I had this issue, but was finding my hands were so large that I was damn bear overlapping my fingers on themselves around the bat.

I grabbed these Grip-N-Rip handle grips (one symmetrical original one, and one called the "trigger" which has two finger slots and a tapered palm side) off of Amazon for a few bucks a piece for my bats, I now have a more comfortable grip, and the butt no longer rests against my hand.

They've been durable through two seasons, and go on easily with a little soap water. Avoid adhesion on the inside for the tapered grip, you will want to rotate which part of your barrel you contact with everyone couple months at most.

Hope this helps you too, I spent a solid 10 years of my "beer-career" with hand pains.

Batting gloves are also an option if you're not yet using any (your hand may just be irritated slightly from it being a soft area of skin)

Cheers

I enjoyed the 2013 Demarini J3A. Some folks do complain about durability, but only issue I had was an endcap issue but nothing some epoxy glue couldn't fix. The J3A used to go for 300, could be 200 if not less since the 2014 Juggy is out, heard the 2014 Juggy is similar.

As ingloriousredditor pointed out the Flipper Aftermath I hear a lot of good things (haven't tried it myself).

The Demarini Fu Dawg also is a pretty good bat (I bought that as a team bat 2013 and its been holding up fairly well). I got mine for about $200. The 2014 model is also out and goes for 300 retail. Could be less if you shop around.

The Easton 2013 L6.0 is also a pretty nice bat as well, and you can find it for roughly that price that Brocktoberfest pointed out. Amazon also has the 28oz for 120

My friend has a the B3 which is also nice, a bit more balance compared to the L6, but I prefer my fu dawg over the b3.

Lot of options, just depends on your price range.

edit: just saw this and figure this may help at least for the demarini line

If she wants to just generally work on her catching skills for line drives, throws, grounders etc You could get a handball and go to a handball court at a local park (or really just any building with a thick wall and a large area to run around behind it). She could throw the ball against the Wall and then catch it with her glove. The Smaller ball will bounce out of the glove more easily so she'll be forced to work on catching with two hands.

They actually sell a ball designed to bounce around that is helpful for working on reaction time and reflexes: https://www.hockeyshot.com/SKLZ-Reaction-Ball-p/sklz-001.htm that is particularly useful if she plays infield.

You could also get a Rebounder: https://www.amazon.com/SKLZ-PitchBack-Baseball-Throwing-Fielding/dp/B003D6FDBY/ These are pretty nice because it works with Softballs and baseballs and it can bounce balls up in the air depending on your angle, same concept though

You should look for something like this. They're pretty easy to find online and I think k other brands have something similar.
Adams USA Trace Long Style Softball Knee Guard (X-Small, Gold) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003WXHZCS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Erb7CbEHG98HN

Maybe you'd be more confident wearing a fielder's mask? Does anyone on your team wear one?

These basketball pads work well, good knee padding protection and act as a compression sleeve. They also have thin softball pads but they only cover the knee, not the whole leg.

I've used these in the past with good results. Used to pick them up at my local sports authority but haven't seen them in-store for a few years.

With one of these. She averaged 65, with a few in a row at 67.
