Hey there beautiful! 🥰
After reading about the hardware on your bag tarnishing, I’ve done a little research and there are some options of putting protection to the hardware so it won’t tarnish, although I don’t know how effective they are 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’ve found this on amazon:
ProtectaClear 4 Oz. Clear, Protective Coating for Polished Metals, Stainless Steel, Jewelry - Prevent Tarnish & Protect Skin from Allergies https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0186N6ZVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_VmP0CbBKB5YS5
I’m planning on purchasing it and trying it on, so I’ll let you know if it does make a difference.
Awesome review! 🥰

u/karaokeprincess · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

Thanks for letting me know about your review! I think it looks so good! 😍 I’m sorry about what happened with the zipper, but at least you got it fixed and Oli is willing to send you replacement parts 😊 I have not ordered from Oli before but this is really making me consider it!

I wanted a PSM so bad that I snatched one up in mono on the BST page that was originally from Fubar888. I did a DIY to the straps and front leather tab and it turned out pretty good! This is what it looks like now. Maybe I’ll have to get the reverse one now too 😂

edit: as for the sheen on LV pieces I saw on this sub that a woman recommended Fiebing Resoline. I just searched “Fiebing Resoline” on amazon and that one popped up. I haven’t tried it myself but I ordered it and it should get to be on Saturday. Apparently the sheen from this lasts longer than Lexol.

Hi girls! So I bought a black Gucci Soho Disco from Joy about a year ago. Honestly do not love the quality because when compared to an auth. the leather isn't as supple/buttery, and a well used auth. sort of falls into itself whereas my version is still super stiff and boxy, even after I've used it a lot. I'm not even sure if it's real leather, but it just goes with SO many outfits, so I still wear it quite a bit.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to try to condition the leather on your reps to make them look more authentic/improve the look of the leather? I was looking on Amazon and found this, which has a bunch of good reviews but wanted to know if anyone had any better suggestions?

Thanks so much!!!

So our cleaning lady accidentally put my rep Chanel espadrilles in the donation bin a few months ago and last week I received a replacement from the same seller (AliExpress guy I added on whatsapp). They were the same size (37) but fit tighter and a tad shorter than my old ones :cries: so I went to Amazon to get a 4 way shoe tree to stretch them and came across this spray. OMG it was like a miracle! I sprayed in and out, put in the trees and left overnight. This morning they were perfect! Even loose enough to wear with thin no-show socks.

I know breaking in shoes can literally be a pain so I figured sharing this might help someone. Have a great day ladies!

This is super easy to do.
Unless you have horrible color transfer, you don't really need to use the cleaner. I typically love using pure Water Wipes to wipe down my bag after each use. I typically use Cadillac Conditioner (I also have apple conditioner) I prefer Cadillac on vachetta and Apple on treated leather. I use a generous amount on a soft cloth, and gently rub it into the bag. I often do one coat, let dry for 30 minutes and apply a second coat and let dry again.
I only condition once every 3-4 months unless you live in a very humid or dry location.
I swear by my Kiwi all protect spray for vachetta as well.

So, the problem with DHGate is that there are so many flops out there. Its a hard lesson to learn. I've done it, sometimes on purpose because I'm a glutton for punishment LOL. There are a couple good sellers. Fubar has average quality and OC does actually have a DHGate storefront as well. I feel like though, mostly as a rep noob, its best to steer clear of DHGate/Aliexpress because its very easy to overpay for something that is not that great.

Conversely with a trusted seller you'll get a good product, sure you might overpay, relatively speaking, because you didn't comparison shop enough, but it will less likely be a subpar rep.

I clicked on your DHGate link and while the neverfull is not the worst, I do feel like you overpaid. There was a review I commented on yesterday where she paid $80. I've paid $80-$90 for a 3A neverfull as well. I think the biggest thing that stood out to me was the interior color, its way purple.

Anyway - to speed up patina you can use neatsfoot oil (my preference) and the glazing can be fixed with rejuvenate wood furniture markers - mahogany or walnut color. For canvas sheen, I use nuvinyl

Have you tried shoe stretch spray in conjunction with a shoe stretcher?

It seems the leather is pretty soft and pliable on the espadrilles so I'm sure it would work. Do you need more width or more length?? I've stretched several pairs of rep shoes both width and length wise (including Gucci Brixtons and Prada brouges) with great success that way.

u/ichigoandcream · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

Thank you so much for your detailed review!! Tbh the Boy bag has never been on my radar due to the dimension width but after seeing your pictures, I realized there are more ways to wear it than just the shoulder. It looks amazing on you! I'm really loving the matte gold hardware with black and chevron <3 Now I want a GF Boy bag; my wallet does not thank you hahaha.

There's a hardware coating on Amazon called protectaclear I've seen mentioned on this sub you may want to try out (if it's not too late).

I keep my wardrobe fairly neutral and do great shoes and bags to spice it up. And yes, skulls are a neutral because I say they are.

I have cashmere sweaters in camel, gray, black, leopard, and skulls

I have fisherman sweaters in black, white, and skulls (alexander mcqueen).

Then I have TB "cashmere" hoodies in black, gray, and camel.

Turtlenecks from the same TB cashmere store in black and gray.

I layer my pullover sweaters with Uniqlo heattech shirts.

Then skinnies in blue and black, 2 each. That is basically enough to make infinite outfits that pair with infinite bags, booties, and sneaks.

If you're interested in a purse hook I have this one and it's great, it never slips off a table or something and you can hook it on a railing.

Glad to help! Other reviews of the shoes kept mentioning that maybe conditioning would help make the leather feels more like auth but didn't review in depth so I was nervous myself before I tried it out.

I use this Apple brand cleaner and conditioner on all my shoes and handbag! (US, unaffiliated link). People from the r/goodyearwelt and other leather subreddits recommended them as a standard choice, and it's worked well for me so far.

u/NesleylovesJam · 1 pointr/RepLadies

Omg so I partly blame and partly thank your well timed post for my leather care for reps haul just then. As I said, my SO is states side and I’m soo jealous of how much he has available and always make him hoard since we see each other every few months. This is what he just said about it - shoe cleaner/leather wash lol wtf.

Anyway, I stocked up on the Cadillac leather care. It was cheaper than Apple and had more and better reviews. Many of the users said they used for their Chanel handbags and it worked well, even on lighter colours. That sold me.

Off tangent to your post but I also made him pick up this metal coating - my friend swears by it. It keeps all her hardware and jewellery polished and sparkling. Don’t you look at some of your hardware/fashion jewellery after a bit abandonment and think “wtf happened to you??” Anyway, hopefully this will save me from all the $$ wasted throwing those out!

I know this isn’t going to help you being from Canada but when there’s a will there’s a way!

u/DailyMelody · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

Ohh I see! By the way is the right one to buy? Lexol 1215 Vinylex Protectant, 16.9-oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002KKHS8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MtFUzbYZ8GHB7 and by the way dumb question but will this only look good on dark canvas or will it help my neverfull damier azur have the shine a bit too :)

u/DoctorToaster · 15 pointsr/RepLadies

Leather Care Mini Review: I used Apple Brand leather cleaner to treat the color transfer on my light-colored Drew; I've been using it as my daily bag for a month. I gently cleaned it twice with the included cloth, and it looks 95% better. There was no darkening of the bag's leather color, and none of the bag's leather color came off on the cloth. I'll be conditioning later today with the conditioner from the set I linked above. I've also ordered the rain and stain repellent which I'll likely test out on some suede boots next week.

u/TheCityGirl · 1 pointr/RepLadies

Apple leather care is perfect for LV leather. It conditions without affecting its color or patina. It's available on Amazon :)

u/agm1989 · 0 pointsr/RepLadies

I have the leather conditioner in the green bottle. A little goes a long way! I just use an old towel. A couple coats seems to be the trick. And patience. There are a lot of YouTube videos some helpful some not! Towel conditioner and small circles like polishing anything is my method! I keep paper towels around to wipe off the conditioner when inevitably get it on the hardware also 😂

Hey guys just wanted to drop off some results for Lexol vinyl protector spray. The heart vernis cles is a bottom tier ioffer rep and the toiletries is fubar888's mid tier rep. I think the sheen substantially improves the look! I might make a guide with some befores/afters for some rep care/results if I get some more protectors/cleansers.

u/tossmeabagel · 1 pointr/RepLadies

Some popular options on PurseForum are Collonil spray/gel and the Apple Leather Care kit (for cleaning before spray) + Apple Rain & Stain Repellent!

u/LapOfLuxe · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

It's a felt organizer from Amazon! I already had this beige color to use in other similar sized totes. And I just ordered another one in red to go in the Ebene with red lining, too. The "large" size fits the MM perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0711GS9WV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_qmfMBbXADV6BZ

u/cutedoggoID · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

I used this here on my rep PSM from TS Apple and also on my auth key pouch, oh and my rep PM from OC, and it makes it look soooo much better. I highly recommend using it.

u/chrrie · 1 pointr/RepLadies

I’ve tried a ton and think this one works the best!

u/leonotaleo · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

I can live with that lol. I’m so used to suffocating shoes (and blisters) because of my big feet. I think I’m gonna buy some shoe stretchers from amazon a fellow RL recommended.

This one r/repLadiesAddict suggested looks great

u/annalynnvt · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

I have found applying this product to my irritating earrings to be really effective! I reapply every 10th wear or so. Takes less than 10 seconds to do both posts and then let them dry. Cheap and effective method thus far!

u/Mlzer · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

I use this. I’ve been slowly conditioning all of my vintage leather bags over the last couple days and it’s made a noticeable difference. My bags feel super soft and buttery afterwards.

u/derpy_herpy · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

This will be my first rep purse purchase so I'm excited! Do you know if Anna has a yupoo album? For the leather conditioner, maybe you can ask from any shoe stores like Aldo or you can buy one from Amazon. I see Cadillac brand always mentions here on RL. https://www.amazon.ca/Cadillac-Boot-Shoe-Care-Fl/dp/B008VJ95JE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=cadillac+leather+conditioner&qid=1563635334&s=gateway&sprefix=Cadillac+le&sr=8-1

u/connierubir0sa · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

I’m a size 10 and this thing has been a lifesaver: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0773HD6YR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ldFNDb4RH0WBK

I was able to salvage a pair of too small espadrilles and a pair of Gucci aces.

u/Kelpnis · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

>Buying shoes mail order is dicey, but I'm liking the results with my new Shoe strechers

https://www.amazon.com/Fiebings-Acrylic-Resolene-Oz-Protects/dp/B008ROOKIO/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=feibings&qid=1572030289&sr=8-2

This stuff. I put some on my LV pieces and they look amazing! It doesn't come off easy and application is fast. Just dilute it with some water and dab it on with a sponge.

u/handbaglover559 · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

Resolene helps with sheen and a bit with how it feels, there is a "how to" post, you'll have to search for it

Thanks for this info. Is it this one?

u/BeanBurrito2003 · 1 pointr/RepLadies

Here’s the Amazon link to the pen. It’s holding up great - but I also do not use this bag on a daily basis.

u/bobapanda · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

Here! Cannot guarantee the magic quantity, however 😂

Which Cadillac leather conditioner? This one
Cadillac Select Leather Lotion Cleaner and Conditioner- for Handbags, Sofas, Jackets, Furniture, Purses, and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012O1XJNC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JbY7Cb377QVS4
Or the second one

u/zmoneydaedae · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

I used this one recommended by another user on RepLadies: Obenauf's Leather Oil 8 oz. - Restores Dry Leather - Made in the US https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002Q907QU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_nPhu3cWiIFjhB

u/kmichaelchills · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

I used this leather oil from amazon. I will post pics of the patina later today!

u/Mother_of_Doxies · 1 pointr/RepLadies

A generic Leather Honey off of Amazon. It really made a difference!

u/Mare72 · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

You should use Cadillac Boot & Shoe Leather Lotion the SA at Saks recommended it for my authentic Chanel

u/elizabetch_taylor · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

It’s this guy here

I plan to use either a small synthetic paint brush or sponge. Have to do some experimenting first. From what I’ve read it’s hard to screw it up, but you should wait 24 hours after application for it to dry completely. I’ll let you know how it goes!

u/coffeebunnie · 1 pointr/RepLadies

Not a problem! I probably read it in the wrong tone. I had to patina my speedy when I got it because there was slight color transfer from my pants onto the strap. I used this in case you ever need to start the patina process faster. I would rather use this instead of olive oil. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002Q907QU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/cukevoy · 2 pointsr/RepLadies

I used the one most people on here recommended, in mahogany
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D8OKFP0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Edit: I feel bad that I'm getting the whole set to use just one of them... But I guess my wood tables are getting touch ups!

u/good_kuchikopi · 3 pointsr/RepLadies

That's tough especially for a bag that you use regularly. Wear is going to be near impossible to avoid, which is why I rotate my bags often. You can take preventative measures by pre-treating the leather with sprays or some sort of protectant. I've used Chamberlain's Leather Milk. Depending on the finish of the leather and to ensure it doesn't cause staining or other adverse effects, I would test it on a small patch first. I've never had any issues with traditional coated leather. As for the corners specifically, after it starts showing damage, I'm not sure there's anything that can be done other than to minimize the appearance. Be sure to condition your bag. My favorites ones are Cadillac and Apple. If it's a black bag, I've also used colored shoe polish from Meltonian or Kiwi to cover up discoloration. For the really tough jobs, a cobbler is the way to go.
