There's a Disney reference in season 2 that I don't think comes up unless you listen to the soundtrack (available to Amazon Prime members here).

The song "By The Way" plays as he's getting off the train in Season 2 Episode 1... but it stops before it gets to the second verse (I don't believe it picks up later, either).

Second verse lyrics:
I used to love this song called Not in Nottingham...
'Cause I think it gave me some important perspective,
Every town, has it's ups and downs,
Yeah I know it man, so I'm going,
But I'd trade my soul with anyone else on this train...

"Not in Nottingham" is a depressing little song from the animated Disney movie Robin Hood that has a really similar feel to "By The Way", and fits the mood of the entire show really really well.

Not in Nottingham lyrics:
Every town
Has its ups and downs
Sometimes ups
Outnumber the downs
But not in Nottingham

I'm inclined to believe
If we were so down, we'd up and leave
We'd up and fly if we had wings for flying
Can't you see the tears we're crying?
Can't there be some happiness for me?
Not in Nottingham

The season 2 soundtrack on Amazon has quite a few of Alex Wurman's track. If you're a fan of the show, the season 1 and season 2 soundtracks are must own. They should be mandatory!

There’s an album on Amazon Music. Michael Dorman is only credited with one song, but I believe he at least collaborated on all of them.

You can buy The Jones Sisters album on Amazon too, and they will be releasing it on vinyl soon, and doing a small tour after that. https://www.amazon.com/Perpetual-Grace-Soundtrack-Jones-Sisters/dp/B07VVH8M7X

Judging by the cover, I guess the "lonely man in water" theme is important for Steven Conrad.

David Simon took a year off of work at the Baltimore Sun to follow Baltimore homicide detectives around. He wrote this book called Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets based on that experience. This research was the basis for 3 shows: Homicide: Life on the Streets, the Corner, and the Wire.

Have you seen Homicide? I think its first 3 seasons are objectively better than the Wire (in a way that Patriot isn't). It also has Frank Pembleton in it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgA3mOTQ2gA
