I currently have the ultra fit flash drives as well......Was using a cruzer fit as test drive for custom patched games before installing but now have a concern as the cruzer fit is designed like the ultra fit in the way it is plastic and just tossed out my test cruzer fit due to plastic breaking. I like how small the ultra fit is so I wanting opinions on Micro SD cards as thinking of going this route - https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-MobileMate-microSD-Card-Reader/dp/B07G5JV2B5/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=Micro%2BSD%2BReader&qid=1566062221&s=electronics&sr=1-5&th=1 since it is metal compared to plastic.

I don't have one, but it sure looks like it will work just fine.

From Amazon (is it this one?):

https://www.amazon.com/Macally-Powered-Power-Adapter-TriHub4/dp/B001DBF07I

Smart move to get a powered hub. Too many people think they can plug any flash drive into the usb ports on the PSC and expect it to work, but this is simply is not true. Even a flash drive that has been working for a long time can suddenly go corrupt.

u/AltMagOnline · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

Yeah the Rii F1 Micro is perfect, it's better spending a little bit more to get a decent quality OTG cable IMO (the cheap angled adapters look worrying).

I also just bought this 32gb USB flash drive for my sister (I have the 64gb version): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cruzer-Fit-Flash-Drive-SDCZ33-064G-B35/dp/B00812F7O8/ (needs to be the 2018 edition).

With that USB flash drive I could hack from the 2nd front port, before moving to the back with OTG.

Try this here https://www.amazon.it/gp/aw/d/B06XWSH129?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image I have an "old" LG tv in my room (which I also take here and there for playing with friends) and this solution works fine.. screen may result little ok.. but.. it's fine for playing old games as they used to be.. I guess.. 😂 this one requires the scart cable or adapter tought.. otherwise you can try https://www.amazon.it/your-orders/pop/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_pop?_encoding=UTF8&gen=canonical&lineItemId=jgsjmtjrmopuqoy&orderId=171-5950673-6723521&packageId=1&returnSummaryId=&returnUnitIndices=&shipmentId=D6GFHghpL this one if you use the cables but the result seems to be less good than the one above ..

Let me know if it worked 👍

I've found this one works a lot better for any controller/system:

https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-Magic-NS-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B079B5KHWQ

I use it for PC, PSC, and Switch.

My respect for 8bitdo has decreased a lot in the last couple years.

u/KazakiLion · 2 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

Interesting project idea! I’m not sure you could get it down to that size without a custom PCB, but it’s definitely within the realm of possibility. You’d need a USB-A Out Breakout Board, a USB-A In Breakout Board, a small Micro SD Card Reader, a small USB Hub PCB, and a 3D printer. If you stuck to using breakout boards, you could still probably get something close to the size of an original PlayStation memory card.

u/fazzitron · 2 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

I'm gonna reply before you waste your money.

This is NOT what you will need and does NOT do what you want it to. On the product page, it even says, "This cable functions as a signal transmitter, but NOT a signal converter." Cables like are not what you're looking for.

What you ARE looking for is this.

https://www.amazon.com/enKo-Component-Converter-Scaler-support/dp/B015RWVD4C

EDIT: Looks like you might actually need RCA.

I am guessing you have Bleemsync setup. I am not quite sure since I have never tried it, but I am sure you can use this powered USB hub. Though I am not quite sure if the USB hub itself will be able to produce enough power to power 3 or 4 controllers. With controllers w/ Dualshock I am not quite sure. With games, it depends on how rare the game is. Since the console is VERY old, most games are easy to find but I am not going to give any links that I know.

u/lMicrosoftSaml · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

Can't tell you if it's guaranteed to work or not but using one of these https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-microSDHC-Memory-Reader-FCR-MRG2/dp/B0028R3NCU/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=micro+sd+to+usb+2.0&qid=1562551840&s=gateway&sr=8-3 and the normal method should work fine

Really no other way that isn't extremely overly complicated. I recommend just buying a 2.0 USB thumb drive off amazon

u/RockstarGTA6 · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

Just got this , problem solved , also I have 2 usb flashdrives and now when I switch I don’t need to unplug the power cord from the ps classic

I saw this posted here working great

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N336XEU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/gloriusking · 3 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

I would recommend a 2.0 usb I believe they take less to power or atleast mine did. I had a 3.0 usb and it would boot into autobleem 25% of the time.

I use one of these now. I have purchased several and they all work. I don’t even have to make sure everything is unplugged.

SanDisk Cruzer Glide CZ60 32GB... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008AF380Q?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/tb21666 · 2 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

I've successfully used/tested a SanDisk 256GB, Seagate 1TB & Seagate 4TB drives, none with their own power source & all via OTG.

u/khedoros · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

It's super-variable. Some SD cards have trash speeds, and some would work well. Since micro SD cards are often used in smartphones, there's an "Application Performance Class" rating that was added fairly recently. You could look for cards that advertise the "A1" rating, like this one, or you can look for SD cards with similar benchmarks to the USB keys.

u/Super-X2 · 0 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

No that's not it. It's definitely caused by unplugging it from the PSC, I ran a multitude of tests to verify.

I get this error sometimes, but it has never caused any real issues, I just let windows do the check and it has never had any problems.

The best thing you can do is let it sit for at least 10 seconds after the orange light comes on. I don't unplug the cable, never have. I have always used one of these and I much prefer it over unplugging the damn thing every time. https://www.amazon.com/NorthPada-Raspberry-Supply-Charger-Adapter/dp/B01N336XEU

u/Darragh_McG · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

Right. I was hoping someone could link me to a hub thats known to work. You also have to factor in the distance between ports as the controller plug is quite wide.

I was looking at this one -- https://amzn.to/2Wci7od -- but I do have the Amazon Basics 3.0 hub and it doesn't work.

Case: Hermitshell Hard EVA Travel Case Fits Meyoung/ELEPHAS Portable Projector 1080P 1200 Lumens LED Mini Pico Video Projector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072L7ZCDS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PWDrDbCW2QETD

Screen - not sure it's in stock anymore, it's the 7" uhd from uperfect: UPERFECT Portable Monitor 7 Inch... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K23TSGT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Battery is a 10,000 mah from Anker, runs about 6hrs

I used 90° hdmi and USB adapters to run cords behind the screen without too much bending/force

I really enjoyed the project but this is also an option if you're not into building your own:

G-STORY 11.6 Inch FHD Gaming Monitor for PlayStation Classic(Console not Included), With Carrying Case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N485LBV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_12DrDbCQ1P0D7

u/Spexor · 0 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

From everything I've read USB 3.0 is fine if you stay under 64gb. I followed a guide online and grabbed this one. I used a guide I found online and it worked for me.

u/Caliboarder94 · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079B5KHWQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3z17CbE3G976Q

I have one of these and use it on multiple consoles including the classic. Works flawlessly.

u/biznatch · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

If you want to use the Dualshock 3 wirelessly, I would pick up a Mayflash Magic-NS.

u/fpreston · 2 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Cruzer-Glide-Flash-Drive/dp/B008AF380Q

I found that drive in a drawer full of old ones I had laying around and it worked. I can not say if this particular one will 100% work or not since it is probably using newer parts internally.

u/Androxilogin · 2 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

It's actually a MicroSD and a cheap china converter. MicroSD plus MicroSD to USB converter.

u/cnterr · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

This SanDisk Ultra 3.1?

https://www.amazon.it/SanDisk-Ultra-Unit%C3%A0-Flash-Velocit%C3%A0/dp/B07857Y17V

How did you format it? I can't get it to work, neither with OTG nor with powered HUB.

u/MainHaze · 4 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

I had bought one of these AmazonBasics 7 Port Powered Hubs a few years ago now. Tried it for the hell of it on my PSC. Works like a charm!

u/OG_Gandora · 3 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

I found this guy on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N485LBV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cjcBDbJ5VPH9D

But I’m also thinking of putting a monitor in the Hitman 2 replica gun case to make something similar.

u/WeededDragon1 · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

I use this hub:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TPMEOYM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00

with this USB:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BGTG2A0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title

but I think any type of USB drive/external hard drive would work with that hub. I wouldn't recommend the drive I use because it overheats when transferring games. I even power the PS Classic from the hub...

u/DualCay0te · 1 pointr/PlaystationClassic

That HDMI to AV converter you've linked to does not work with the PSC. It works fine for the NES and SNES Mini's but not on the PS Classic. You just get a black screen, no image.

Looking at the pic he posted of his TV, this will work.

And he can go one of two ways with that. He can connect it to the SCART connection at the back of his TV, or he can purchase this to connect to that HDMI to SCART (composite) converter and then connect it to the AV on his TV.

u/ocram101 · 2 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

I hate having the USB sticking out of the console all the time as well. I ended up buying one of these. It is very small and hard to notice. It almost looks like an empty controller port.

u/D34DL1N3R · 2 pointsr/PlaystationClassic

I use a cable exactly like that one and am having (mostly) zero issues so I don't think it's the cable itself. I am a firm believer that even via OTG any given flash stick or (micro) SD card is still hit or miss. I have four different microSD cards and several different adapters & I said "(mostly)" because my 4, 16, and 128 GB cards all work with every adapter.... but my 200GB card does not work with ANY of the adapters, at all. It just boots to stock despite the fact there's nothing wrong with that specific card.

All in all, I'd chalk the slowdown to either 1.) not enough power from whatever power source you are using, 2). a bad/corrupted/incompatible microSD card, 3.) a bad microSD reader/adapter, 4.) corrupt game files, or 5.) any combination of 1-4. I very much doubt it's the cable, but as I said... I think regardless of OTG the entire thing is STILL very finicky and picky. OTG does not equate guaranteed compatibility & I think too many people are under the assumption that it does - then are surprised when their stick or card doesn't work.

Here is the setup I have:
