Spray all your cords every week.

Wrap your really expensive items in capsaicin electrical tape.

Neither will harm your cat but they definitely won't enjoy either taste. You should make an effort to organize and hide your cables in plastic sleeves/PVC pipe/something that looks good first.

One of my cats LOVES soy based cords. Won't touch anything else. The other won't eat any cords at all.

Finally, add some more positive play time to their day. Your cat may just be bored.

You can get bath overflow drain covers to increase the height of the drain. I have that exact one and it works great. The water level stays high and the water seems to stay warmer for longer.

I know in Japan (and maybe other places idk?) people eat little dried fish as a snack maybe that's (probably) what it is.

Edit-something like this

u/Sirucus · 3 pointsr/StartledCats

it seems like this is the closest thing but that looks 1/1 scale considering its size compared to the cat.

You could always just get one of these.

Go to your local hardware store in the plumbing section look for some clear vinyl tubing like this. Then, cut a slit down one side (it won't be a very clean nor straight cut, but it doesn't really matter). Cut the tubing to the length you need and shove your cords in it.

I had to deal with my pain in the ass cat and his incessant cord-chewing habit. Nothing worked (spicy stuff, bitterant, etc) and I sure as hell was not covering my cords in double-sided tape because that would both look fucking awful in a matter of days and would make it unpleasant to handle the cord from then on. Eventually I gave up on the easier stuff and resorted to this type of vinyl tubing cover solution and haven't had a problem since. Now we have phone chargers, power cords, speaker cables, etc. all covered. It's been a huge pain but after being covered once, we've been able to forget about it.
