I did something else and it works like you won't believe bro I just plugged the tiny mic in my controller and the sound is good I keep my mic level to clicks above good in the adjust settings.
I just switched the settings for the audio I use a headset 95% of the time and I couldn't believe it worked. playing in multiplayer no one hears you pressing buttons or the thumb sticks if you get mad and rage there going to hear it but normal play they won't hear it . The optical Bluetooth transmitter works good no lag at all for me it's just me playing so I don't notice any lag. I got the Sony mdr100 h ear viridian blue there great pair perfect couldn't ask for anything else works perfectly. I was just giving you an update on what I did if you want to try this it works perfectly.

Everything but the tact buttons is simple. You just buy the parts and plop them in.

The tact button requires a bit more and is the only mod you can mess up. I recommend using a controller with some life on it so you don't worry about scratching it up or w/e. You will appreciate that when your hands are shaking soldering it.

Here is the best tutorial I was able to find and the one I used. I am a visual learner. I was a beginner and my mod came out pretty near perfect. I did have to redo my solder points after getting some practice. Also, I should have cut larger holes for my tact buttons from the beginning, it would have saved me doing more shaving to make the button work correct after it was all put together.

Note that during the video he is using a slightly older board but the idea is exactly the same.

If you want to add buttons I highly highly suggest a remap board shown in the video above found here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PLAYSTATION-4-PS4-DualShock4-DS4-Remap-Board-Install-Hard-Remap-Buttons-Like-XO-/301481981148

That board allows you to add buttons without messing up your actual motherboard and you can use the buttons on the front still.

Also, practice with a soldering gun first, which brings me to the list of stuff you need:

soldering gun

hot glue gun

small screw drivers

exacto knife

buttons

button covers

Almost forgot, get tactile buttons with covers from amazon, but these specific ones work in all 4 directions which means you have to cut enough of your controller out to make them push down in all directions (aka better on the flat or farther down the controller so it doesnt hit the sharp edge)

What contradicting information? What are you trying to clarify?

Upgrading the HD is very simple and most people have dealt with it, you might get more/better info on the standard PS4 subreddit.

That said, I've put standard 1 and 2tb HDD's, the Seagate SSHD's, and SSD's in various consoles for friends, family, and myself - the difference between SSHD and SSD's is minimal, mostly because the consoles don't utilize SATA3 bandwidth. That said, both will load most things faster than the standard drive. You may see a small uptick going to a standard 2tb drive due to the data density but it's not big.

However, a distinct advantage of an SSD over any other drive in a PS4 is that they don't generate the same amount of heat.

I currently have an ADATA SU800 2TB SSD in my Pro console it works fantastic. I have a standard 2tb drive (which was shucked out of one of these) in my Days of Play console which I have for travel and it also works well, and realistically without timing things I really can't tell the difference.

Also I just ordered these after having several conversations with modders. I'd recommend getting all of your stuff and then compare the different options before you do your first one. I modded mine and now I wish I used smaller buttons (blue 12x12x12 ones listed). Going to wait and mod one with these:

DON'T FORGET to order a few blank back shells in case you mess up your drill holes. ALSO if you have the extra ones, you can drill/glue in a few different button layouts to see what you like the best! Just be sure to de-solder from the buttons NOT the circuit board. Give yourself a good 9" of wire to work with (it may seem like a lot, but when you fold it over it will fit just fine).

Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB Portable External Hard Drive with Mobile Device Backup USB 3.0 (Blue) STDR2000102 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FRHTTIU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_htZqyb388527Z

I priced match at my local target. You gotta remove the casing but it's very simple with a flat head screwdriver. I think the guide also shows you how to remove it and format it.

I'd take care of the hard drive before messing withe the PS4

Make sure you back up your saved data to the cloud first if you have PlayStation plus. Otherwise a flash drive will work.

Glad you all like it, I'm really pleased with it, the shell was hydro dipped and the sticks are from amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00JUWPKG8?pc_redir=1408741023&robot_redir=1

It honestly doesn't matter. Back when I was a weeb I made a custom Hatsune Miku PSvita because the real thing was over a grand.

3 years later and the deacals are only now starting to peel and I used it every day for a year and a half. Feels really good too.

Unfortunately no … but the screws look pretty standard to me. Have you asked in a computer parts shop or in a hardware store?

If you don’t mind buying them online see here for example

I wouldn't call myself the end all authority on this, but I have taken a lot of DS4's and 3's apart. Those springs do look bent to me. Below is a link to some replacement triggers with the springs. I've bought these and had mixed results, but my issue was with the buttons and not the spring

EDIT: I can't get formatting to work with new reddit... ugh
