Not really. The sidelights are a nice and cheap upgrade, but probably affects more trichome production than yield.

Its really hard to recommend those small fans for filters, my advice would be to get an inline fan and filter and not overcomplicate things. ONA gel is also a good solution for odors.

Check the bucket plant guide for tips from the community. The best kind of experience will be your first hand experience. You should expect to kill some plants before mastering the proccess. In a Space Bucket, the main challenge is keeping the plant as short as possible. If you keep it low the lighting will be more effective, and the flowers more awesome.

THIS POWER SUPPLY, the Supernight LED Charger. It is $20.99. You will also need a power cord for it, which I recommend just going to literally ANY thrift store and picking out a nice three-pronged power cord. I'm fairly certain that any three-pronged power cord will work, so if you have one you're not using at home, you can use that.
THIS LED GROW LIGHT, which is 300w and cost $50.99.

I bought one of this black duct tape, one of this foil tape (although I recommend buying two, as I ran out with my first roll and had to buy another from the store), and also some double-sided tape, because, if your LED strip is like mine, the adhesive backing is almost nonexistent and the tape becomes necessary.
Oh, and good-quality velcro adhesive patches!
You will also need a power drill and a sturdy box cutter.
I started by taping the entire interior of one bucket with the foil tape, save for the bottom portion where the soil goes. Then I covered the outside with the black tape. Next I drilled holes in the bottom for drainage.
Then I took two of the other buckets and used a ruler's width to mark a cut line right below the lip of each bucket to create spacers. The process of cutting the plastic buckets was definitely the worst part of the process, especially since I didn't have a great cutter, so if you're getting a new one, don't be too cheap. I got this one and it's blade locking function no longer works after this project, so be advised. I lined the spacers with foil tape.
Using the remains of one of the other buckets, I trimmed more of the bucket down so that it's now only the bottom and stands 5" tall. I found some random large screws in my toolbox and drilled them around the circumference, which allows the rest of the bucket to be easily lifted off of the drain pan.
I then drew a circle about 1 cm in from the lip of the lid and cut that out. The light fits perfectly on it. There is lots of light escape at the rim, but it looks pretty cool, so I don't mind it for now.
For the power supply, I cut off the female end of the three-pronged cord I got from Arc Thrift and stripped the wires down a bit. There were three wires inside, green (ground), white (neutral), and black (live), which I then connected to driver. I was certain to unplug during any wire-play and I hope everyone else is, too.
The sidelights were sort of a struggle. I used a scrap of the buckets, like maybe 4-5 inches of bucket from about half-way down to a quarter, so not much. I then lined the inside with the double-sided tape, cutting strips, in an effort to conserve tape, which feels very stable. I drilled a hole and fed the cable through, then determined the best spot to drill a hole on the exterior bucket. It's about at the center of the bucket, or in my case, 13 cm down from the lip. Finally, I fed the LED cable through the exterior hole and the lights were basically in place, where it would sit right above the soil.
I didn't want to have to extend any cords, so I found an ideal spot to place the driver on the exterior so that all cables (LED strip, both fans) could reach their appropriate ports. I fixed the velcro onto the bucket and the driver and tidied the wires with some more duct tape.
Finally, I sealed the edges of both fans, inside and outside, with their respective tapes.
I'm pretty sure that's everything I've done to this point, but if I think of anything else, I'll add it. I'm likely going to black-out the spacers to reduce light leak.

These books are quite comprehensive. As you may already suspect, True Living Organics is primarily about building living, organic soil, and the techniques that the author uses to maintain the soil and maximize the quality of the end product.
The Cannabis Grow Bible covers all things related to growing cannabis, as well as producing extracts. Very comprehensive and an excellent tome for any grower to have, from wide-eyed novice to salty veteran.
I have an older edition of Marijuana Horticulture from the early 2000s, and use it quite a bit less than the other two, but it was very useful to me when I was starting out. I would recommend The Cannabis Grow Bible first and foremost, however.
I hope this helps! Don't get overwhelmed by all the information out there; best thing I can recommend is to pop a few seeds and just give it a go. Don't let your inner perfectionist prevent you from attaining perfection through time and experience!

I don't have one I'd recommend but I'd avoid another eBay bulb - maybe this one instead? It seems to have good reviews and it's not too expensive.
Daylight CFLs put out a good spectrum for plants and you'll probably always get good results using one, but LEDs are awesome because you can consume far less power and put out the absolute most effective spectrum for plant growth. I don't know whether you'll necessarily get better results with the LED than the CFL but you'll certainly be able to get comparable results.
Container: Rubbermaid 20 gal Brute Bin
Lights: Kingbrite 60 W Quantum Board (if you want dimmable, ask for a dimmable driver like the HLG-60H-36B and a potentiometer)
Screws: You'll need lots of nuts, long screws, washers, and spacers to mount the board and PSU. First put the board on the lid and mark where to drill, then drill holes. Then put the power supply on the outside in the middle, mark and drill those hoses. Mount power supply and then flip lid over and mount the light, using long screws and nuts to hold it in place (the light should NOT touch the lid but be 1-2 inches from it, held in place by nuts). Drill small hole for power line, then connect. Finally, drill 3 inch hole for exhaust beside the light. You'll also need long screws with nuts to keep the fan and shrouds together. Be sure to use spaces anywhere the screw heads or nuts are touching the lid or the lights. For light spacers, I used rubber spaces between the nuts.

Notes: This design is very safe because it keeps all electronic components high in the bin. At the same time, using a battery powered watering system keeps you from requiring to ever open it. The lamp runs very cool. The PWM fan controller works well and keeping the air moving without using a lot of power (do NOT buy a cheap voltage modulator, I did first and it doesn't work nearly as well as the PWM controller). The Wyze cam is super cheap and lets you keep an eye on everything or make timelapses. Have fun growing your tomatoes!
I had to buy 2 rolls of black tape to check her the whole outside twice and make sure no light came through. I used 1.5 rolls but I can’t buy 1.5 rolls. It uses a lot of tape to get a full light seal.
I don’t know what tents you are using, you can find tents 45-55 that’s are 4-5 times the size of a bucket. A $90 tent is like 3x3 or bigger, can’t compare that to a bucket size grow.

Well I understand you may find it annoying, but every time I do I get direct messages asking for link and then agreeing it’s a better investment that buying and building a bucket. I worked a few hours a day for a week to build my bucket.
It’s a great DIY and I had fun building it, but you can do more for the investment if you consider time to make it and all. Space buckets are a great beginner hobby, but so can a 2x2

The container adjust could work, but you'll need to make sure that it is all secure so it doesn't tip or fall over or anything.

For now you just need Grow Big for veg, when you get to flowering time start feeding it Tiger bloom, the difference between the bottles is the ratio of each nutrient, bloom nutes are higher in P and K while veg is higher in N.
And watering is easy. After you water it, feel how heavy it is. Get a gauge for that, and check it every day as the plant consumes water, eventually it will be as light as it will get and the plant may get to the point of dehydration where the leaves will tuck inward, don't let it get that dry, water a day before that. Soon enough you'll totally get it. Also stick your finger in the top of the soil for about 1-2" down and feel how the dryness changes and use that and weight of the pot.

I've gotten in to growing recently and really enjoy it :) I hop you do too stranger.
Most people just add nutes to water, adjust the pH of the nutrient solution as needed to get a runoff of around pH 6.5 or so, and then add the solution to the plants as per the two knuckle rule (stick your finger in the soil and if it feels dry at the second knuckle then do a complete watering).
You can store concentrated nutrients however you want just don't store concentrated multi-part nutrients together in the same container. This will cause some of the nutrients to bind up.
Using a syringe, tiny measuring cup, "soap" dispenser, etc does not matter as long as the nutrient solution is the appropriate strength and pHed before adding it to the soil. With the above 3 part GH Flora fertilizers I like a fertilizer strength of 1200ppm/1.9 EC (I use a TDS meter) and a pH of 6.7-6.8 to get a runoff of around 6.5.

edit- slight correction and TDS stands for "total dissolved solids". I use an older version of this meter that has a 650ppm=1 EC correction factor, which can be different depending on the meter, and this to test pH.

I read a tutorial somewhere about this. Basically tin foil isn't the greatest and mylar is typically the preferred reflector. I used hvac tape myself and stripped my entire bucket with it. Had really good results. Alternatively, painting the inside of your container completely white is as good if not better than mylar. I think the word still might be out on that but yeah.

I believe it's also got easy to access rivets, so when it comes time to change the carbon, you can drill them out easy, and replace them with some sheet metal screws, and you're good to go.

I imagine you could purchase these activated charcoal sheets that you can cut to size! Tape a plate with a hole over it and you should be able to cut any size you want. The fan you spec'd looks like it should be able to handle the load that the charcoal filter will cause (it is going to be like trying to breathe through a straw rather than just your mouth).
Another option would be something like this where you have an all in one filter/blower system. It's more money but it will handle all that obstruction better. Alternatively you can go to a harware store and buy an inline duct booster. You should be able to control the fan speed with a big triac or possibly PWM signal.

My bucket has two passive 120mm intakes that are covered with mesh filters and a single 120mm exhaust in the lid that connects to a 4" flange with dryer ducting. There is a 4" 190 CFM In-Line fan connected to a 4x12 Carbon Filter. I also have a variable fan controller on the in-line fan. I run mine at about half power.

I use a 5g nursery pot. For my next grow I will be switching to a smart pot to avoid it getting rootbound.

If you're gonna do that you're better off getting one of those 5g DWC setups. With that said, I'd advise against doing that. Reason being is you add another layer of complexity in that you have to figure out how to support the brute and you run risks with light leaks. This also puts the brute much higher than you are which can make servicing/watering awkward.
I just have mine sitting on the bottom of the bucket in the pot. The newer style Brutes cause you to lose a few inches but if you can budget to buy two of them and use one as a spacer, it works well.

Do not listen to the guys saying you can pull 10 fans of a 2A brick, that's simply not possible. a 120x120mm PC fan draws in the area of 3~5 watts, while startup can be higher, 12 volts times 2 amps is 24watts so you can only power a maximum of 5 fans safely

The goal is to keep the plant as short as possible during the vegetative state which is why I was going to go for the blue LED. I've also read that red lights help the flower stage which is why I am leaning towards the second one. As far as addressing the heat, I was probably going to drill a few holes above the bulbs so air can pass through, cooling them.

And just used a hose clamp to clamp a piece of the carbon filter over the intake of the fan. So it sucks air from the tent outside. Keeps my tent at perfect temps and scrubs smell.

I think I'm on the same page now. So if the top fan is going to be on at 100% speed when it's on, it needs its own power supply. That will either be the UFO light (probably not) or a power adapter (most likely). The power supply you linked would work.
Carbon filter eliminated nearly all odor. I went the first 3 or so weeks without it, then the smell started coming on strong as it was starting to preflower. Bought the filter and it was night and day. Highly suggest it.

Ekrof on the article you talk about UFO lights and you posted a link to an 'Apollo 180W' light. You also state that 135W lights are recommended, but when I go to the 135 Apollo light link on amazon there is a section where it says "Actual Power Draw: 90 Watts" Should we consider to choose the 135 watt light based on the "Actual Power Drawn" or the wattage that is advertised on the tittle of the product? The pot is inside a cut out bottom of a bucket about 2 inches tall to catch any runoff water. The plan is to leave it there to keep the humidity about 50-70% inside the bucket. If it goes higher then that water can be drained very easily.
So the irrigation system is very simple, it uses PVC pipes to go from the outside into the inside of the bucket and it contains a valve (2) that can be used to control the flow of the water. So, I pour the water into the bottle (1), it goes down the hose (3), and it's then evenly dispersed by the PVC pipes (4), these PVC pipes have holes in them (5) and it goes around the stem of the plant to get water everywhere.
Regarding nutrients. I bought the these ones that I'm planning to use depending on the stage I'm in (vegetative vs flowering). With these nutrients you just prepare the mix with water and then you irrigate. You just need to control the pH before adding any nutrients (it should be between 6.5 and 6.8) and once the nutrients are added you have to control the EC (electrical conductivity), this one depends on the stage again (it should be around 0.9 during the vegetative stage and between 1.5 and 2.0 during flowering). Remember that you don't add any nutrients during the germination and seedling stages and during these stages the pH should be between 6.5 and 6.8 and the EC should be around 0.4.

I can't speak on the effectiveness of the filter yet. I'm on my first grow and I have no need to use it yet.
Do what he said but buy a digital ph meter and test the ph of your water. Some people have naturally high ph water, some have naturally low ph. You need to test to find out then figure out what you need to adjust ph.
