First: I’m not a lawyer.

With that out of the way: Carry of certain types of knives is legal, but the laws are vague and left open for cops to misinterpret as conveniently as they see fit.

I carry a Kershaw Natrix CF.. You can get one at a decent price on Amazon and have them shipped to your gf’s. It’s a pocket knife with flip/rapid open, but the blade uses KVT ball bearings for the assist, so it doesn’t fall under the definition of “spring assisted.” When you leave, if you wanna keep it, have your gf put it back in the box and mail it to you.

Wanna go Paul Hogan style? You can get the XL model.

Remember, you’re carrying it because it’s a tool, not a weapon. Mine’s even got some scuffs on the blade from actual “tool” use to make it seem legit, though I keep it nice and sharp.

Other tips:

  • Large cities (including NYC and Philly) and shore towns have cops who seem to get a hard on when they see the outer clip of a pocket knife hanging out. Their view is that there’s isn’t any reason that’s a legit one for carrying a knife, and if they get a bug up their ass over you, they’ll use knife possession to fuck with you. Your best bet in such areas is to go fully concealed and not give them any reason to start patting you down and fuckin’ with you.

  • If a place has a metal detector, obviously leave it behind or don’t go in.

This what I use. I keep the pistols in the side pockets, locked with a small travel master lock. Unloaded mags unloaded in the main compartment along with Ammo. All goes in the trunk

I also had the "high" one that was 1" tall, but that was just a tad bit too tall for me.

Personally, I avoid carrying a "knife". I always have a Gerber EAB with me. Since it uses replaceable utility blades, it'd be very hard for them to say it isn't appropriate for work. As a bonus you can actually use it to cut cardboard and tape without dulling and getting an expensive knife all nasty.
