Also have an iPhone 8 Plus, brand new, also with a new SteelSeries Nimbus, works great!
The update may have fanagled with the controller cursor a bit(Some cases it might not show even when connected).
Also this clamp will work with the Nimbus perfectly(I also use this clamp) Clamp
Made for iPhone, I recommend the steel series nimbus controller. It’s really good
