that is NOT an SSD drive, imho that's one of the cheaper/slower drives you can buy. just because it's branded doesn't make it ideal :) remember ANY drive works fine.

so you're locking the price point at around $90 no problem. that's what I was referring to in my original post... HDs get much more capacity for the same money, SSDs are a lot faster.

Here are some ~$90 SSD on Amazon, I just searched for "usb3 ssd 240GB":
https://www.amazon.com/MyDigitalSSD-240GB-SuperSpeed-Portable-Support/dp/B00EZ2FRP2
https://www.amazon.com/PNY-Elite-240GB-Portable-Solid/dp/B01GQPXBQC
https://www.amazon.com/KINGSHARE-USB3-0-External-Portable-Support-Silver/dp/B077FV4DDH

anything along those lines should work.. those are self contained SSD drives with a USB enclosure so the drive is more protected. Personally I got one of these which would let me connect any SATA (the data connector) drive to usb: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-USB3S2SAT3CB-Drive-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00HJZJI84
and then bought a nice fast 240GB SSD drive when it went on sale... this deal is already over but here's an example:
https://slickdeals.net/f/11538691-240gb-crucial-bx300-sata-2-5-solid-state-drive-58-40-free-shipping
or this: https://slickdeals.net/f/11535383-patriot-burst-2-5-sata-iii-internal-ssd-240gb-55-120gb-36-free-shipping?src=SiteSearch

so theoretically if you got the drive for around $50-60 and the $10 cable you saved around $20-30 from your $90 price point. all depends on how much you care about having a nice enclosure. Personally I have no problem sitting the raw drive attached by cable on my xbox in my entertainment center it's pretty secure. If you have kids or dogs or the xbox is exposed I'd get one in an enclosure

.

When you finally get a drive and plug it in to your Xbox, the Xbox should prompt you asking what you want to do with the drive... if not just go into settings / system / storage. You need to tell the Xbox that you want to use it for GAMES (as opposed to just media) so it will need to format the drive. At that point, you can move games (via the Manage Game dialog) from wherever it is currently installed to the external drive. Since it's Windows, there's also a "default install location" you can change if you want things you download to automatically go the external drive.

Here is what I play on. I love it.
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=2WC-000N-00068

I play on legendary graphics and get a steady 60 FPS at all times. My only complaint about it is it tends to run a tad bit hot.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0713PHFRW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use that cooler and it is great.

I also recommend this as an added purchase
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WER27Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a solid all around system without paying an arm and a leg.

I like your idea, but I think it's less likely to happen as opposed to M&K support. I would prefer a more level playing field, K&M support gives me that w/out having to buy a full PC. Mice and keyboards aren't that expensive.

Edit: K&M combo starts at $15 https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Wired-Keyboard-Mouse-Bundle/dp/B00B7GV802/ref=sr_1_3_acs_sk_pb_2_sl_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543339419&sr=8-3-acs&keywords=mouse+and+keyboard

Pirates of the Caribbean Liar’s Dice I’ve played this game at a friend’s house and it’s great fun because you have to trick the other person into thinking you’re telling the truth or not. I’d love to do this over voice chat with a “Yes” or “No” option to see if it’s a Lie or not.

>Or for another example I couldn't get into Skyrim and barely managed to play enough to beat the main storyline. Does that mean the game isn't worth 60 bucks?

Skyrim costs $22.95 if SoT costs $30 no one would be complaining.

>My point was all games aren't for all people.

My point is that no one is arguing that all games should be for all people and thus your statement is irrelevant to the discussion being had.

>Off topic- Why so angry? What compelled you to come at me with such vitriol? Seriously man it's a game. Take a breath.

Always strikes me as weird when people post things like this - I'm not mad or angry in the least - what would give you that idea? The use of bold? It's literally the addition of two asterisks on either side of your typing... I assure you, I'm not mad, and there's no vitriol in my post (so sensitive, geeze...)

I think it's pretty clear you'd enjoy the game regardless if they charged $150 or $10. Good for you. I think this sub, and the general reception of the game (a simple google search will show you) have shown that Rare has made some serious design and business mistakes.

If people like you want to continue to support that, go for it, who am I to tell you what to do with your money? Where I feel you miss the mark is not accepting that you are in the vast minority in feeling this way, and that if you continue to be such a minority of the market, the game you cherish will surely go the way of Lawbreakers, Battleborn, or D2.

I suggest you take a step back and reassess how much you are concerned about the perceived anger of other posters and focus on what can and should be done to fix the game you and others so vehemently defend.

Go grab this headset. $8.25 on Amazon. You don't have to chat if you don't want but being able to when necessary is a huge game changer.

Then search Xbox LFG til you see something that strikes your fancy. Send a request to join. Say hi when invited to the party then you'll more than likely be invited to the game. I for one don't like playing with someone who doesn't have a mic. I don't mind if you stay quiet while we're goofing off but being able to say "exploder skelly behind you" is a real help.

If you can get it in your state/country, Ron Diplomatico is awesome. The "reserva" is cheaper, but is a mixed version of the original. Both are still very tasty. I find it all over the South, but here is a UK Amazon link..

Seems it can be etched using a cream. Amazon sells a kit for fairly cheap. Would be a neat hobby to get into!

You can use these stickers:

https://www.amazon.com/Scope-Glow-Decal-Not-Machine-Specific/dp/B004HO21C0

A piece of tape

A monitor that has it as an option.

Everything else would be considered bannable.

In high school a guy who sat near me was reading a book. When I asked him what it was he said "Sodomy and the Pirate Tradition." I asked no further questions. Link below:

A lot of those stories sound bland because they were written by British Naval officers who tended to keep things short and to the point. A case in point being captain Bartholomew Roberts (if I remember it's been a while since I read about this) he was the most prolific pirate of all times in terms of ships captured, the reason for this being that he was known to be a harsh captain and ran his ship like a military vessel. The British finally caught up to him off the west coast in Africa and were finally able to take him down. What the reports fail to make a mention of was that they caught them in the middle of an intense storm with waterspouts apparently and that the only reason they were able to take him down was because most of his crew was still drunk from the night before since they raided a town. The actual history from the golden age of piracy is full of stories like this. Just gotta find the books that go into them a bit more.

This is the book a read years ago that has a ton of the stories you are looking for!

The Historical Naval Ships Association (hnsa.org) has a decent amount of interesting tidbits but much of it is fleet-focused.

Wiki also has some good bits:

Much of this is, of course, entirely useless in the context of Sea of Thieves. There are some things, however, that research can really drive home. An excellent example is how a leeward ship will generally be rolling away from a windward ship, while the windward ship is rolling towards the opponent. Thus, the ship with the gauge can be nearly impossible to strike below the waterline, whereas the leeward ship is massively vulnerable. Many a SoT galleon duel has been decisive because of this. Try it next beta - If you have the gauge, sidle up about 100 meters off the enemy flank. Not a single cannonball they fire will hit your lower deck, while your guns will have free reign to hit below their waterline with every shot.
