It's controversial and you should be careful if you try it, but Kratom is very potent for relieving anxiety. It can also boost energy and relieve pain. It's very powerful but some people (not all) have dependency and withdrawal problems due to it.

IMO you've already got the important ones that work really well in your stack. You could try adding L-Theanine, especially if you consume any caffeine it definitely reduces anxiety/jitters from that. St. John's wort can be a very effective long term anxiety/depression treatment, just make sure to do your homework on it as it can interact with other things. St. John's wort will take 3-6 weeks before it becomes effective.

To add to your meditation I would highly recommend reading The Mind Illuminated and it's accompanying subreddit /r/TheMindIlluminated. It is IMO the best comprehensive, science based, no religion, no bullshit, step by step guide to improving your meditative skills and making them useful to you.

Absolutely. I work a M-F 8-5 type job in IT, so I typically get up around the same time and stick to a decent morning routine and schedule in the first place. Having a good routine and preparation mindset is key for ADHD control. I take my Vyvanse shortly after I'm up and out of the shower, since it needs time to kick in and doesn't need to be taken with food. I take the stack 2x a day: with breakfast and coffee in the AM (and then second multivitamin and ALCAR with lunch) and then the rest without food or maybe a light snack at bed time.
Here's how I break down the stack:

  • B vitamin sources (I get mine per multivitamin): Solgar VM-75 2x daily (taken at breakfast and lunch)
  • DHA/omega fatty acid source: DHA NOW Foods DHA-500, 180 Softgels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003O1U77I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_IxMjyb0H4A8JW
This doubles as my omega 3 and fatty acid source,
which is THE FUCKING CRUCIAL ingredient in this stack and ADD/ADHD mitigation overall. Take this at breakfast and bed time. The research is out there on how much the brain loves omegas.
  • (Triacetyl)Uridine - Cardiovascular Research Uridine 25 mg 60 Caps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005NHSKWU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_2CMjybVB9ZKMF
Triacetyluridine is more potent and convenient than uridine UMP; you can take this tiny pill with breakfast and bed stacks and skip all that not-so-great tasting sublingual dissolving crap.
  • Choline source: ALCAR all damn day. I found I was highly reactive to cholinergics, and ALCAR doesn't cause any adverse reactions. It's a wonderful addition to any stack. Period.
Taken morning with breakfast and again with lunch (T+4 hours) since it's energizing.
  • You could also go with Alpha-GPC, and I recommend starting at the lower end of the dosage range, in the event that you are sensitive as well. I like the 50% strength variety - Powder City Alpha GPC Capsules (60 Capsules) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IWE0KOQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_lLMjybNASN6TP

Tl;dr - you need DHA, Uridine, B vitamins and Cholinergics, typically in a 12 hr apart regiment (or broken apart into breakfast, lunch and evening stacks). Quality magnesium is also recommended.
Vyvanse should also be taken on a strict schedule.

The question "what has had the most significant effect for you?" has been posed in /r/nootropics and /r/stackadvice before. The #1 answer is always exercise. Exercise will have a much more significant effect than any nootropic, and the recommendation is always to ensure that sleep, diet, and exercise are all taken care of before experimenting with nootropics.

That being said, some supplements can definitely help to address anxiety/depression. Let me also say that every body is different; and between two people who are trying to ameliorate the same condition, the same supplement could help one and worsen the other.

The essentials for anyone are: Omega-3s, magnesium glycinate, and a B-complex. Also consider ALCAR and a choline source (such as alpha-GPC).

Supplements that people report being beneficial for anxiety/depression (and therefore focus, energy, mental capacity): ashwagandha, rosea rhiodola, L-theanine bacopa, SEMAX, memantine.

There are plenty (1, 2, 3) of reports on what has worked for certain people to tackle their anxiety/depression. (Click through all of those).

My recommendation for you would be to get this magnesium, some good fish oil, and this B-complex. Then give SEMAX a shot. Then maybe look into bacopa, aswagandha, etc.

Regarding noopept: "Noopept reduces anxiety and depression for me. When I went through a bad time it would immediately take the emotion out of me." Perhaps try it too.

Caffeine and L-Theanine work great for me for motivation and focus. I use this http://www.amazon.com/Caffeine-Nootropic-L-theanine-Focused-Recommended/dp/B00GXPNEUO although I'm sure if you get bulk powders it would cost much much less. Sounds like you're stressed too. Ashwagandha has helped me with stress/anxiety. Good luck

> I'm not sure that SSRIs and Rhodiola are a good mix. There's at least one case of an adverse reaction.

I did read that it is a MAO inhibitor and can cause headaches or even serotonin syndrome if taken with SSRIs. However it seems to be speculative. I cannot find strong evidence that there is an interaction. Examine.com and drugs.com list no interactions between the two.

> Why DMAE? It doesn't seem to have very good evidence.

My mistake. I meant DHA fish oil.

> Why glutamine? are you vegan/vegetarian?

Not at all haha. I've read how important it is for workout recovery and want to make sure I get enough in, so I thought I'd supplement with it. I'm on the fence about this one since I do eat a lot of protein, whey, and casein.

> Ashwagandha 800mg x2
>
> 800mg of what? Whole plant? It seems too high to be the extract which is what's researched/shows benefit. The extract is highly recommended.

It's the extract from NOW Foods. Examine.com states "The optimal dose is 6,000mg a day usually divided into three doses (2,000mg)". The Chopra Center is more conservative: "The typical recommended dose is 600 to 1,000 mg. twice daily." I initially came up with my dosage from their recommendation - I want to be conservative since I'm taking Rhodiola as well. If I take 2 NOW pills twice a day, it will up it to 900mg x2. Where did you read that 800 x2 would be too much?

Wow, that's why I've been sexually rampant. Is that right? Jeez, it's fucking good stuff though. Thanks for that info. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rainforest-Foods-Organic-Maca-Root/dp/B004I4DTAM < these are the ones I take.

u/NotMeYep · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

Would this cheap supplement count as the subligunal form? Source Naturals Glutathione Complex 50 mg Tabs, 100 ct https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00016ANCI/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_-bPhzbW8AWKW5

And would that help with ocd or anxiety like nac does? And how is sublingual different than liposomal? And im amazed about the hundreds of amazon reviews that say regular reduced form works.

u/GonadusTwistus · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

The best bang for the buck I could find is this:

https://www.amazon.com/Source-Naturals-Multiple-Activator-Capsules/dp/B000GFPD0G

Highly bioavailable, good ratios, and cost-effective

u/GeneralSmedleyButsex · 2 pointsr/StackAdvice

This is the Choline I was thinking of buying - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013OUJPS/ref=gno_cart_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Thanks for the feedback - I like the look of that Smart Caffeine.

u/lodro · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

Ah yeah. Address the posture and see if you still feel bad. It's likely you'll feel way better.

There are a lot of different things called qi gong. The kind I'm thinking of is stuff like that explicated in this fantastically 80s looking book. All jokes aside, that book works really well as a standalone guide to the basic practice, which works wonders if you do it for 15 minutes daily.

u/77thandkingston · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

Thanks bro alpha-GPC came in this morning I got this brand

I just our ALCAR in my cart after you told me 2

And I'm seeing about the racetam swap now I probably will actually take both, when you say both do you mean both at the same time or take aniracetam one day and then take oxiracetam another day?

And I'm looking into the "happy/urdarine stack right now prob will have the stuff ordered by the end of the day

Thanks

u/bobmighty · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

edit: whoops, i meant this is my favorite http://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-DHA-500-180-Softgels/dp/B003O1U77I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418080303&sr=8-1&keywords=now+dha-500

dha 500, which is what you really want. total 750mg combined dha/epa per 1,000mg, meaning not much wasted space.

u/panacizma · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

Make sure you are taking a product with bioavailable/active forms of Folate, B12, and B6. This is the product I recommend (and personally take) after much research:

http://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-B-right-Supports-Cardiovascular/dp/B0016003Z0/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1458951752&sr=8-1&keywords=Jarrow+B-right

u/Icantletafriendsee · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

When and how should I take these? I just ordered Lions Mane. I have Lithium Orotate which I plan to take twice a day. Then there's the Bacopa. Should I take the Lithium, Bacopa, and Lions Mane all at the same time in the morning? I want to fit NAC in there too somehow, if it's not redundant.

And could someone clarify on Unlimitles stack? What are those, how to take them, the doses, the brands... Is that even reasonable to all mix?

u/HurricaneHenry · 3 pointsr/StackAdvice

I've taken Venlafaxin (SNRI) and Lion's Mane without issue. The Lion's Mane didn't do anything at all for me though. Later I heard that the quality of the supplement is key. You need a supplement that's made from the fruiting body - not from the mycelium. I haven't tried it, but this one looks promising (and pricey).

Piracetam is a good place to start with -racetams and citicoline or Alpha-GPC are good sources of choline.

L-tyrosine is useful in cases of dopamine deficiency and should be taken with a B complex, or just vitamin B6, and no food for optimal absorption.

Histamine reactions to NAC are rare, but NAC should be avoided if you do have a reaction.

L-tyrosine and Choline sources:

u/Staggvillainy · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

I'll look into a choline source before investing into a racetam. ALCAR is generally recommended as a source, right? Can I just eat eggs?

I have used KSM-66 in the past, but this is my current source, which may be less potent: [NOW Ashwagandha Extract 450 mg] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013OQIJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_UP6OzbZFJFV0B)

Any other noots that are recommended for concentration?

This one. I live in Japan and this brand was the only one that seemed legit and ships to Japan so I’m taking this one. But I think Synapsa brand or bacognize brand might give you better results since it is more potent than this one.
Although I’ve seen lots of people complaining side effects from those 2 brands so maybe not...

  • Multivitamin is not a good options for many reasons. (unnecessary vitamins / low quality)
  • High quality source of bacopa monnieri, something like this
  • Vitamin B6, B12
  • Regular meditation and track the result with something like this
u/ahandsomecat · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

if you think your cortisol levels may be high (you can have them tested) you should try ashwagandha [I felt a noticeable and significant [i.e. stress level from a 10 (chronic nausea and severe nausea after anything that increased cortisol levels) to a 1] difference after 1 dose and have continued to feel the effects after 6 months of use]
If you think you could have a hormonal imbalance (as a man or woman) you could try DIM (reduces androgen levels and total estrogen levels); DIM relieves anxiety in some people going through menopause or with PMDD

  • kratom — in a nutshell: a brief vacation from feeling tired and miserable. Anecdote: I had to give a presentation the other day. I it started earlier than I realized and I missed my nap & lunch. I had taken 500mg kratom that morning though. I was surprised that I made it through the presentation with no crash or even a fumble. I'm not taking it now, though; it doesn't play well with the methyl-B12 that I started. I end up wired all night.
  • Selank — stress blocker. The pro is that I can work more/harder/longer. The con is that I can overdo it and be too exhausted the next day to get much done. I think of it as a stress blocker, not reducer.

BTW, I just started reading the Terry Wahls book on using targeted nutrition ensure your body gets what it needs to function optimally. In the preface she describes how she became wheelchair bound from progressive multiple sclerosis, researched nutritional support for mitochondrial function then regained most of her health. She's an MD and it looks to be realistic so far. You can read the preface on Amazon and see if it interests you.
