Hey again, just wanted to follow up because I ordered this pillow - and - this in indeed the exact pillow I've been looking for. Oh my, it's perfect in every way. I'm kind of mad because I wish I had known about this ten years ago. I hope my neck pain goes away but I can already tell I'll be a happy sleeper from here on out. I wanted to thank you for the awesome suggestion!!!

I feel as if I am a pretty light weight person that I don't even sink into my memory foam or even my 4" topper. It is definitely memory foam, both the mattress and the toper. the topper is like this http://www.samsclub.com/sams/4in-topper-twin-dreamfinity/prod14480238.ip?xid=plp:product:1:1 and the cover is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EFBD0ZW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and the mattress itself is this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005A4OQ9W/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

the room definitely isn't cold so i dont think that is causing the issue. i just want to feel like I sink into the bed more, it all feels very firm to me.

The post was removed cause of my account being new and even though one of the moderators was nice enough to approve it afterwards, I really didn’t have time to wait so i bought this mattress and I just hope it works out fairly well.

It’s on the firmer side, which isn’t ideal for side-sleepers as far as I know but it was a great price. Also, I read among the answered questions that the company said it has no fiberglass in it.

I'm assuming you don't care about the mattress lasting for years, you just need something for your final year of school, correct? At that price range you definitely shouldn't expect the mattress to last more than a year (it might but just don't expect it to). There are some cheap mattresses on Amazon such as LUCID and Zinus. They have a lot of good reviews but be wary since there are tons of fake (paid for) reviews on Amazon. Pretty much what you want to aim for is just something that's better than sleeping on the floor. College dorm mattresses are generally pretty horrible, so it is what it is. People still make it through college alright even with those awful mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you want a platform bed frame. Here's a lower cost one from Zinus.

You’re welcome. FYI not something like this. Something that has a quilted barrier

Ah word, if it's not a daily sleeper than that makes more sense haha.

I'd probably pick Zinus in that case, something like this

The obvious thing is to take a deep fitted sheet or mattress pad with strong elastic all around and put it over the topper and the mattress. You can also use some of those clip on elastic bands that fasten across the corners of the fitted sheet to pull it tight.

https://www.amazon.com/Original-Sheet-Suspenders-fasteners-Adjustable/dp/B00451BG2G/

If you mean you already did that and it was not enough, then put a tight-fitting cover on the topper (if there is not already one). If you are lucky, you can find a topper cover that has elastic bands already sewn onto each of the corners. If you cannot find one like that, then get some wide and heavy elastic from the store and sew some on yourself. Or you can use the long elastic-band clip "sheet suspenders" attached to the topper cover to hold it in place.

Also, if your mattress topper cover does not already have a rubbery bottom, you can get a piece or two of non-slip grip material that is also used to keep rugs from sliding, and put it between the topper and the mattress.

I'd totally cross off option 2. Option 1 is the right idea, but that one may look a little cheap. I have personal experience with this one that has been very good.

Need more info on your mattress protector.

You could get something a bit thicker that would go on top of your mattress protector.

Something more breathable and similar to this that would allow things to get cooler between you and the foam: http://www.amazon.com/Season-Alternative-Queen-Mattress-Topper/dp/B005TOVWFO/

The topper slowly slides off the bed at the foot because of the incline made by the wedge. Every night, if I don't make an effort to push it back, it slides maybe 1-2 inches further down despite every effort I've made to increase friction to keep it in place.

This isn't precisely what I have, but it's close: https://smile.amazon.com/Beautyrest-Polyurethane-Mattress-Elevator-Gentile/dp/B007YX98U4/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=mattress+wedge&qid=1554435156&s=gateway&sr=8-6

I guess there's some difference in what people call it. It's a full length wedge that runs under the entire mattress, not just something that sits at head level.
