Garmin over Fitbit all the way. (waterproof, durable, more geared to athletics than socializing)

From there, you go down the rabbit-hole that is Garmin's product lineup. You seem to be leaning toward "smartwatch" format so I'll ignore stuff like the Vivosport/Vivosmart 3 which are "bands".

Got an upper limit on the budget?

Fenix 3 (get the "HR" version) is a generation older so it'll lack some of the latest features like 1-second interval HR tracking. It's also "comically large." Try one on before you commit. Gorgeous watch though and the 5-button UI is fantastic.

Of the same generation as the F3 is the Vivoactive HR. Not as pretty but it's a stealth best value (often sub-$150CAD, $100USD). Touchscreen + two button UI. For what these cost now, they kick the crap out of everything in that price-class, tracking just about any activity you want, plus connecting to external sensors.

Vivoactive 3 (VAHR successor) would be a great choice too if that's within budget. They're often on sale.

BTW: when I started going back to the gym, I was manually logging stuff in MFP but wanted more accuracy, hence picking up a Garmin. Recent Garmin Connect updates include badges that gamify things even more. I'd be lying if I said a wearable hasn't, at times, gotten me off the couch just to one-up my yesterday. I have a bunch of Garmin-connected friends who are motivators.

It was majorly disappointing to me the first time I weighed a tablespoon of peanut butter!! Lol peanut butter is like the only food I seriously crave a lot. I recently bought this peanut butter powder and it has made a huuuuge difference in my macros (and how much peanut butter I can eat lmao). Def recommend it! Adding you now :)

ETA: I chose this brand because it was the best one I could find that had only peanuts as it’s ingredients; I would imagine there might be cheaper or better tasting brands that have sugar and salt in them if you are used to that kind of peanut butter :)

http://imgur.com/ggRZyOC here's what a normal workday food intake looks for me.

Part of what works is planning out the meals and cooking ahead of time. I make lunches and dinners for the week on Sunday and bag them up and divide them into containers.

I actually enjoy the ritual of all this now. That's the most important part is making everything a habit. I don't particularly love coffee but I've come to enjoy the ritual of making it and sipping it to start my day.

Also anytime you think to yourself "I don't want to do that right now" or "I'll do it later" DO IT IMMEDIATELY. Or at least start it. It's hokey but I read this book a couple of months ago suggested on reddit http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NGC8I9E?keywords=superhuman&qid=1456858715&ref_=sr_1_4&sr=8-4 and even though I rolled my eyes at a lot of the stuff that really stuck with me. It's gotten me to enjoy just the process of somethings and I catch myself when I try to talk myself out of working out or eating right.

There are plenty on Amazon or Walmart in the $10-$15 range. I would get a digital one that holds at least 11 lbs., is easy to tare, and switch between grams, ounces and pounds. This one is random one that looks decent and it only $11.10 after coupon if you have Prime: https://www.amazon.com/Ozeri-ZK14-S-Digital-Multifunction-Kitchen/dp/B004164SRA

I recently purchased a Renpho scale.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N1UX8RW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It syncs with my health app in my iphone- which I have synced with myfitnesspal app. It automatically updates myfitnesspal when I weigh in. It's easy to use and also measures water weight, fat etc. Plus it's a really reasonably priced scale!
