I'm in the same boat. Grew up playing MK1-3 at the arcade and wanted to play MKX.

After trying to play on a controller, I couldn't get into it. So I decided to go the fight stick route. Had no clue which way to go but after lots of searching and whatnot, here';s what I found.

Biohazard and others like to use a TE2. It seems to be the bee's knees. I didn't want to sink $200 into a stick to try out so I got a Qanba Drone. The joystick didn't feel right so I found this tutorial that shows ya how to change the joystick out for a better one. Now, technically it's not like the old MK1-3 sticks in the arcade but I've grown to like it. You can change out the buttons too if you want but I haven't done that yet.

If you want a fight stick that's like the old MK arcade sticks, you want one of these.

You can find similar products available for purchase currently. Find something like this in-store and check out the feel of the buttons to see if you like it. If you don't like the left stick, don't worry. The MKX ones are actual Dpads, so as long as you enjoy the feel of the buttons you'll be good to go.

if its your first stick it may a take a few days to get used to, but i personally use the mini when i travel to a friends house and a larger stick at home.

I'll always be bringing my ps4/monitor with extra controllers to meetups, so feel free to use one of those whenever I'm around. If you would rather use an xbox controller on ps4, Brook converters are a solid option. There are other xbox players, and we were talking about maybe all chipping in to buy a converter for community use during meetups/tournaments.

I also have an arcadestick with turbo, but it's only hold turbo, so I have to put a grinder on the button if I want to use that.

I've just started playing MKX a couple of months ago and wanted to play it seriously and try to be competitive.

Only thing I had was the 360 controller which sucks balls.

You don't want to use an analog stick you want to use a good D-pad and the 360 D-pad sucks.

I didn't know how much I would be into this game or not so I got this $20 fightpad by PDP which was wayy better than my expectations for it. I highly recommend it for the price.

I just got mine today and it does feel noticeably better than the PDP pad.

I think some more serious people use fight sticks and hitboxes and other strange controllers but I don't know ab any of that shit.

I've got this controller and it will repeatedly press any of the face buttons, bumpers, or triggers for me. You can set it to hold the button down or you can set it to rapidly press it. So, if I want to go afk, I can set it to rapidly press cross and it will just keep inputting "X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X" for as long as the controller is on.
