Seconded. They are the only kind I've found that actually fit his frame without looking ridiculous.
There's also a fantastic pair of shorts by Lee's that I found on Amazon. Kinda pricey, but well worth it. We've had the same 2 pairs for over a year now and I swear, they look brand new and my boy is HARD on his clothes. Good luck!
This is a great book that shows you what is developmentally appropriate for little kids. If you read a book like this, then if there is an issue, like a speech delay, you will notice it earlier and be able to get help earlier. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553393820/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
