edit: currently I run 3 screens, I play games on this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B2HH7G0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
GSYNC is expensive, if you have that kind of disposable income do it. As far as 144hz goes, there's no going back from that smoothness.
Honestly, right now the sweet spot is 1440p 144hz ... slowly coming down in price. When it comes down in price this is my next purchase https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Gaming-S2716DG-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B0149QBOF0
I wouldn't worry about 4k gaming unless it's a really big importance to you. If you need to upgrade now, 144hz is where it's at. If you can spot some extra cash, 1440p 144hz. GSYNC is pretty amazing though, from my understanding it eliminates tearing and gives the smoothest gameplay possible, something that could be helpful for PUBG as it grows. Hope that helps
I'm playing on a 1440p 144Hz BenQ monitor. I have a i5-6600k paired with a GTX970 overclocked and I get constant 80+ FPS. I play the game on 1440p resolution on lowest setting for PUBG, but any other game I also run 1440p, but with the highest setting my GPU can achieve.
It really is worth it to be honest. I can't tell about G-sync as my monitor is Freesync, but rest make my games look awesome. Modded Skyrim on 1440p monitor... think about it.
The best bang for your buck is probably this one: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Gaming-S2716DG-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B0149QBOF0
The book https://www.amazon.com/Battle-Royale-Novel-Koushun-Takami/dp/1421527723 is pretty good.
The comic follows the book pretty faithfully - to the point where you probably don't need to read the manga if you read the book. I read it back when the manga was still being released in NA and I wanted to know what happened :) It was a hard book to track down back then, I think had to get it special ordered.
Now it's pretty easy, they republished it a few years back when hungergames was all the rage.
Ive got a very similar / slightly worse rig, same exact monitor.
You won't really get much benefit from gsync because you wont be getting 165 fps in this game. Not only that but the game has an internal limit of 144 fps (can be edited via ini).
However, the monitor is pretty fucking tits.
Some things to critique / advice:
I would just suggest getting a larger M.2 drive instead of a 250GB M.2 SSD and 250GB Sata SSD.
I would get a different mouse and keyboard The keyboard just looks like ass (no offense) and you should definitely use a wired mouse for FPS. If you have problems with your mouse cord, get a mouse bungee. The G403 has one of the best / top tier sensors, and The G810 has very solid built mechanical keyboard without much extra bullshit
You seem to be purchasing two Amplifiers, The FiiO E10K is a DAC + Amp.
Not sure why you are purchasing two headphones, maybe just comparing? Whichever of the two you decide, they are fairly low impedance headphones and an external dac + amplifier are not needed. (Though I understand the want for quality as I do the same for my headphones)
I would suggest a desktop mic for gaming as that mod mic sounds like a salty asshole.
Do you have a 2nd Monitor? Single monitor life is plebian and you can pick up a second display for cheap around this time.
Oh definitely. They should have left it in since now those of us who already have programmable peripherals are at an advantage to those who don't.
I feel similarly about mice as you do, and I went with this mouse. Don't let the cost fool you, it has an excellent sensor, and the weight feels perfect for me. It's light, if that's your style. Rocket Jump Ninja has a great review of the G203 which is what made me decide to purchase it.
I had that keyboard as well. It got the job done but not much else. I replaced it with the one below. Great keyboard for the price.
See you out there!!
Steam name is "Masked Corndog" if you need someone to play with
Redragon K552 RED LED Backlit... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016MAK38U?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Do you have any suggestions as to how I could look into thermal throttling in my PC? I am looking at swapping my stock cpu fan for the following; Corsair CW-9060025-WW Hydro Series H100i V2 240 mm Extreme Performance All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler - Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B019EXSSBG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Hmt.ybM9QB2M8
The CPU cooler is now the only one to be swapped out. I have 3 120mm case fans on at all times with the GPU able to power up 2 additional case fans when the GPU reaches a certain temp, as well as the built-in 3 GPU fans.
I'll be sure to check my PUBG video settings tomorrow to mirror yours and see what it says. I have removed the ini files in the past but will be sure to do that again tomorrow also.
Thanks for your advice!
Is it a great movie? Probably not. But it's a fairly unique one. I think it's worth a watch, particularly if you play Battle Royale games. It's mostly a shock film though (Middle School kids killing each other!).
The novel, on the other hand, was really great through and through. I can only vouch for the original translation, but the updated version sounds good from reviews!
What also funny is that in real life, this is not actually a problem. Soldiers and civilians alike have electronic hearing protection that deadens all noise and then amplifies sounds within a certain frequency and decibel range to allow you to function. In fact, some models are so good that when I turned the sensitivity all the way up, I can hear much better than a normal person. You can get a decent pair for $35
I have this monitor and I would never go back. It's glorious and I will take 144hz over 1440p. My spouse has a 1440p monitor and while it is nice...it's not smooth as butter nice
Sennheiser makes good stuff, but the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro's go for $135: https://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-DT-990-Pro-250-Professional-Acoustically-Headphones/dp/B0011UB9CQ/ref=sr_1_1/145-9207304-2318425?ie=UTF8&qid=1499389731&sr=8-1&keywords=beyerdynamic+dt990
A little bit more money but I can definitely vouch for the quality Beyerdynamic provides.
Get these ones. Amazing open back headphones. I have the 250ohm w/ a headphone amp (You'll need a headphone amp if you get the 250ohms. Get the 80ohms if you don't want to invest in a headphone amp).

Obviously not as I don't know what their full tech stack is. As a network engineer however, I know that operating costs for infrastructure are quite expensive.
I also know that they are running on Amazon AWS servers. From a patch note in May, they mention they are running on the "highest possible spec machines that AWS offers". Feel free to look up for yourself what some of those costs can be.
I strongly recommend this monitor:
https://www.amazon.com/LG-34UC79G-B-34-Inch-21-UltraWide/dp/B01LW5CGIS
It's a 144hz ultrawide and if you look around you can sometimes find them for cheap
HyperX Cloud II are my recommendation for closed ear headphones. They're pretty soundproof; I often have to take them off to hear someone talking to me in the same room. They work very well for CS:GO and PUBG and I often hear enemies well before my teammates.
They have USB (7.1 Virtual Surround Sound) and 3.5mm connections.
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PC/dp/B00SAYCVTQ
Do they make mini skillets that are the size of a refrigerator magnet?
Edit: It looks like there is a small 3.5 inch egg and sauce skillet on Amazon for $5. Not quite small enough to be a knick-knack, but it would make an excellent paperweight/magnetic clip holder.
I'll probably mock something up.
I don't like the crate system, but PUBG is expensive, and they need recurring income to keep it operating over several years. Here's a breakdown of their minimum server cost ($1.68m/month):
1200 NA instances always online at $1399 a month equals $1.68m per month. More than 127k players in game? Price goes up. Players elsewhere in the world? Price goes up. Sell more copies? Price goes up.
Rough estimate, PUBG costs $4m in server costs monthly, before the cost of employees. They currently have ~3 years of runway. Selling more copies doesn't necessarily increase this runway, because server costs go up the more people play.

I got mine for $18 at a Target. Not sure where you are but those prices are way too much.
For sure, the advice is very helpful. I am pretty new to PC gaming. Now that i'm making good money I was able to go out and buy a top end computer but I don't know too much about getting the most out of it.
I'm going to make the graphic changes you suggested (removing v-sync and very low anti aliasing). And I'm going to start putting some money aside so I can buy a monitor within the next two months.
Another question, what do you think of this monitor? https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG271QX-Gaming-Monitor-144hz/dp/B01G5JYN0C/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1505593901&sr=8-8&keywords=144hz%2B1440p&th=1
You're on about hardline. As its impossible to mess up installing liquid cooling.
If you want something good that is inexpensive i can recommend this. If it has any flaw at all for a mechanical, clicky-as-fuck-and-loud-without-headphones-on, 100% anti-ghosting, TKL, illuminated, and sturdy enough to kill someone with (and still function perfectly), $30 keyboard it's that it is driver-less (so no macros and sadly it can’t remember brightness levels between restarts). It doesn't bother me though since the default max-brightness is not an issue and red seems to be the best color for an illuminated keyboard (eyes are too sensitive to green and blue, whereas red is 100% unnoticeable in the peripheral vision unless you look down at it). Honestly I think real cherry blues would be slightly better but the “professional” keyboards just seem stupidly overpriced after being exposed to this one. EDIT: I forgot to mention that the switches on this thing can be pulled out and swapped if that's your thing, or if any should happen to die (its stood up to my abuse for many months so i'm not worried).
