I've never owned an Otterbox case before but based on Amazon searches, the best ones available for the Robin would probably be made by TUDIA. I got mine recently and I love it! Dropping the phone was never really a concern for me. However, sometimes I feel like it isn't really sturdy and can bend anytime in my pocket (my jeans are tight). The edges are pretty much this rubberized gel, but the back part seems to be made of a much harder material. It feels way more durable.

I don't think it would do good as a waterproof case because all the ports are still exposed. The case's edges around the screen are a bit elevated so the screen itself has some sort of safety against scratches and drops. I personally think TUDIA cases are the best you can get for the Robin as of right now. Plus it looks great and is pretty slim (hence the name Slim-Fit).

Totally with you on that "perfect device" not being there. I loved my Nexus 5 -- great value. But something went wonky on it when we moved to Italy in 2015, and then it was stolen. I moved to the Nexus 6P, and that's my jam size-wise (shockingly, my wife [6P] and daughters [6P, iPhone 6S+] also are happy with that form-factor). Would get another, but the price drops aren't there, and it's a year-old phone. By now it should be $250.

The Robin is supposed to be the Nexus 5 replacement that gets me to the next great phone by Moto, Nextbit, OnePlus or any other manufacturer that pops up with a near-stock Android experience (ready to be heroes, Nokia?!). I will not touch Samsung until Touchwiz is flushed (as we do with all other "wiz"), and they stop putting physical buttons on the screen. Same goes for LG, HTC and the other big guys.

I tried to follow melissav1's lead and order the Amzer Pudding case, but to ship it to my APO address cost an additional $10 (~$18 total), so that was a no-go.

I went with this case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017F6Y5IY/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And these TGSP were $8 for a three-pack: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K7GBTHO/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

With Prime, it came to $15.98 for both.

My girlfriend got one and so far she likes it, only thing that's been below average is the camera, okay in good lighting. I'd go for it if getting a solid phone for a really cheap price is your goal. Pretty big steal where it's at on Amazon. Should be getting Nougat soon. This is the heaviest duty case we could find so far there's been no issues. Feels nice in the hand. Case

This case

This glass screen protector

Nova Launcher. Really nothing else to get. This phone is fucking amazing, I'm so amazed at how quick and responsive it is but still have such a beautiful screen.

Same here! Snapdragon 806 might not compare to 820, but for half the price it is. I heard the phone is a little delicate so I bought one of those heavy duty protective case just incase. I like my all my phones in protective cases regardless of how sturdy it is. It gives me a peace of mind.

Clothed, definitely. I've been really happy with Tudia's Slim Dual Layer.

I bought mine on Amazon for $150 and I've had it for a month already and im loving it so far.
This is the one I got: Nextbit Robin Factory Unlocked GSM Smartphone - Mint (U.S. Warranty) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D9LVCAI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CYnpzbTP10RY2

I got this case and I like it a lot. Some have complained about it interfering with the fingerprint scanner, but I found that redoing the fingerprints after putting the case on takes care of that problem. I really like this case because you can see the back, it's not TPU so it won't yellow, and the border matches the aesthetics of the phone. It isn't as protective as the Tudia case, but that's the trade-off for a slimmer case.

I got the Aukey 3.0 quick charger and it works great. Here's the link for the exact one I bought https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Charge-Galaxy-Qualcomm-Certified/dp/B018RR30TK

I've been using these for the last six months. They've been working fine for me with fast charging. The metal clip attaches to the cable on your existing microusb cord so you don't lose the adapter.

That happened to mine too, not long after getting it either. The case I got covers that part so it doesn't bother me, but now I know I'm not the only one!

u/ethyrx · 1 pointr/Nextbit

It was 9 dollars but comes with the cable and charger so that's good.

Man, to be for real with you I didn't even use that cable once. If I were you I'd buy a official Google USB c to USB c cable and then get a charger block from Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CJ90J6O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_XcqFybJ4ECJQ0
