I posted about this for someone last year so I'm going to repost the info but update it a bit:
I'm going to assume you are in the US.
Here are some fun things at various prices:
A British company, Big Finish, does Stargate audio books - these are original stories not just rehashes of episodes, and they feature the actors from Stargate. Some of them are less than ten bucks for a new Stargate story read by a Stargate actor!
Here they are on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=big%20finish%20stargate
If the boyfriend prefers paper books, here's a really fun story with the original SG-1 team. Cheap, and a good light read:
http://www.amazon.com/Stargate-SG-1-Barque-Heaven-SG-11/dp/1905586051/ref=pd_sim_b_14
At www.stargateprops.com you will find all kinds of cool stuff: props from the show, some of them very affordable like the stuff on this page:
www.stargateprops.com/catalogue/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=22&cat=%3Cb%3EStargate+Props
The same people sell autographs from the Stargate actors and ALL of the money from them goes to charity. Prices vary, but there are Richard Dean Anderson autographs for $50. Every Stargate fan loves RDA! Amanda Tapping only costs $25, and might be a good choice for a guy.
I know the guy who runs this company, he is friends with many of the people who acted in/worked on the show and I know the autographs are genuine which is not true of many "autographs" on eBay.
If you want a nice little thing, there are metal keyrings on eBay in the shape of a Stargate, I've had mine for years, love it because the ring makes it easy to fish out of your pocket.
Hope that helps...

The sense of perspective in the lower half of the work is outstanding. Really conveys a three dimensional space. The unrealistic anatomy of the shoulders in the top half pretty much throws everything off.
Placing your hand over the top half will give the impression that you're looking at a full 3D render from a mid-level game engine or something. Moving your hand to the bottom starts a weird session of chanting "Liefeld" over and over should you expose the image to a comic-book fan.
Think of how his collarbones would have to be positioned for us to see the patch on his right (our left). Look at how close that right shoulder is to his chin. It's not totally physically impossible for someone to get into such an extreme pose, but Teal'c is no contortionist. I'd recommend picking up a copy of Dynamic Figure Drawing by Burne Hogarth. It is the bible of drawing heroic figures in great poses.

[edit: typos]
The best edition of the original 1994 movie is the 15th anniversary Blu-ray from 2009, which is region-free. The 20th anniversary BD from 2014 is apparently a reprint.
Seeing as your Xbox One X can play 4k, you could also cross your fingers and hope that StudioCanal will release a 4k version for the movie's 25th anniversary this year...
>only seen maybe 3 episodes of Farscape
What are you doing on reddit? Get on that, it's some of the best science fiction TV ever. Nerdist Minisodes, Amazon Prime Insant, Netflix.
Sure - but just a warning - the Offworld jacket is the most expensive part of the outfit. It's a USMC WEP style jacket, which is typically a Nylon shell and goes for $200+. On the show, however, they used a RipStop material, which isn't as shiny. If you don't care about that, you can save yourself about $100.
I followed this Costume Guide
Things left for me to add: (I haven't bought them yet since I spent enough on the costume already and feel good where it is)
ah sorry, i thought you just meant you didn't want the youtube ones specifically. i think if you buy the SGU DVD set, it comes with some of the webisodes as seen here under "Kino Video Diaries" (scroll down cause there's more than one section listing them). Here it is on Amazon if you're interested.
EDIT: You apparently also get Daniel Jackson's "Stargate 101" videos with the DVDs :)
just going to leave this here
The core rulebook of the sg1 roleplaying game. We should definitely play this over skype
SG1 shoulder patch is a favorite of mine.

It's basically one of these
Only things I found were how to build little diy ones and then ones like this one
There were books written which followed Emmerich's vision of what Stargate should be. If you want to know what these movies will be about, give them a read.
Nice, I got the DVD sets individually as they came out. Each season except 9/10 has 5 full size DVD cases so they're each about 3/4 the size of that lol, so as you might imagine, all 10 seasons and the movies take up an entire shelf of my bookcase to themselves but don't look nearly as fancy.
Also, aren't you a bit concerned with the spaceship that seems to have landed next to your keyboard/the dvd set? Its extended some sort of cord to attach itself to your computer :P
Well, McKay used the LE1600 (phased out by the LE1700).
And on it was basically a bump case specific to that model.\

I think prop department added velcro to it so that it could be attached to a vest. Not standard.
Hi there.
Sorry it's taken so long for me to reply. I'm not sure what country you're in but I've found Amazon UK links to all three sets. I know Atlantis and SGU have Bluray versions available too.
Here's the links to my DVD sets:

In this book, there is a chapter that basically discusses how SG teams should ALL be issued sniper rifles since staff weapons have such a short effective range.
I'd like a pair of these glasses
I can get them here, unfortunately I can't justify paying that much for an accessory.
These are not Jaffa cakes per se and they are higher than a cat's back in price, but they are close. And my local Wal Mart carries them.
