this build will do everything you need it to do and do it like a beast.

For monitors you can either go with 2 of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00P6O3YYO/ref=psdc_428652031_t2_B00OA2I362

or you can go with something like this:

Dell Ultra HD 4K Monitor P2415Q 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor

or a 27 inch here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PC9HFNY/ref=twister_B014R6J7VU?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

and get a really cheap monitor like this:http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-monitor-fx2490hd
that would be my recommendation. get the 27 inch if your really going to need it, and the 20 dollor TV, or get a 24 inch version

http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Monitor-P2415Q-24-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B00PC9HFNY

and save the extra money. Just my 2 cents. GL on the build! promise you wont regret it :D

I’d save a bit of money and go with a b450 board unless you absolutely need the pcie 4.0. this MSI tomahawk is good or this Gaming pro Carbon if you want wifi built in. The other things I’d swap is your ssd for an intel 660p. It’s cheaper and faster.

As for a cooler, with the black theme you’ve got going a dark rock pro 4 would look pretty sweet in there, just check compatibility with your memory for clearance.

Now I need to figure out how to connect to the internet haha. I dont think my cousin has a wireless connection. I noticed he had an Ethernet cable connected to his tower. I saw this online

https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-TL-WDN4800-Wireless-network-Adapter/dp/B007GMPZ0A

Do you recommend a better wireless adapter for pc?

u/KittieLandLoveCenter · 1 pointr/PcBuild

I'd go 16GB on the RAM. This may not be the best deal, but what I found thru the same site.

Also, on the cooler, this tested on par with the 212 and is a few dollars cheaper to help offset memory cost.

Canadian prices throw me off too. 😅

Everything is looking fine dude except the power supply. Stay away from the brand Thermaltake.

Try to get something like this>

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-BRONZE-Warranty-Tester-100-B1-0500-KR/dp/B00DZ6R9GE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1473733025&sr=8-2&keywords=evga+500w

If you have any questions people ask away. :)

You might just try the built in cooler and only upgrade if it’s throttling/causing you performance issues.

If I were to buy the graphic card in the link below, 1, do you think my current 7 1700 will bottleneck it, and 2 if it does, which one would you recommend ( something that is cheap, works well, and does not bottleneck my graphics card.

Wait a second, ima find u a better one. (one with g-sync maybe, because Nvidia supports freesync but only if it goes through displayport and not hdmi)

Edit: for example this one, it has the 144hz 1ms
AND it has g sync for your nvidia gpu. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XFA240-bmjdpr-Response-Technology/dp/B06ZYHZ6R6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=gsync+144hz+monitor&qid=1566119516&s=gateway&sprefix=G+sync+144&sr=8-3
Edit2: it are just suggestions, pls look into it yourself too before purchase

Take the motherboard out and look for blown capacitors or damaged board.

Some places can just replace the capacitors (Very small soldering iron tip and flux)

I had a similar problem not too long ago. Turns out the bottom of the board had a short. Looked like water damage had erroded the board away and broke part of the copper connection inside the board itself. That's harder to fix but you can use something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Circuit-Scribe-Conductive-Ink-Pen/dp/B00OZATJ3A to repair the connection.

I advise against this but as a last ditch effort you could try.

Other than that it's a new mobo i'm afraid. Good news tho. Motherboards are fairly cheap (Depending on what type you want/need)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZYHZ6R6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6uphDbBQF28HX this is a pretty good monitor. It’s 144hz and there is also a 1440p version of it

Eizo CG-318-4K 31.1" DCI 4K Hardware Calibration IPS Monitor 4096x2160 (CG318-4K-BK) ... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00THQQ3E0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_5bGAwbR1Q23AE

I was looking at getting 2 of these https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-2133-288-Pin-Memory-CMV8GX4M1A2133C15/dp/B00SV7IILC/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=8GB+%282X4GB%29+DDR4+2133MHz+SDRAM+Memory&qid=1572849776&s=electronics&sr=1-4

But you are saying I should be able to run something a bit faster/better if we are talking about a memory upgrade?

Do you have anything you could point me to?

gaming and watching videos.

Main games i play are:

  • Runescape
  • Minecraft
  • CoD: Black Ops 2
  • Civilisation
  • Total War: Shogun 2

With regards the monitors, I've deliberately chosen two that are the same size as I've been using different sized monitors for years and it's always annoyed me.

I've been told else where that two of these would be better as they would be native resolution..
