There are lots of heroes not yet in the game that have not been added yet. Here is a list that someone posted in the subreddit a long time ago (before McCree, Genji, and Roadhog were revealed), and here are character portraits from the Recall short that haven't been heroes yet. Until then, there have also been some heavily speculated heroes.

-Sombra: Not much is known about her, but she's apparently an elite hacker likely aligned with Talon. The community is currently in an ARG with her, but it's been at a standstill for some time, thanks to a countdown timer on amomentincrime.com. Countdown is speculated to hit 100% on October 17th, so keep an eye out around that period.

-Doomfist: Ever since we saw his gauntlet in the initial cinematic short, people have speculated that we would eventually get Doomfist. Thanks to a silhouette of a character on the Doomfist exhibit poster in Numbani (with a name written in the Omnic language), people speculate that this individual will eventually join the roster as Doomfist.

Soundquake: Another hero people have been speculating on ever since an offhand mention in the initial cinematic trailer. It's speculated that they are this hero found in the Recall trailer, but for now, all we can do is speculate.

Athena: People have also speculated that Overwatch's AI, Athena, will eventually join the roster with a body of sorts (Think EDI from Mass Effect in a way). Again, nothing confirmed, but still nice to speculate on.

Liao: When an in-universe blog post spoke of the original founding of Overwatch, they mentioned the founders-Morrison, Reyes, Amari, Lindholm, Willhelm, and Liao. No one knows who Liao is or what's become of them, but we did get an interesting lead recently. Thanks to the recent announcement for the preorders of the graphic novel, First Strike, we now have a picture of an unknown individual with an omnic. It's not confirmed that this is Liao, but it's the only lead we have.

I don't know when we're getting a new hero (though I expect something to be announced at Blizzcon), but we already have a nice list of potential candidates.

What price range are we talking?

If you have some money to spare, I would recommend Razer gear. It's some of the best out there.

The Razer DeathAdder costs 50$ and is probably the world's most popular gaming mouse.

The Razer BlackWidow costs 70$ and has mechanical keys. I love this because you have a noticable "click" when pressing in the keys which makes more very dynamic and precise gameplay.

In addition to this, you need a mousepad. It doesn't have to be a good/expensive brand, but make sure it's LARGE. It recently bought a huge mousepad and it is sooo nice being able to play without being scared to roll over the edge. Lower DPS improves your aim, so you may have to move around your mouse a lot from time to time. This is a gamechanger.

If you don't have 120$+ to spare on equipment, just go on Amazon and search for "gaming mouse / gaming keyboard". Most results will be very affordable and still cheap.

For example, I am currently using this gaming mouse for only 14$. It's perfectly fine in my opinion and quite nice.

TL;DR - Buy this card, put in computer, play game.

Thanks to the link to the Amazon seller page provided by /u/probartlett155, we now know the following:

  • CPU: AMD A4-6300 (2 cores @ 3.7GHz)
  • GPU: No discrete GPU, but an APU; AMD Radeon HD 8370D
  • RAM: 8GB
  • HDD: 1TB HDD @ 7200rpm
  • PSU: 400w (switched? unknown)
  • Chassis: Aerocool Strike-X
  • Motherboard: Unknown (not cited on the seller page)
  • OS: Windows 8.1

According to the seller, this motherboard does in fact have an open PCI-E x16 slot available. This makes things a bit easier. A discrete GPU is available, though with the current configuration, not a top-of-the-line one. I like the suggestion from /u/PapayaPies to get a GTX 1060; alas, that is not possible currently due to the underwhelming power supply.

Cheapest, easiest solution: EVGA GTX 1050 Ti SC from Amazon for $140.49USD (plus S&H).
While there are two cheaper options, I'd recommend the EVGA variant as my history with them has been rocksteady reliability (I still have a system built pre-i3/i5/i7 that runs on an EVGA motherboard and video card). I consider this option the cheapest and easiest as all that is required is the following:
  1. Get card.
  2. Power down computer.
  3. Open chassis.
  4. Insert card into available PCI-E slot.
  5. Close chassis.
  6. Connect display to new GPU.
  7. Power on computer.

While we could go with other options; they're more expensive and require a new power supply at the very least – adding not only $50 to $80 to the total cost after the video card; but time spent rewiring power connections, as well.

It is important to note that this particular video card is bus-powered only; and does NOT need an additioal power cable running to it to perform its function.

With this configuration, a reliable gaming experience in Overwatch and other games can be readily achieved with minimal downtime and risk to the components. I'm sure this is not the way some Redditors would do things; but again I remind you, we're trying to get him playing Overwatch as quickly and as cheaply as possible.

    Comments
Whomever these sellers are that are selling “gaming computers” with just an APU and not a discrete GPU need to be punched in the babymaker. While I understand they're a business and trying to make money; they're flat-out lying about the capabilities of these machines. They're nothing more than office workstations with a fancy chassis. I'm sorry, /u/probartlett155, but I feel like you got scammed. :(
Windows 10. It is also worthy to note that for some damn stupid reason Microsoft includes as part of its OS something called “Xbox Game DVR”. This comes ENABLED by default; and without an account with Xbox Live, requires you to edit the registry to disable. Why disable it? It is poorly coded and causes a significant drop in performance. In your situation, we need every drop we can get. Steam has a howto on disabling it via registry; but I'd wait to muck about in there until after the GPU has been installed and performance can be assessed (yes, I'm looking for trouble here, I know, I'm sorry).

    Recommendations
If you find the above solution acceptable; then I would recommend going ahead and buying the video card and getting things going. I would NOT recommend spending any more money on this particular rig, though. Mosey on over to /r/buildapc and poke around a bit; start saving money for a newer gaming rig that you can call your own.

    Final Thoughts
Sorry for your troubles, man. Hope you can get into some Overwatch, I personally love the game. Also, without further adieu – welcome to the PC Master Race (#PCMR, /r/pcmasterrace).

May your framerates be high and your temperatures low.

    Happy fragging!

Best to do some indepth research on your own, but so far my experience has lead to this...

Good. https://amzn.com/B00TUK9D9K

Better. https://amzn.com/B00MSOND8C

Best. https://amzn.com/B0173PEX20 (can be purchased sometimes cheaper from costco)

u/supercloudnine · 0 pointsr/Overwatch

I had this pre-ordered as a e-book on Amazon (it was free but you can pre-order free things). I got a notification it was cancelled, it was then replaced with a £16.99 hardcover version released on 20th of April https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1506703348.

So I just assumed they decided to make money from it instead and expand upon it. Hopefully it will be free when it's done!

It's not really hard if you are handy. I followed a you tube build based on the case I used, a cooler master elite 130. People on r/buildapc are very helpful. Another great choice is buying a decent computer and upgrading. There is an i5 acer act 780 refurbished for 370 on newegg.com or brand new for 400 on amazon.com that can take a smaller gtx 1050 ti.
Video on how to do so. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yXkL5GZgTnU
The evga gtx 1050ti is on sale for 140 on amazon right now as well. https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1492185554&sr=1-1&keywords=1050+ti
This is the PC and it's quite a good deal IMO.
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Desktop-i5-6400-Windows-ATC-780-AMZi5/dp/B01K1INXJK/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1481359319&sr=1-5&linkCode=sl1&tag=tecdea0f-20&linkId=5626d92dcf87c228314bc9376299f738

Just make sure to unplug the PC and touch the power supply to ground yourself to the PC before touching any internals.

If that's 96C then yes, that is far too high. You don't ever want it to go above 60C. High temps over time quickly reduce the lifespan of your hardware. Its possible your thermal paste has worn off over time. It's also possible you still have something running in the background that's causing your CPU to heat up. Either way, the fastest fix for now is to start using a cooling pad.

Firstly, elevate your laptop to improve air circulation underneath. And while you have it up, give it a good blow with compressed air. Focus on the vents and fans. If you can open a back panel without too much trouble, open that up, give it a good blow. But be sure not to touch any of the metal parts. Secondly, purchase a cooling pad - something like this.

And thirdly, explore options for long-term cooling. Depending on your manufacturer and warranty, you should contact them first. If you are out of warranty, you could contact wherever you purchased your laptop from, or research a good computer shop in your area. Depending on the model of your laptop investigating the heating issue, which will probably be mostly dust cleaning, and possibly looking at the thermal paste and fans, may run you between $75 and $200 (also varies by where you live).

This is pretty good at a very reasonable price point. I'm sure there'll be one on Amazon US or newegg.

u/aikouka · 3 pointsr/Overwatch

Here are links to Amazon for the NORMAL and LIMITED EDITION versions. Also, if you like the comics, here's a link to the Anthology Volume 1.

I figured I'd provide the links after I saw searching that for "Art of Overwatch" turned up some slightly risque images of Overwatch's female heroes. =P

Honestly, it's like saying "hey that guy got me, he must be hacking or lagging using a mouse, because I'm so great, who could possibly beat me?" People throw around the accusation in the higher levels of console overwatch I see it like almost every game someone in my party is saying mouse and kb.

There are many different peripherals that enhance and give an advantage. Examples are a Scuf controller, kontrol freak things, better monitor, faster internet, higher resolution, fighting stick, racing wheels.

Also nothing will happen to these people and trust me there are not that many people ACTUALLY using these things they are $150+ plus mouse and keyboard. Also they do nothing that a controller could not do. I know a few of them myself and they are mostly in the 50s ranks. If you are bad at the game with a controller you are bad at the game with a mouse and keyboard.

Lastly sony even has an official adapter you can buy here and it looks kinda of cool but once again super pricey which bars most of the console pop from even considering it as most people dont know you can do it but as people continue to accuse people of it because they get beat it will become a widespread thing they have been around since COD days.

u/Owlero · 4 pointsr/Overwatch

Thanks for sharing this! I just got the limited edition for $54 down from $100

u/Gelectrode_ · 1 pointr/Overwatch

Just get a mini like this one: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MEFABEL/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484591731&sr=1-1&keywords=1050ti&th=1

Also keep in mind that the TI versions are slightly faster but more expensive so there are a few options. Also watch out for some of the TI's need a extra power pin and others dont. Depends on the brand. The one i link does not.

EDIT: the amount of heat coming off these cards is very low and it is not gonna require a duel fan extra huge cooler. That is one of the bigger benefits of running a low power card.

u/The_Skeptic_One · 1 pointr/Overwatch

Modmic hands down. You can even attach to to headphones. I use my modmic with my Beyerdynamic 990s and have gotten compliments on how clear the voice sounds with them. You can even detach them when you don't need them.

u/Syntaire · 6 pointsr/Overwatch

You could also look into getting something like a Logitech G13 or Razer Tartarus. They've got fully programmable buttons and a D-pad/Joystick. Might help out in your case.

There is a good price on sale right now. I got me an etekcity mouse worth $80 for $11 and that's what I'm currently using. It is ridiculous how much the price of something is boosted by the word "Gaming"

So I did some googling. 1440p isn't 21:9, it's 16:9, and there are both 1440p 144hz monitors and 21:9 144hz monitors. So yes, it is possible.

Thanks.

Mine was around $180-200CAD (after taxes), if I recall correctly, and assuming that's what you're asking.

EDIT: $195CAD - just checked.
EDIT2: Aww. If you're from the US, you can get it for $150. Lucky you guys D:

I use the XIM4 and it truly removes the handicap a controller puts on you as a veteran PC gamer. There have been 0 reports of getting banned for using it. For the people that claim it to be cheating, Sony already have a licensed kb/m for gaming and Microsoft have stated that is does not violate the terms of service.

You won't automatically dominate with it as good console gamers with aim assist can still put up a good fight, especially in heavy aim assist games. With practice you'll either adapt to aim assist or play without it. Look up videos on YouTube.

u/AguiPls · 1 pointr/Overwatch

Your notebook might be overheating thus reducing the performance of the GPU. You should try to buy a laptop fan that you place below the laptop. Here's a link to one

You could also download CAM or Afterburner which let you monitor the temps of your parts.

Hey, so ive been looking into the 1050ti and I found this.
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-04G-P4-6253-KR/dp/B01MF7EQJZ

My pc runs a 250w power supply, but do you think my pc can handle this even though it is recommended for a 300w power supply?

u/Raikoin · 1 pointr/Overwatch

Amazon UK has some available and listed as new, given mine came from mainland Europe they may ship to you:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B017NP8272/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Th issue is that they're all bumped up in price as people bought then held stock to sell later.

This often happens with Blizzard collectors stuff where it'll spike up in price initially then drop off again, Diablo 3 Collectors hit ~£300 at one point but are back down sub £100 from the same places. Might be worth waiting a bit to see if the same happens with Overwatch.

u/FractalPrism · 1 pointr/Overwatch

a KB&M can be used on console with something like the Hori Tactical Commander 4
Hori makes top end fightsticks, but i have not used this product.

However, I would swap out the Hori mouse for a logitech g300s

u/Neekoy · 1 pointr/Overwatch

In case anyone is genuinely interested, Xbox controllers are plug-n-play for Windows via USB. For wireless connectivity you need this thing.

Playstation controllers are a bit tricky cause you basically need to make your computer think it's a Xbox controller. Guide here.

u/ethansky · 4 pointsr/Overwatch

Logitech g pro on amazon is on sale iirc

Yup, onsale for $49.99, normally $69.99

u/skyrocketing · 5 pointsr/Overwatch

I also think it's kind of a gray area. Sony already officially licenses a KB+M peripheral for PS3/PS4 (Hori TAC), with an updated version coming in November. I wonder what are the rules regarding these when they are backed by Sony?

u/go3dprintyourself · 1 pointr/Overwatch

I use Logitech pro gaming mouse. It's good for fps games

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JPOLLTK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1yXbAbMNWCDW4

The build zealots are absolutely wrong when it comes to budget setups.

Just buy this ($400) and insert this ($140). You're done.

Building starts making sense at $800 or so, and becomes hugely superior above that.

Tactical assault commander 4,
The keyboard is nice but the mouse just doesn't feel precise

u/Advencraftgaming · 1 pointr/Overwatch

alright... I was about to rage at you fine stranger, I hate when people show me their mouse and it has 15+ buttons... you dont need that at all, 2-3 buttons is fine like what mine is lol

This is my mouse.... I know I know it's probably bad :(

Right, with enough time and practice you will get used to stranger controls.. I tried putting jump on my mouse but i've literally used space to jump ever since I started playing games, so that's something that won't change

u/Doge_Jedi · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

Well I don't know the DPI of that mouse but you want relatively low DPI. Don't worry though it doesn't have to cost you! I use a Tecknet M268 6D which is $10 on Amazon. It's not the best (has no removable weights and only 3 DPI settings) but it's a cheap gaming mouse and has lasted me 2 years with no fuss. It should be noted that though Amazon says it has settings for 600/1200/2000 DPI the official website for the mouse says 2000/1600/1000 DPI so that's what I go by.

For DPI I play with 1000, I know many people use mice that go as low as 400-800 though. DPI is mostly preference though some use higher but I don't think you would want to go above 3k DPI.
