I assume you mean a ryzen 7 2700. Actually, on amazon, the ryzen 7 2700x is selling for $189 . If you want to save money there and go for a better graphics card, then sure! It just depends on what you want to use the pc for. If you want to go for a gaming pc, I recommend saving the $100 with the 2700x and investing that money in a better graphics card. If you need the processing power, stick with the cpu you have.

Thanks! I just want to transfer the files, but I don't mind putting it inside my pc while it transfers.

Would something like this also work? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OEBO6E?pf_rd_p=b4b36b89-db1d-45ae-9084-4fd14a329395&pf_rd_r=51MRWE2KAWK9TW1EQVJ1

It's only 10 bucks.

Honestly all you need is another 4+4 pin CPU cord/adapter, I ran into the same issue building last week. Just check that your PSU has another slot available for that, if not then yes you do need to choose another unit altogether. But your computer will run safely without the extra 4 pin, if you don’t plan on overclocking at all.

Here’s a link to an example of what cord I’m referring to: CPU 8 Pin Male to CPU 8 Pin (4+4 Detachable) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VF887KN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cqY3DbB2XB2P3
