wanna make sure your laptop has a SATA connector to plug into and that the expansion bay will physically fit into your laptop.

Edit: I think the drive expansion I linked is for a standard size ssd also. If you buy the smaller laptop specific ssd you'll need something else

it looks like PS4 has a remote play feature which might be easier and shouldn't require any extra hardware, http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/game/how-play-ps4-on-pc-using-pc-remote-play-playstation-now-streaming-2016-3630864/

otherwise i've heard good about the elgato capture card, https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Systems-Capture-Definition-Recorder/dp/B00840353W

if you go with streaming i highly recommend using a wired ethernet connection for both the playstation and laptop

I’ve been using this cooler master pad for like 3 years I think? I got it for like $5 after a rebate. I know people don’t like these but this one has worked for many laptops without issue. I’ve seen a few degrees drop, and living in Arizona anything helps with cooling! I recommend this.

http://www.toptenreviews.com/computers/peripherals/best-laptop-coolers/

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003FO0LG6 (point it at the laptop, blowing over the surface)

But again, there SHOULD NOT be screen flickering. I'd suggest asking some folks at r/pcmasterrace or r/nvidia about that because it sounds more like a hardware problem...? What temps are you getting to when this starts to happen? I traditionally don't get any higher than 75-90 C at worst, and but my game room is in the basement so it's naturally quite a cool environment. If it's a warm day and I know I'll be gaming for a while I use a laptop cooling pad (Notepal X3) and then diy'd a USB fan-heatsink combo that I put on top of the laptop where the metal gets hot. This normally allows for sub 75 C temps which is more than safe. It's also noisy but I sit away from my laptop (big screen gamer) so that doesn't cause an issue.

Thanks for your answer. Mine is not a mickey mouse end, it's like this : https://www.amazon.fr/LogiLink-CP095-C%C3%A2ble-dalimentation-Schuko-C13/dp/B003Y5IG2W/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1493403216&sr=8-3&keywords=power+cord

But the plug also has a 10amp fuse inserted in it (it looks like this: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/BS-approval-13A-fuse-uk-plug_716995203.html?s=p). Any idea what this fuse is for and if I must find a replacement with a fuse or not?

I don't know anything about the Prestige, but I have the GS65 (15.6") from last year and carry it around a bunch. I had a hard time finding a case that would fit it, but this one did the trick:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FBOIYU8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's not exactly a hard case, it flexes a bit but It's kept my machine safe for almost a year so far.

this subreddit is for MSI laptops, but i can still try to help. you never mentioned if you are connecting wirelessly or via ethernet but because of the Ethernet driver talk im guessing thats what your using. have you tried a PCIe wireless card? i just put this in my new build

You should look at the specs of your laptop. I've looked here https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GL63-8SX-GTX/Specification and it says that the memory type is DDR4-2666. I don't know how much RAM you are looking for, but you could buy one stick to add it in the empty slot or buy two sticks of RAM and replace the one you have. Max capacity is 32gb, so I'd buy another 8gb stick because 16gb is enough for gaming. For example, something like this: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ct8g4sfs8266

The HDD is a 2.5" SATA HDD. I'm not sure because I've never installed a HDD, but I guess a HDD like this would work for you https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-MQ01ABD-Internal-Drive-MQ01ABD100/dp/B009AYVNMQ/

Try to search which brand is better for your needs because I haven't test these out and I'm very new to upgrading laptops, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That laptop is a bit thick for sleeve style carrying cases. They're usually made for devices less than a half inch thick and your laptop is 0.85" thick. You might need a small laptop bag like this.

Edit: According to the specs for this sleeve, it should work. Link.

I use the Alienware vindicator backpack. It's amazing man, dunno ur budget but it's $110

You'll need something like these tools

https://www.amazon.com/YUYIKES-Adhesive-Digitizer-Supersonic-Incredible/dp/B004WIQW3U/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1483759935&sr=1-3&keywords=Double+sided+adhesive+3M

Typically used for cellphone repair, but 2MM isn't wide enough. I ended up having to run the adhesive multiple time on each side to fill in the surface area.

I am using a thunderbolt to display port. Here is the amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C7RJQPY/ref=cm_

Sorry for the thread necro. I got this one and it is excellent. I drilled out two holes at the bottom and installed two machine screws wrapped with plumbers tape to keep the laptop from sliding off the pad. I then added a pad on the bottom with a polyurethane cushion so it can sit comfortably on my lap.

Unless you're flying business, it'll be a little tricky finding a mains to plug in. Also, if you absolutely need to use your laptop during your flight (it won't be comfortable, again, unless you're in business), try getting one of those world traveler adapters . something like this
