Minecraft Wall Torch
I'm 12, and I love my wall torch! It also keeps Zombies away!!
Minecraft Lightup Redstone ore
As I already stated, I'm 12. I really want this, but I already have the torch. He might enjoy it though!
Creeper Plush
Or as I like to call it, Carl the Creeper. Its a great desk toy.
Minecraft posters
If you would prefer, you could just pick one up at a local Wal-Mart or Target.
If you don't find these items fit, here's links to great online stores that have great Minecraft merchandise, and more!

This is the one I have. I like it a little too much haha. It's a bit pricey but it's a solid build and feels like an xbox controller. It definitely makes minecraft way more fun and easy to control on the ipad. I wish there were more games to use it with but then I would get nothing done

It's 3D Dot Game Heroes A PS3 game that's pretty much an homage to the Legend of Zelda games. It's really fun, and looks pretty nice. I recommend playing it if you own a PS3.
For those wondering how this was made:

In Conclusion:
These kinds of renders do take time. A user commented:
> Pretty Certain you just imported a 3D model of a head using Binvox..
And that's absolutely correct. However, that doesn't mean this kind of thing is simple to create! Certainly, this wouldn't be what it is without the help of external software- but the use of that software doesn't mean it can't be respected as a build. Don't say I just imported it-- it took a lot of work!
TL;DR: I used a lotta software and it took a lotta time.
Its kind of for kids, but its still interesting, and i think it would be fun to play after reading the book!

Hey thank you so much man! This was totally helpful. looking for a laptop for requirements now.
Really appreciated.
But do you really think this could fit the Bill?? I would totally buy this in a heart beat.
you suggested it http://www.amazon.com/15-6-Inch-Dual-Core-Intel-Laptop-500GB/dp/B00L49X8E6
This could run around 60 FPS?
Minecraft is very CPU heavy, as it runs in a JVM rather than a nested programme.
Go for a single/dual core PC with a high clock rate and 8/16 GiB of RAM. An Intel HD integrated graphics card will run the game quite smoothly, however will be completely unable to handle any form of shaders unless you have 1-2 GiB vRAM.
After a quick Google, this looks to fit the bill, however you may want a machine that has the "Red Dot" as a laptop default cursor is not that good, and is heavily limited.
A normal mouse would be an issue to carry around, especially if not on a good surface.
Basically, my recommendation is to go for a laptop with a red dot and a good CPU, along with a medium sized storage (64/128 GiB SSD will be both fast and moderately cheap), and a integrated graphics card or slightly better.
This is one of the few times I'd recommend Lenovo.
Don't go Alienware, they'll rip you off.
I've got a pretty good collection of the little figures but I like them out of the box so I can design and then re-arrange things in the collection box.
I love the Minecraft Glowstone Lamp
Amazon states that people who bought this also bought the Xbox 360 version of the game. Which is funny because it seems that this is directed toward the PC version (Chapter 1 is about creating an account on minecraft.net, buying the game, and basic controls such as w to walk.)
Ever read Tigana? The setting is a peninsula in the vague shape of a hand with two fingers missing. (And the local sorcerers have to remove those two fingers from one hand to fully unlock their powers.)
We have a couple of kids around that age we're buying for this year.
We decided to get a Minecraft Mini Figure Collector Case and a half dozen Minecraft Mini Figure Mystery Boxes.
The Mystery Boxes can be found at the checkout stand at Walmart, so we buy them now and then. The case is a nice way for them to organize and store them.
EDIT:
A note on the mystery boxes. There are several different series, in different color boxes. We purchased a mixture of them.
There is an actual Minecraft for Dummies http://www.amazon.com/Minecraft-Dummies-Portable-Edition-Computers/dp/1118537149 thought that was funny.
I'm the kid who bought this at a middle school book fair
It's on sale on amazon atm too.

You can adopt them from the Humane Society.
I believe this is the creeper in question, too.

A dead body, the owl, California... I read a lot of Michael Connelly when I was in college but this is absolutely unintentional.

The class ended its reading with the conclusion of the British campaign; but that was the point at which all of Gaul rose up behind him... so I finished it in English. I was never good at getting the right ending of anything in Latin, and all the pronouns and tenses are entirely within the endings. Knowing the Latin roots of words, though, that stuck with me. And the slide shows our classics teacher had of ancient roman archeological sites were incredible. He visited Italy and Greece every summer, and made his own slides. The stories from antiquity he told with the slides made classical history come alive for me in a way that enriched my life.
As for books: I'd recommend reading Caesar's book. It's a cunning piece of pro-ceasar propaganda, but the military details are quite accurate, because one of the primary ways to become a Roman citizen was to serve in the army, and this portion of the citizenry was the memoir's target audience. If you're looking for a more scholarly work on the Roman Army, this is the one I read in college for a War & Ancient Society class. It has a very high level of detail, to match its very high price, but it is also quite good.
It's actually more complicated than that, but he's not completely off point.
I highly recommend reading "on killing". It's a really insightful read on how our brains prevent us from killing each other, and how hard armies work to overcome it.
One of the steps, btw, is getting soldiers used to shooting at human shaped targets.
