It might not be what you are looking for but I got this slim hard case the other day and I love it. It has a great texture and also has the dimple plus its super slim although doesn't provide much protection.

Looks a lot like the Cimo case I use: http://amzn.com/B0115B4DHS

Really love the Cimo. Barely adds any bulk, and fits nice and tight on all sides.

I imagine either would be a great buy, especially since they are both under $10 with great reviews.

The best blend that I've seen between looks and protection is the Poetic Affinity case in clear/frosted rubber. All the polycarbonate is clear so you can see the back perfectly. The rubbery TPU strips along the back and the sides are frosted unlike the picture, but provide good grip and don't obstruct too much of the phone.

I like it much better than the clear Incipio one (discolors very quickly) and the clear VENA case (feels cheap and scratches), which I have both tried for about a month.

3.

I just got the Poetic Flip-Book a few weeks ago, and so far I like it. It's not leather, but it's "leather-like", and it's pretty thin. It protects it pretty well, and covers the screen, which is why I got it.

u/mentalitarium · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I second the Poetic Affinity. Best clear case I've found yet.
Buttons are responsive and clicky, it has good grip to it, and it shows off your phones design while adding a little to it with the little embellishments on the case itself. Snaps on/off super easy too.
Only complaints are there's no textured power button and the color of my jeans has started to rub off onto the raised parts of the case. Doesn't look bad at all honestly, just not as nice as it did.
The hard plastic part also scratches fairly easily but it's hardly noticeable. Aside from that it's also very durable so far.
Definitely recommend it.

That's for the 2013 model bud. The pics and the pricing justify the model. Also under specs it mentions Moto X rather than Moto X 2nd Gen. Read this post for info on Moto X 2014 cases. If you want an Otterbox then check their site.

I myself own a SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Series and its one solid case that offers maximum protection without any cost on size/sturdiness. If you want something similar to the Otterbox Defender try the SUPCASE Unicorn Heavy Duty Series. Either way you can't go wrong and I highly recommend that case. If you have any questions feel free to comment or pm me.

This Hyperion is great for the $$$. Heck it is great period.

u/ThisAnacondaDoes · 2 pointsr/MotoX

I got this case and this glass screen protector off Amazon.

Love the case. It adds grip, isn't bulky, has the protected corners for drops, and is clear so the back design is still visible. The screen protector works just fine and I got it on with no bubbles or problems!

u/Shadow_Prime · 1 pointr/MotoX

This TPU case is pretty good. Doesn't add much bulk to the phone, had a cutout for the nub, and it is not slick. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CXLY9KG/

Although what case is slick? What exactly do you mean by slide?

If you have some really smooth surface that the phone needs to stick to and no case is good enough, maybe use some friction tape on the back? http://www.amazon.com/3M-3407NA-Friction-0-708-Inch-240-Inch/dp/B001AXF416

The Moto x pure has a standard micro USB port. You can connect it to your computer with a cable like this. If you want to move files straight to a flash drive you need an USB otg cable like this.

u/DaNPrS · 2 pointsr/MotoX

Those are pretty neat actually. I have this one.

u/LeamNoran · 1 pointr/MotoX

This case by Poetic isn't too bad. Has two slots. Works great for card+ID.

u/Differlot · 1 pointr/MotoX

There's the bear motion case with the sand paper texture back

http://www.amazon.com/Case-Moto-2nd-Gen-Generation/dp/B00OCC4DVE

Heard good things and it apparently vastly improves grip.

Look for a case made of TPU or Silicon. I was able to find a transparent TPU case for my phone. It's nice and thin, I can still see my wood back, and most importantly, TPU is excellent at absorbing shock, so it'll keep your screen from shattering if you drop it.

Bought this at the same time I ordered my X. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FD2AQGI/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?redirect=true&ref_=pe_527950_33920250

Fits great and I plug it in every night without looking.

u/nightfright · 1 pointr/MotoX

I have a thin case, (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0115B4DHS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00) you can definitely tell there is something there, changes the shape a bit but it's not terrible. Just a bit squared on the back. The mount comes with 2 plates, one long rectangle and a circle one. I use the rectangle for more surface area. Works fine for me.

u/DivineMayhem · 1 pointr/MotoX

I've been rocking this one and I love it. Phone has fallen from ~4' height onto a corner and is totally fine. It has the cutouts for the dimple in the back and makes the phone considerably less slippery.

u/sbts2001 · 1 pointr/MotoX

I have the Cimo TPU case. It's thin, transparent, easy to put on and take off, and has a decent grip to it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011EPATXM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_LE20xbDR1BJ0H

The receiver was $10 and the charging pad was $23 so $33 total. (Minus the Torx T4 screwdriver & pry tool which I already had).

It's actually much easier than it sounds;

I followed this video to remove the back cover, stuck the receiver to the adhesive on the back cover of the phone and plugged it in. I used a small piece of packaging tape to hold the ribbon cable in the perfect spot (so it's not super long but long enough that I can unplug it if necessary). Then just snapped the covers back together and voila!

The only drawback I've noticed is that the back cover is very thin so it sort of "forms" to the contours of the receiver inside. If you look closely at the second picture, you can kind of see the outline of the receiver. It's a minor complaint but worth mentioning.

Just buy a display that includes the frame. Much easier than having to separate the old frame and reattach it to the new display.

I used this one for an XT1053.

Not out of the box, but if you have a case to tuck one of these Qi adapters - that should work - it does according to this guy anyway:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/review/B00H7FJX7M/R2YPDLOU1BD4QE/ref=mw_dp_cr?cursor=2&sort=rd

I'm definitely going to try this in the future, have to figure out how to hide it with a sticker or something that's just the right size for my case. Or maybe paint the Qi film to match. Or put a sticker on the Qi thing itself!

Answering my own question for those interested. Ordered this and will post updates when it shows up.

u/mekkelrichards · 1 pointr/MotoX

If you want to have a good case that is actually going to protect your phone when you drop it on the ground and not let the screen crack, I would get the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Heavy Duty edition (goofyass name). It's $20 on amazon, but it looks decent and has a built in screen protector. The thin cheap cases will not stop your phone screen from cracking. I learned that the hard way.

Here is the case I'm referring to:
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Full-body-Protective-Protector-Resistant/dp/B00N3VHE7U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419203797&sr=8-1&keywords=unicorn+beetle+heavy+duty+moto+x+2014

I really like the Motorola one they sell on amazon here. My stock HTC one broke, and the mediabridge cable I have, the small end doesn't stay in.

u/PotRoastPotato · 1 pointr/MotoX

Plug a USB mouse into your phone via this device and use the mouse to control your phone and upload your stuff to Drive or Dropbox.

Or take it to a cell phone repair place and let them repair the screen.

u/shortbizzle · 1 pointr/MotoX

I picked up those battery packs. My wife and I work outside the office and we need that battery life.

u/lpjunior999 · 1 pointr/MotoX

I use the Mountek car dock. It had a spring loaded grip and sits right in the slot for a CD player you're probably trying to replace. Only ever fell out when it wasn't used properly.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004G1L52Q?cache=85c3d13cb1756205f398088fb291a58b&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&qid=1412217946&sr=8-14#ref=mp_s_a_1_14

I also have this little suction cup thing I got from ThinkGeek, but it really only sticks to glass. They say it works with all phones, but unless you're using an iPhone you need a smooth case.

Here are two. I'm using the Skinomi on mine now and I have used ArmorSuit before. The downside to these type screen protectors are that they have a rubbery finish so your finger doesn't glide across the screen like with glass, they have an orange peel effect in certain lights, and aren't perfectly clear like glass or plastic screen protectors.

Skinomi

AmorSuit

The ECOMOTO cords that shipped in the first devices are still holding up 7 years later for me. Better than the Samsung cords from a Note 4 and S5 and whatever came with my Nexus5 or Galaxy Nexus. Also the cord that came with my 1st Gen Nook has stood the test of time.

My wife buys those "10 for $10" braided cords and they last weeks before turning to shit.

Keep in mind considering the device is a "24 Hour mixed use" battery, that means somewhere around the 33% mark will be 8 hours.

Charging percentages also will depend on the temp of the device, it won't charge too fast if the device gets hot.

Not sure which one you got, but I use the Tenergy Wall Charger and it charges as per expectations.

This one. I had the Casemate Bumper before this, it started to crack in a few places, I went to get another one and they stopped making it. I settled for this thing and regret it.
